I love Monty Python. Freaking awesomeness. I have yet to see Life of Brian, but I did see Monty Python and the Holy Grail and I loved it.
All hail the Knights of "Nee"! |

Glad to see we're unanimous so far
LDD - Life of Brian is definitely worth seeing. It's not as random as HG - it's a fairly linear film, but no less funny for it.
Thank you, England, for giving us Monty Python, Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Mr. Bean, and The Young Ones. Technically, thanks for America too, what with King George and Jamestown and whatnot.
I don't think we want the credit for that last one But thanks for sending back Calvin and Hobbes.

Monty Python is so incredible, but it's so sad that some of their other movies haven't reached the fame of The Holy Grail. I think the best one ahs to be Something Completely Different- not to mention I just love their show anyways. My sister bought the box set, and I will forever be in love with the Fish Slapping Dance |

I love Monty Python! Movie wise I've only seen Holy Grail, but I love the show. The Ministry of Silly Walks, The Lumberjack Song, World Class Twit of the Year, and who can forget, "He's gone to join the choir invisible! This is an ex parrot!"
One of my friends has a CD of Monty Python skits. Just audio, but that's fine for the songs. Oh great, now I've got one stuck in my head.

Genius, although i have only seen the Holy Grail, but I simply loved it.
King Arthur : Old woman.
Dennis : Man.
King Arthur : Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there?
Dennis : I'm 37.
King Arthur : What?
Dennis : I'm 37. I'm not old.
King Arthur : Well I can't just call you "man".
Dennis : Well you could say "Dennis".
King Arthur : I didn't know you were called Dennis.
Dennis : Well you didn't bother to find out did you?
King Arthur : I did say sorry about the "old woman", but from behind you looked...
Dennis : What I object to is you automatically treat me like an inferior.
King Arthur : Well I am king.
Dennis : Oh, king eh? Very nice. And how'd you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society.
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.
Pure genius, and you have to love the House of Anthrax scene. _________________ If I was anymore hardcore, I'd be arrested. |

Help, help, I'm being repressed!
And the Black Beast scene....
He wouldn't write out "Aaargh," he'd just say it!
Perhaps he was dictating?
Isn't there a St. Aargh's in Cornwall?
No, that's St. Ive's
Oooh!
No, back of the throat, 'Aargh...'
No, 'Ooh,' is surprise and alarm.
Oh, you mean like, 'Aah!'
Yes. Aaaah!
It's the Black Beast of Aaaaargh!!
And then the animator suffered a fatal heart attack, and the cartoon peril was no more. |
