Fianlly! A place to rave (or rant) about Anne Rice's super sexay vampires! Very Happy

Okies, this is just a place that you all are free to express your opinions on anything and everything VC! Whether you want to discuss whether Louis is better off with Lestat or Armand or if you want to b*tch and moan about how much "Memnoch the Devil" sucked, everything goes in this topic!

BTW, there most likely WILL be yaoi and shonen-ai (a.k.a homosexual) content in this thread so you HAVE been warned if you do decide to flame well...I just don't bode well with flamers is all and I WILL find whoever flames, got it? Good. I'm glad we've had this discussion children. ^_^

Eep! One more thing, while I'm not a "newbie" anymore, I AM new to the forum so please forgive me for any beginner mistakes that I may make. ^-^;;

Not one single response? Criminal! We can't be the only two people on the forums who read VC.

Welcome to the forums, Silver. Just FYI, there's another 'Silver' on here, just so you know.

In the interests of kick-starting a discussion, anyone else thing it sucks that our Brat Prince is trying to be all nice and noble and saintly? He's supposed to be evil, not saintly. And Memnoch the Devil SUCKED! As did the body snatcher one. Tale of the Body Thief, was it? Blackwood farm moved too slowly, but the newest one was better. The Vampire Lestat is one of the best books ever written, and Queen of the Damned is right behind it. Claudia in Interview is the creepiest character in the series. Armand rules.

Just some knee-jerk reactions to the topic. Anyone have anything to say about any of that? Agree, disagree, think I should be tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail?

One last thing. I'm going to be reading Interview with the Vampire for a class. I get college credits for reading Anne Rice. Boo-yah.

OMG! Finally a response! Very Happy I was afraid that I really WAS the only one on this forum that read the VC. Lmao! Thank you so much for the kind welcome. There's another Silver here? WTF? Lol! I didn't know that. Hmmm...well, my full name here is SilverWolf so I can be called that if its easier for you. Lol! Razz But enough about that, I wanna talk about the VC! Lmao! Well, I've read almost all of the books (I've read from IwtV to TVA...but I skipped Memnoch 'cuz I kept hearing how muched it sucked and that Armand dies! Sad )

I want to read Blackwood and Blood Canticle (I read the first chappie of Merrick in a book store but I didn't have enough money to buy it. <_<) So the last books of the VC aren't that good? That really sux! And I do agree with you. The new Lestat is a real dissapointment. But I'm more annoyed with the fact that it seems like the relationship between Louis and Lestat is fading! I thought they were supposed to love each other! I mean, (if you allow me to rant for a second) Queen of the Damned had the perfect fairy tale ending between them (I giggled like a fangirl when Lestat took Louis in his arms and flew him to London Razz) and then DAVID gets thrown in the mix and all of a sudden, Lestat wants to screw him instead of Louis! <_<) But to be honest, I DID like Tale of the Body Theif (even though it seems like Lestat and Louis's relationship is down the toilet.) It made me laugh a lot (the part where Lestat has to learn to pee for the first time in two hundred years was the best!) So you liked the Vampire Lestat? I loved that one! One of my fave books of all time! Lol! But my absolute favorite book in the whole series is The Vampire Armand. Why? Because its all about ARMAND! He's my favorite vampire in the series so a book about him was just the best. The only thing I didn't like about can be summed up in two words..."Benji" and "Sybelle." OMG! Why were they even there?! What happened to Daniel? Armand and Daniel were perfect for each other and he just leaves them! Grr! Oh boy, I'm ranting again. So what did you think about them? They just annoyed me. The shouldn't have been in that book at all (Sybelle especially annoyed me, she was almost a girl replacement of Daniel so Armand could be seen as being straight or something.)

Okies, here's some convo started of my own. Lol! Which VC couple is your favorite? I personally love LestatXLouis and ArmandXDaniel (I can't really choose between them.) Well, I think I've said my two cents so I'll just stop ranting and raving now and look foward to your reply. Lol!

You got one thing wrong, the only time Lestat wanted to screw anybody once he became a vampire was during Body Theif. Vampires don't have sex in the human sense, they can't. It don't work no more. That's why they find drinking blood so pleasurable, it's their replacement. Which is why I'm surprised that Louis and Lestat became so close, Lestat pretty much raped him. Louis also saw it that way, especially at first.

