I gotta get me a man who likes to cook... Or make enough money to hire a cook. 'Cause I fuckin' hate cooking and washing dishes. I just wanna eat. Then again, I'm easy to please. Disposable plastic plates/silverware you can wash? Hell yes, works for me... I eat off paper plates or napkins when no one's around to wash dishes anyway. No big change there.

Yeah, both Jenni and I are already buying stuff for our future place. Our friend Kri wants to move in with us too (she had BETTER pull her weight T.T she's usually quite lazy and pretty inconsiderate.....)
Jenni's ex (possibly future non-ex) might be moving back to CA and he wants to get back together/get a place with us.
with that many people, we could get a house in San Ramon for a little less than $2400 a month
but yeah, I know what happens to nice things in this house.
Every so often I'll buy stuff for this house (not stuff for future place) simply because we NEED it and my parents are....well.....kinda irresponsible.
like....Garbage cans. We needed one for the kitchen and one for the garage. A new kettle (our old one was DISGUSTING and over 10 years old....*shudder*). New pot holders (see kettle comment....). You know, that kind of stuff.
The biggest opsticle I have right now is that my 2 youngest brothers STILL wet the bed! O.o;;;;
Frank was taking care of Jenni's cat while I was in Japan. I padded it down with 2 covers and a bunch of towels but.... T.T he didn't change them when he DID wet and after god-only-knows how many times more it seemed through to my bed..... *very pissed*
I think that's the biggest reason why I want to get out. I need a little more responsibility, cleanliness, and organization...
Eric's a little spoiled jerk that I'm sure is going to end up as a serial rapist... T.T he creeps me out to no end (Jenni, Colleen, etc etc too) |

I'm going to share my first-house-horrors!
I moved out of home and into my uni halls when I was 18, then the next year into a house with my fiance. The place was a shithole when we moved in, seriously
The kitchen was so narrow only one person could stand in it at a time, you couldn't use two electrical appliances at once or the circuit would trip. The lights didn't work all the time, there was no central heating or double glazing and half the windows were cracked - in wintertime it dropped below freezing once or twice. The glass of water next to my bed iced over
The person who lived there last had a cat that pissed everywhere and they never vacuumed. When they moved out they left all their junk in one of the rooms, including a toploader video with Jerry Springer in it, three chairs (none useable), a damp couch (don't ask), a broken TV and assorted stinking bed linen, and a few things I couldn't even identify. And, of course, clumps of cat fur.
There was no bath, only a shower, the bathroom had no windows and was painted this sickly yellow-green. We found a traffic cone in the closet..damn students. The bedroom had mice, from the shop storeroom below (which is when we decided that we should probably get a cat, yes). The toilet (separate from the bathroom) had slugs.
I won't even mention the spiders...
In the 2 1/2 years we lived there, three people were murdered within a 2 mile radius, and we were evacuated once at 3am so they could safely detonate a WWII bomb builders had uncovered
But hey, the rent was sooo damn cheap. Still damn glad to be out of there
Enough terror...good luck in your new home, everyone's already given great advice so here's mine - Yellow Pages make by far the superior spider-squasher. |

A word of advice Raymei... don't let your friend Kri move in with you. Your asking for trouble. The people who move in with you, you shouldn't even have that kind of vibe from. And i think you do since you mentioned to us how she's inconsiderate and such. That is the last thing you need when moving out. Trust me, your asking for trouble.
My aunt owns a bunch of places around my home town and she rents them out. She always lets junkies into them though and they f**k the places up <_< Some of them would be really beautiful houses to if my dad didn't always have to work on putting new door knobs along with new licks and s**t T_T
And the boyfriend thing, as long as he's not this Eric guy, well... *has that look* Okay i guess. But you have to be really careful. What happens when he and Jenni get in a disagreement and have a fight? Are you going to be their roomie? Or are you going to be Jenni's best friend and take sides? And what happens if they break up and he wants to move out (our jsut simply does because of the break up?) That would severely hurt you and Jenni both with house payments and such. May not be the best idea but thats just by my thoughts.
Fallen, would you ever get a place with me and Li? lol. He can cook, i can a few things, i probably cook really good if i wanted to but the truth is, i don't feel like making dinners and s**t, it's not my thing. But there are some things on my list i can cook really good, and i don't mind doing dishes and s**t. I do them pretty much daily. Either at night before i go to bed or in the morning. *shrugs* I get pissed off when people just shove things in the dishwasher. I'm sorry, pans and pots do no go in there, they tend to need some scrubbing and if you aren't careful you can miss s**t around the edges and a dishwasher can't do that people <_< I don't mind dishes really. Besides, i told Li when i do move out "Going to costco, stocking up on noodle cups, pasta, pasta sauce, and cereal" lol. |

Diathene- that's horrible! And I thought the place I am living now is bad... whoa.. My first place wasn't bad at all. It was a nice lil apartment. i've posted pics before. But when we decided to move to the island it was hard to find a place. It cost us $58 to get to the island and $58 to get back so we only had one day to search for places to live. Every place we went to was garbage. Some places we wouldn't even walk into.. just drove past, looked at eachother, and kept on going. Then the last place we looked at wasn't great.. but it was a hell of a lot better than the other places we had seen that day. Only thing that really sucked was having to get used to not having a dishwasher. That hurt. My old apartment had one.. When we move from here we will probably move into an apartment. I wouldn't want to move into a basement suite again. I really wish I had rich parents who would lend me the money to put a down payment on a place of my own. _________________ |

