Hidden Gems

Hmm someone might have already done this. Anyway there's a lot of games out there that deserve more hype or credit so I was just wondering what you think is under rated as a game.

I myself think [b]Shadow of Memories [/b]needs more credit and praise. Yeah it's old now in terms of PS2 games but the story and gameplay is so unique. The concept of solving your own murder before it happens again is just awesome and then finding out in one of the 6 I think endings who it is or how you've changed the future is a really good idea. Much praise to konami it's certainly different from a lot of other games.

Next is [b]Vagrant Story [/b]its bloody hard and I've still not finished but despite that it is a beautiful game. A whole new battle system and its a mix of RPG and adventure. True at times the battle system and changing of weapons for different monsters is annoying but it's still a great game with a good story set in a quite medieval atmosphere and the music is some of the most beautiful i've ever heard whether its game or not. Then the characters they're all so nicely designed. I just love Sydney he's so mysterious.

Those are mine so far but Guilty Gear could maybe do with a bit more praise and recognition then again I think its one of those games that if its overhyped or invaded by the fans*or fangirls* it'll probably lose its appeal.

[b]Shadow Hearts[/b] this is probably one of the best role playing games. All the styles of it rock. definitly deserves more credit.

I definitley agree with Vagrant Story... And try as I may, I still havn't beaten it either! And [b]Pokemon Snap![/b] Deserves credit too, dammit! I loved that game!-R

A truly hidden gem would be Hybrid heaven for the N64.

Hybrid heaven? Never heard of it? Not many people have, but its graphics are really good, I'd even say by today's standards it would be okay-ish, but he real cool thing is the system. A perfect combination of a beat m up and an RPG. The battles are being played like any beat m up, but every single move is handpicked RPG style, and different body parts level up, when you use them more often.

God they pwn... Seriously. If you find thier PC game released in like... '96 or something like that.. buy it.. It was soooo much fun and so intelligent too...

one of my friends loves Shadow Hearts its pretty rare over here though.

Even though i've not finished VS I had the ending spoiled for me a long time ago and just thinking about it makes me feel a little upset T__T

Harvest Moon. It's so much f**king fun man! I get to farm, but without getting up off my lazy ass! Plus you can kill cows with sheers, hammers and axes Cool

It's just a great game, go pick it up. Go pick any of them up, there's one for the N64 (the best of the bunch), PS2, Gamecube and Gameboy. They're all generally the same, but they're really f**king fun!

harvest moon isnt really a hidden jem. its pretty popular, i have one for n64 and for ps2, the ps2 one sucks.

Vagrant Story was really good, but I love Xenogears, not Xenosaga, XenoGEARS. PS1 game, totaly brilliant. I also gotta give much love to Star Ocean 2 (also for PS1), and if we can go back really far the entire "Shining Force" series on the genesis.

ya know I don't even think any of the Xeno games made it over here or if they did they are REALLY rare.

As for harvest moon yeah i've seen that but the idea of farming doesn't appeal to me.

ooh another game series thats maybe not the best but lots of fun is [b]Bloody Roar[/b]. Perfect for chilling and having fun and very very good for when your pissed off and wanna vent some anger or summat changing into a beast and beating the crap outta the other person is somewhat satisfying. I tell ya beat em ups are really good for calming you down unless you can't beat the opponent in which case you get madder.