And WHAT DO YOU MEAN ARMAND DIES!? I read that book, and don't remember that...ends with Lestat unconcious in the church after visiting Heaven and Hell...something happened to his eye...and... And Armand storms off after he finds out that Marius vamped a couple of kids! Cause he really liked them and Marius made them vampires cause he thought he was helping Armand, cause Armand was upset about Lestat being in the coma. And the girl wakes up Lestat for a bit with the piano. And doesn't the narration in VA take place after Memnoch? Cause I thought it started out mentioning Lestat's coma. I'm not sure, it's been awhile. I'm almost positive that that's what happened! You scared me there, it's been awhile since I read it. If you wanna get technical, Armand 'dies' in Blood and Gold, the one about Marius.... Or is it Vamprire Armand where Marius vamps the kids? I'm sure I would've remembered something as tramatic as Armand dying. And Armand's not straight. In Anne Rice land, all Vamps are Bi. Very, very Bi.

Yeah, the later books aren't as good as the first ones, but I'm mostly thinking of Body Snatcher and Memnoch. Blackwood Farm is decent, but the plot doesn't really go anywhere cause it's mostly the story of the newest Vamp Lestat's added to his collection and the girl he WUVS. Blood Canticle is better, starts to bring the vamps and witches together. Makes me wonder when Ramses the Damned is gonna run into Lestat, and what would happen if Lestat bit him, or if Ramses gave a vampire the elixer. Ever read Mummy? It's really good.

I don't really know which pairing I perfer, it all seems to be based on physical beauty and lust. Lots and LOTS of lust. Mostly cause **FANGIRL-ALERT**FANGIRL-ALERT** I don't want them to be with anyone. You can understand, right?

Ever see either of the movies? I've heard Interview is pretty good, though I do wonder at the casting...I love Antonio Bandaras as much as the next girl, but as Armand? Lemme see...Russia, to Rome, to Paris...nope, no Spain. Probably had never even heard Spanish before Interview. And Tom Cruise doesn't scream 'Lestat' to me. And Brad Pitt as Louis...Isn't Pitt blonde? And Cruise has dark hair? And Queen of the Damned...does it suck as much as I've heard? I've heard that Stuart Townsend didn't do a very good job delivering the lines, even if the is teh sexay in black leather...and I hear they smushed both Vampire Lestat and QotD into the movie....

Oh...just FYI but I might not be able to post regularly, cause my stupid school won't fix my network port. So no internet access in my dorm. Felt I should mention cause it's just the two of us in this thread...

Lol! Wow! That reply was fast. Lmao! Very Happy So anyways (this is gonna be hard to type 'cuz my cat just jumped in my lap and right on my wrists and I don't have the heart to push her off...she too frickin' cute! Lol!) man, I feel dumb now. WTF? When I said that Armand died in Memnoch, I was just repeating what I've been reading on fan sites 'n such but it just goes to show ya that you can never really trust what you read on-line. Lol! Laughing Plus, I DO remember that in TVA (I just finished reading it like two weeks ago and its still fresh in my mind, plus I have it right in front of me...it hasn't left my computer desk! Lol! Razz ) it starts off with Armand in the church where Lestat is in his coma and he meets David, tells him his life story of how he met Marius, got a hand-job from Marius (I still remember that part...yeah, I'm a perv. Lol!) and then it says how he became a vampire when he got this fatal wound and then Santino and his minions burn Maris...lots of other stuff happens, its all very sad and THEN Lestat goes through the whole Memnoch fiasco (and Armand talks about this chick, Dora, who even though I read about in these three or five pages...annoys me to no end. <_< Does she annoy you too?) and he shows him and David and Dora Veronica's Veil and Armand gets his religion back and he TRIES to commit suicide by standing in the sun for a long time but he can't die 'cuz he's too old! Then those kids who were vamped by Marius came and saved him (whichs is the ONLY good thing about them.) And yeah...sorry if I sound like I'm being defensive or a know-it-all or anything. Lol!