Yeah.... thinking about it your right. o.o I didn't want her to move in with us from the beginning (she's really spoiled, and there were several times she "didn't have money" when we went out so I paid; somehow SHE got to pick/demand where we went even though she wasn't paying and while we were going through the salad bar a $10 bill would be peaking out of her back pocket T.T)
She doesn't have to pay for anything, and her dad is even going to give her $700 a month for rent when she moves out. T.T........ yeah.... now I just have to convince Jenni....
And the boyfriend thing, as long as he's not this Eric guy, well... *has that look* Okay i guess. But you have to be really careful. What happens when he and Jenni get in a disagreement and have a fight?
True...
Nah, Eric is my youngest brother o.o that's sad.. Um... The only way to really get what I'm saying about HIM is if you met him (which I don't recommend at all). He's just...seriously...messed up in the head.
Nolan is pretty cool. Kinda an anime nerd, but that I can deal with n.n 'specially since I need some good recommendations/sources. lol
I didn't like him a little while ago because he seemed like a bit of a loser (thats why they broke up) but he's really picked up his life (that's why he wants to get back with jenni). He's a real nice guy, and now that he's not spending 24/7 playing video games and not sleeping, I'm fine with him.
Plus, if HE moves in then Kri can't (just talked to Jenni, I guess her dad won't pay for her rent if she lives with a guy n.n no conditions)
And what happens if they break up and he wants to move out (our jsut simply does because of the break up?) That would severely hurt you and Jenni both with house payments and such. May not be the best idea but thats just by my thoughts.
Yeah, that's true too.
Well, if it's just Jenni, Nolan and me, we can get this really nice and REALLY cheap 2 bedroom apartment. Then, if Nolan and Jenni part ways, it would be a damper (like an extra $150 or so a month each) but that shouldn't be too bad, actually.
Thinking about it, I think it would be best if it was just the 3 of us in that apartment.
But we still have about a year and 4 months before we're planning on moving out. still lots of time to make decisions and look around, etc
n.n glad i put up this thread! Lots of great opinions/advice!
thanks guys!

Yeah, Kri would cause trouble. She would probably even cause a few big fights, possibly between you and Raymei if the frustration nad such builds up. You gotta release it somewhere.
And the boyfriend thing is okay if you do get that two bedroom apartment. But if i were you, i'd get it signed on paper that if anything goes wrong, he's the one that moves out, not you or raymei. Might sound funny and un needed but you'd be surprised and it's better safe than sorry. Even something written on a piece of paper and torn fro mteh corner with just his signature would do it really. My ex english teacher (she quit) and friend (talk to her all the time, went to a cafe a few times late at night to meet her and grab a bagel, she's pretty young actually) and her and her boyfriend just broke up, they shared an apartment and she kicked him out. She had him packing, clothes ina few trash bags. That guy was a f**king ass. The last two weeks of school was spent talking to her about it and fixing our yearbook up. lol.
Personally, when i move out, i don't care if your one of my best friends who has helped me throw some of my lifes hardest moments. If i have any doubt we could be roomies and share responsibilities, rent, and the bills and such, i would not do it, not with them. I refuse to move out with people who are not going to hold up their own end of the bargain.
Does that mean we have to go 50/50 on everything? No. Rent, yes, electric, yes, etc etc. But things like chores. No, i f**king hate cleaning bathrooms, can't f**king stand it. But i will clean just about any thing else and i'm use to running errands. So if i had a room who for example, hated cooking and going near the kitchen period (sounds like fallen, lol) Fine, strike up a deal, i'll do most of that s**t, if they do most of the bathroom cleaning and don't let it go to hell. Does that mean i won't ever touch it, no, that's just rude. you get the idea.
etc etc. |

*looks at the bathrooms* Uh...coming from someone who has never done a chore a day in her life...er...I could probably handle that. Long as I don't have someone over my shoulder or storming in there the second I'm finished saying "you didn't use this, and you're supposed to scrub in a counter-clockwise motion, and what kind of cleaner did you use there? No no no, I'm gonna have to do it over..."
Actually my father just bought a high-pressure steam cleaner for all that. Man, you do NOT want to see what comes out of the little tiny cracks around the faucet, showerhead, etc. Definitely more fun spraying that thing than getting in there with a toothbrush, though. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. lmao @ Fallen. Hey, if i had you for a roomie and you'd clean the bathroom once in awhile so stuff doesn't start growing in there, hell, i'd go out and buy you one of those pressure steamers. We use to have on in the UK. Parents will get one as soon as we move into a house i garantee it. And more than likely, i'll have one when i move out, i was actually looking at pricess to get an idea strangely enough should you mention them.
And fallen, i would never come in and stand looking over your shoulder correcting you or bitching. I hate it when people do that. The most i'd ever do was come in and ask you if you wanted to take a break for a few minutes and hand you a drink or something to eat. The horror of the idea! i know! lol. Besides, the day i move out, i doubt my roomie/s will have to worry about cleaning supplies, i'd always have them in stock, i'm like that.
I'm not a clean freak. If your room is dirty, i couldn't careless, it's your damn room not mine. The only time i would complain is if it got to the point where bugs and fungus growing things sudden'y appeared or any badass smells that made me or anyone else want to barf. lol. And i'm not one to bitch at people if they set a glass down on a table or what not for 5 minutes. You wouldn't have to take your shoes off. Hell, leave dirty dishes out over night, i don't give a damn. Never understood how some people expect you to clean everything the second you lay them down <_<
I don't give a f**k as long as the place doesn't smell like a f**king dump. I don't care as long as you aren't putting your mud covered boots on the furniture. I don't care if you leave a glass on the coffee table over night. Big f**king deal, not going to flip. I do that, in fact i woke up today and noticed i left a bowl of cereal out beside the couch on the stand wupsie. lol |