So anyways...'bout the movies, I've seen Interview like five times and believe it or not, I actually do like Cruise as Lestat. He really did capture Lestat's bratty-ness and his evil-ness in that movie. And Brad Pitt...the only thing I didn't like was that his hair was a really dark brunette, not black. <_< And Kirstin Dunst was simply amazing! For her age and for playing such a difficult role, she really did seem like how Claudia really was. And yes, I HATED Banderes as Armand (he actually was pretty good, I'll admit and if I never read the book then I would say that he was really awesome but since I know that Armand is NOTHING like him, then he is a dissapointment.) Seriously though, how did they mix up Spain and Russia? I mean, was it so difficult for them to find some brown-eyed actor who would look good in an auburn wig? (They gave Banderes that UGLY black wig! How in the hell do you mix up pretty aurburn hair with black hair?! WTF? ) I haven't seen QotD ('cuz my mom won't lemme see it for some reason. Too much sex she says which is really weird 'cuz like you said, vampires can't do it so there really wasn't any sex in the book.) Oh well...leave it to Hollywood to smut up a perfectly good book for ratings. <_< I probably wouldn't wanna see it anyways 'cuz I'd get all off from the lack of Louis and the way they changed Nicki into a girl! Surprised Leave it to Hollywood to be homophobic as well. (OMG! In Interview, Louis and Armand's lips were like less than a centimeter apart! I was like so tense, waiting for them to kiss but it never happened! Sad ) Lol! Yeah, I'm a yaoi-girl too so I'm all for LouisXLestat and DanielXArmand. Thats why I also said they could screw 'n such. Even though they CAN'T I wish they could, y'know? Lol! If I had the talent, I'd probably write a DanielXArmand lemon or something. LOL! Hey, what do ya think of that couple (DanielXArmand?) I personally thought they were a great couple but the last I read of Danny, it was in Blood and Gold.

Well, I think I've typed my two cents. Lol! I have to go now. And don't worry about replying soon. Take yer time! I can wait. Lol! Very Happy Byzies!

Nicki is a GIRL!? ...wtf. stupid hollywood. I liked him too, before he went nuts and all. Yeah, yaoi good. And it should probably be Armand/David, not David/Armand. Armand seems like the controling type to me. I'm gonna be watching Interview for my vampire class, I'll let you know my thoughts on it when I do. Saw a bit last year when I was supposed to be watching clips of Prospero's Books in the AV room at the school library, it was more interesting. I thought Bandaras looked good in the long wig, it just didn't look like Armand. I want to see QoS just to see if it really is that bad, but I don't hold any high hopes for it. Ok, don't want to stand here with my bag cutting into my shoulder anymore, so I shall leave now. TTFN.

UPDATE: I now have internet in my dorm! *happy dance* Would've been nice if they hadn't taken SIX WEEKS TO DO IT!! They should just die. And not in the Vampire sense.

Hiya!

Yayness! You got the internet connection back! *Forces Armand to do the Happiness Tango with me* NEwayz, yeah, Nicki is apparently a girl. I sux. <_< But I'm in a good mood right now so I wanna talk about something positive like the books themselves. Lmao! Razz So out of all the vampires, which one is your fave? (I have a feeling its Armand but I could be wrong. Lol!) I think I mentioned this already but I'll say it again. I luv Armand. I think its because he's such a tragic character (having a hard childhood, being seperated from Marius, etc.) I luv Lestat too mostly 'cuz he's just such a funny guy and I can relate to him a bit (I know that must sound really corny but I am a brat like him and I love to act and stuff like that.) You have a vampire class? What kinda stuff do ya learn there? Is it a college course or something? Lol! Well, I have to go now. Its getting late and I have to finish my geometry homework (my teacher gives out way too much homework. Its at LEAST an hour's worth of homework every night. ) TTFN, Ta, Ta For Now! (OMG! I luv Tigger! Lol!)

Yeah, I do love Armand. He's got the most interesting past of all of them I think. But our dear Brat Prince definatly has appeal. Looove Lestat. Like his past, too. From harecatcher lord to rock king. Yeah, I have a vampire class, and yeah, it's college. I'm in my second year. It is good. We mostly learn that everything in Dracula is sex. Absolutly everything. I'm almost afraid of when we get to read interview. Cause there the sex isn't just subtext. That sucks about your geometry homework, i hated that class when i was in highschool. Good luck on it! Bye.
Vampires don't have sex in the human sense, they can't.  It don't work no more.
That's not quite right actually.. In the book Pandora, Pandora has sex with Marius after he makes her a vampire. It does work, but it's just not as satisfying now anymore. The bond they have after Marius made her is just so much stronger than sex. Sucking each others blood is much better.

I loved all of the Vampire Chronicles, but I especcially liked the book about Pandora as you may have guessed by now. I was so happy when Anne Rice wrote a book just for her, for she was my favorite right after I read Queen of the Damned.
I must agree that Memnoch the Devil wasn't what I was expecting. Lestat just isn't the Lestat we used to know and love....
But I love the tales about the vampires, like Merrick, Vittorio, Armand. I even saw that there was a book about Marius now, but I still need to read that.
I'm looking forward to that, because next to Pandora, Marius is my favorite.

About the movies: I totally loved interview with the vampire. I thought the movie had the right atmosphere and music and I loved Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as Lestat and Louis. I actually think that they couldn't have picked better people. Queen of the damned on the other hand sucked! Stuart Townsend is not Lestat and allthough Aaliyah may be very beautiful she is not Akasha. And don't get me started about what they did to my poor Pandora! She is not from India people! Really! And just one line! And she dies! Pandora doesn't die in the books! *plots to kill the people who made the movie Queen of the damned*

Anyway that's what I have to say about the Vampire Chronicles..

To Arisu

Yayness! Someone else who luvs the VC! Razz *Big Hugz to you* Lol! Wow! Someone who likes Pandora. She's cool. My favorite woman vamp as a matter of fact. Marius is frickin' awesome though. He's my third favorite after Armand and Lestat. So MtD is really that bad? Well, thats okay, I'm not gonna read that one anyway. Right now I'm reading Blood and Glood whichs is MARIUS'S story! Yayness! *Claps* I'm only in the beginning right now 'cuz I'm reading two other books along with this one (A Stephen King novel and an Anti-Republican novel that my dad lended to me to read.) I'm so curious about seeing QotD (I was actually planning on making it a part of my "Mischief Night Horror Movie Blow Out" where my friends and I spend Mischief Night watching our favorite horror movies. So far we have a bunch of Stephen King movies and IwtV on the "MUST SEE" list. But QotD was taken out 'cuz of the sex. <_< ) I'm actually really P.Oed that they took out Daniel! (I read somewhere that there is NO mention of the reporter boy!) How can ya take out Daniel?! He was such a big part in the book and him and Armand's chapter was my favorite part of the book! Grr! *Frustrated sigh* Oh well...leave it to Hollywood to ruin a perfectly good book. <_< My friends and I might make our own version of QotD (we make amatur movies in our spare time) but we have to find actors willing to kiss 'n stuff like that (but one of my best friends knows some homosexual guys who would love to act so this could be their big break! Lol!) I might play a part in the movie too, but nothing major (someone mentioned that I should be Lestat or something but that wouldn't do the book justice and honestly, I don't look a thing like him. Just the eyes and the hair length and thats it. I think he said that 'cuz I'm gonna dress as Lestat for Halloween this year. Very Happy ) Well, I have to go now. TTFN, ta ta for now!

Really? Didn't know that, haven't read that one yet. And probably won't for awhile unless I somehow manage to get free time...Already have a bunch of books I need to read... Anyway, great to have someone else who likes VC! We were starting to think that we were the only ones on the forum! And Sliverwolf, making a movie of QotD is such a cool idea! I wish I could help, that would be awesome! You're lucky your friend has connections, none of the guys I know look anything like the vampires. I wish I could see it when it's done! It'd be cool if you could put it online... Heh, good luck on the Lestat costume!

Just wait what they did to Armand in the QotD movie... You won't be happy believe me.. But at least they did a better job on his appaerance... The only mistake in Interview with the Vampire (the movie) was picking Antonio Banderas to play Armand... He is just not Armand! He doesn't look that young and his hair is all wrong... And I just don't like Antonio Banderas except in Shrek 2, but that's besides the point..
And I thought it was stupid that they left out Daniel in QotD.
The totally changed the story in that movie! WHY.... WHY?
For example in QotD the Movie Marius is the one who made Lestat while in the books Magnus did. And I could go on for years about all the mistakes...
But QotD was taken out 'cuz of the sex
I don't think there was sex in the QotD movie?

Actually if you want to know the whole story you should read MtD. It is a part of the Vampire Chronicles after all, and I was glad I read it even though it wasn't as good as the other books. There are some references to Mtd in "Pandora" for example.

Crud! Man talk about irony! Lol! Razz Apologizing for future mistakes when already there's one right in the apology! Lmao! Laughing Yeah, I tend to laugh at myself a lot. Lol! NEwayz, I guess what I was referring to was the fact that I'm not new to FanArt Central in general (I've been a member since...I think it was March but I could be wrong.) But I guess the Forums are like a whole different section than the Fan Art section of this site, right? Lol! NEwayz, thanks for pointing that out (I had a feeling I screwed up.) Hey, when will I not be a newbie anymore?
...Maybe you weren't joking.. but you meant in a comedic manner..

Yeah, I was joking about that whole thing. Its just that I get a 'lil steamy (if I may use your term) when people will go on a topic that discusses yaoi between two characters and they only say things like "OMG! LESTAT'S NOT GAY! HOW DARE YOU EVEN THINK HE'D KISS LOUIS!" <_< I just wanted to get a message across that if someone decides to flame me or anyone on this forum then I'll just make you look very stupid 'cuz it says right there in bold letters (kinda like that) that there IS yaoi talk here so tread warily. But yeah, I can see where it may seem kinda threatening but truth be told, I'm not the aggresive type. Just the "Has-A-Smarter-Way-of-Proving-Someone-Wrong" type. Yeah, I'm not sure but I THINK I'm going on and on about the same thing (kinda like last night's debate...I fell asleep through it!)
Your posts are long and informative and I like your writing style. I think you'll fit in well
Awwwwwwwwwwww! I feel so loved! ^_^ Thank you! I really appreciate the welcome!

Okay, since this is a VC discussion, I should say something VC-related. Lol! Yes! I am really hoping to make my own accurate version of the QotD movie. The only thing standing in between us and this movie is actors and my mom. Y'see, she's been on my case about my intrest in the VC (she's a Catholic and so am I so reading about vampires is against our religion I guess.) She says that after Halloween, she says that I can never read the books again! Surprised So yeah, I have to really move my arse with this and at least finish Blood and Gold before Halloween.
I don't think there was sex in the QotD movie?
There wasn't? My mom (who claims to have seen scences of it on talk shows 'n such) said that there was and told me to put it back ('cuz two weeks ago I was gonna rent it and let out any anger at the movie before I watch it with my friends and drive them crazy. WTF? ) But once again, she don't like vampires so there's another reason why (well not true actually 'cuz she let me rent IwtV for the second time. Razz )

Well, thats all I have to say for now so...
TTFN, ta ta for now!
Heh, heh, heh...I'm having fun with the QUOTE button tonight! Lmao!

Mmm I can see that your mother never read the books, for they are kinda religion filled themselves. Especcially Memnoch the Devil. I think the books are kinda positive about God and everything. Ok the Vampires are more demon than angel, but in Memnoch Lestat even meets Jesus. And turns down the devil.
But I'm not much of a religion freak myself (I'm actually a chronic non-believer) So I could have it wrong.
I know there were some protests to Memnoch from religious people, but personally I don't get that. They should be glad that Anne Rice wrote that there are a God and a Devil. If she would have denied their existence they had more right to be mad. And I don't believe she was very negative about God and positive about the devil. Not at all actually..
But it has been a long time since I read Memnoch so I could be wrong.

And I don't understand that parents tell children to not read books. Books only make you smarter, even if it is about "unholy Vampires"
It's fiction people!

And there really isn't any sex in QotD the movie. It doesn't get any further then kissing and biting in necks and stuff.
Mmm I can see that your mother never read the books, for they are kinda religion filled themselves.
Actually, truth be told, I did lend her IwtV right after I finished it ('cuz she became curious when I started raving to my bro how awesome the book was and how I couldn't wait to read TVL and TVA.) I think she read the first hundred pages and she stopped. She says it was "too dark and depressing" for her taste (which confuses me 'cuz a week later we had to find a book store in FL so me and mom could buy some books and she got this book about some girl who was abused or something...I would think that would be more depressing than Louis's tragic tale. WTF? ) Oh, and I should say that when I went to a book store two weeks ago, I did pick of MtD and tried reading through it (it seemed okay at first. I was actually pretty bad and I flipped for the last few pages to find out if Armand really died...it sounded like he did and I was pretty depressed the rest of the ride home. But then I read TVA and he was alive so I was happy again! Razz ) There are many reasons why I'm forbidden to read MtD (did I already mention that MtD was specifially forbidden from me?) But the main reason is in the title itself (Devil.) If it has "Devil" or "Demon" in the title then I can't read it. My mom forbids it and I have to abide to that rule. . . . . But my mom has a good reason to be so afraid of the devil 'n such. Apparently in her hometown, some friends of her's were playing with one of those Ouiji boards and from what my dad told me (he was the only one who would tell me part of the story 'cuz my mom won't tell me) one of the girls got possessed and went insane! Surprised Yeah, it creeps me out now but I don't let the fear rule me. I follow the Ten Commandments, say prayers when needed and I think that keeps my sould on God's good side. *Cough, cough* Yeah, I just figured that I should give out the whole reason now so y'all know (Gawd! You'd think from the way I type, I was from TX or something instead of the Northeastern suburban girl I am! Lmao! Laughing )

Okay, subject change! Lol! Let's see...*thinks for a new subject for a sec* Oh! I know! What's your favorite VC quote? (This is for anyone who stumbles on this topic.) I know! Its so hard to choose 'cuz there are some really memorable quotes but my absolute favorite quote is the very last sentance in QotD when Lestat says (and forgive me if I get it wrong, I don't have the book with me right now...I left in my locker...<_<)

"Yes I know!" I said loving to see the anger rise in his face, "Tell me again! I'm a perfect devil! Say it again because I don't think anyone will ever say it quite like you. Tell me how bad I am, it makes me feel so good!"

I love that quote. It just seems to sum up Lestat and Louis's relationship so well. Lol! Razz And there were some quotes from TVA that I really liked (*cough* although they are mostly about what Marius and Armand did in Marius's bedroom...anyone else remember "Marius's punishment with the switch whip thing?" Lmao! Wink ) But I won't mention them here 'cuz I don't feel like typing that much right now. Lol! Well, I think thats all I have to say for now. There's no news on the movie and as far as the Lestat costume for Halloween goes, I'm all set with it! Yep! I have these cool brown pants that are kinda Eighteenth Century-ish and my mom has a button-up shirt that I can use and my hair is already blonde (not blonde-blonde like Lestat's but its dirty blonde with Lestat-blonde highlights) so I'll just crimp it and put it in a messy low ponytail and I bought these fake rubber fanges (that are frickin' huge! WTF? I'm gonna look like Lestat with over-bite! Lol!) The only thing I'm worried about is hidin' my *cough* busty chest ('cuz last time I checked, Lestat didn't have breasts! Lmao!) A friend of mine suggested wrapping cloth around my chest to bring it down a bit but it ain't gonna work. <_< So if I do decide to post a piccy here of the finished product (which I probably will if I remember to bring a camera) please excuse the feminism (is that a word) of Lestat! Lmao! Laughing I really wanted my ten year old brother (who actually does have black hair (but he recently high-lighted the tips Lestat-blonde) and green eyes) to dress up as Louis but he doesn't want to wear a black wig or dress in old fashioned clothes (maybe I should've told him that he can just go out the way he is with fangs and he can be modern-day Louis! Lol!) But it wouldn't be so accurate 'cuz my bro (who's only eleven, mind you) is taller than me! WTF? I'm like really short so my nickname among my family and friends is Mini-Lestat (or Lestat's Rabid Clone! Lol!)

Whoa! I actually typed a real mouthful here! Lol! I'm gonna end this now before I remember something else! TTFN, ta, ta for now!

My favourite quote is from the book The vampire Lestat and is said by Gabrielle:

"Satanic is merely the name they give to the behavior of those who would disrupt the orderly way in which men want to live"

And this one by Lestat in Queen of the Damned:

"None of us really changes over time; we only become more fully what we are."

Hmm...well, I can't remember the exact wording, but there's a line that goes something like: "I am the greatest evil, the evil that looks exactly like everybody else." Lestat of course. I'll post again or edit this one when i find the exact wording but it's late and i'm in a hurry.

It sucks (s'cuse the pun) that your mom has a problem with the books. It's odd, my dad is as conservative and Catholic as you can get and I first got VC from him. Good luck on getting by without.
(Gawd! You'd think from the way I type, I was from TX or something instead of the Northeastern suburban girl I am! Lmao!  )
Might not wanna stereotype, I've got a friend from Texas who types better than me, and I'm also a NE suburban girl.

Good luck on the costume, hope it goes well!
Might not wanna stereotype, I've got a friend from Texas who types better than me, and I'm also a NE suburban girl.
I should really apologize for that statement. I really wasn't thinking. Y'see, I also have a really good friend from TX and we make jokes like that all the time (she would sometimes answer a question with "Naw" and she'd add, "Gawd! Listen to my hick talk." But really she was only joking and we'd laugh afterwards.) But since is is from TX then she has a right to make those jokes, I don't. And I wanna apologize to anyone who was offended by that. I promise to do my best to lay off on those stereotype jokes. And Thirteen_Black_Roses...you're a NE girl too? Thats so awesome! Razz What part are ya from (not specific but like in the north like Maine or New York or are ya farther down like Connecticut and MA?) Me? I won't be specific but I'm towards the center. Right in between NY and MA as a matter of fact.) Lol! Its pretty boring up here isn't it (well, maybe it isn't for you but where I'm from, there is really nothing to do...except for driving down to the more exciting cities like NYC or Boston, I've always wanted to go to Boston.)

Okay, this is getting off subject and I don't wanna get in trouble so I'll add something VC here to keep this post VC-related. Lol! I did wanna mention that there's one more quote that I absolutely love! And its said by my favorite character! (Armand! Very Happy ) It goes something like this:

"If I'm an angel, then paint me with black wings."-Armand

I just thought this describes Armand excellently 'cuz thats really what he becomes throughout his immortal life: a fallen angel with black wings (artistic liscense right here, I'm trying to be poetic so don't take that last statement literally.) I really loved his book TVA. I actually cried while I was reading it (it was durring the part when Santino's coven just tried to kill Marius and they took Armand and the other boys to their catacombs and they were killing all the boys and getting ready to kill Armand.) I felt so sad for him and I could feel his hopelessness as he believed that he lost all that he loved and cherished. It was a really moving book and I really wanna read it again. In fact, I might just do that now since the book is right next to the keyboard. Lol!

Hey! I just got an idea for a new question! Okay, what do you think was the most moving scene out of all of the VC books and why? I know, there's so many to choose from (Louis's lost of Claudia, Lestat and Louis reuniting, and the list goes on and on and on. Lmao!) But there must be one scene that you were particularly moved by. So remember sequences and let the tears fall again but don't worry, its only for a short time.

Well, thats all I can think of to say for now and once again, I am so sorry about those stereotypical jokes (especially to you Thirteen_Black_Roses, I didn't mean to offend you.) It won't happen again. Oh, and y'know the funniest thing? My mom actually was the one who bought me IwtV and therefore introduced me to the world of the Vampire Chronicles. Man, did she ever rue that day! Lmao! (But I should really thank my 'lil bro's best friend's mom because she actually was the one who recommended the books to me when she saw me reading a Stephen King vampire novel and she said something like "I'd think you would really like these books. You actually begin to like and even love the vampires!" I think I told my mom this and a week later she bought me IwtV. Lol! Oh! Another topic question! How were you introduced to the Vampire Chronicles? I'm just coming up with a bunch of questions tonight! Lol!

Okay, seriously, I have nothing else to say so until the next time, I bid you adieu. And may Lestat or Louis or even Armand make a visit to your bedrooms tonight (not for that reason! Nothing perverted, I swear! This might be an inside joke between my best friend from TX, whom I'll refer to as Tsumi now 'cuz I might mention her a lot since she loves Louis.) GAH! I'm thinking of more stuff to talk about but I don't wanna type. I'll just save the story of Tsumi's bedroom, Louis, and me for another day, 'kay? Lmao! TTFN, ta, ta for now!

Don't worry, I'm not offended. I just didn't want anyone from TX to come across it and get offended. I have nothing against jokes, but you never know who's reading it on something like this. I hope I didn't come across too badly, it was just a friendly warning, I wasn't mad. I'm from Pennsylvania, btw. And it's cold. :(

Still can't find that quote and don't feel like pouring through the entire book at the moment. Maybe later.

...Now I wanna draw that image of Armand with black angel wings.

I really don't know what the most moving moment of the books was for me...but the one that made the biggest impression was in Queen of the Damned when Jesse dozed off in the old flat in New Orleans that had belonged to Lestat, Louis and Claudia. Gaslights that weren't there started flickering and a disconnected phone started ringing. Then Claudia appeared and attacked Jesse, sending her fleeing in terror. That scene still scares me when I read it.

I was introduced to VC by my Dad, who has most of the books. That's how I've read them all, I only have Interview and QoD myself. He's got the Mayfair books and Anne Rice's sister's series about werewolves too, but I haven't had time to read them. I will sometime...that's what I keep telling myself anyway....
