[b][i]ENOUGH[/i][/b] with the "who likes ____?" crap. Period. This topic is not a place to whore your ridiculous pop punk shit and find out what other lemmings like them. Answer the topic at hand or make a [i]useful[/i] new topic. "Who likes ____?" is not a discussion, and quite frankly no one cares.

90% of current singers are mediocre and pretty. That's it. All pop punk singers sound like whiny teenagers, all boybands sound like they were kicked in the balls, and all pop princesses sound like cheerleaders who sing in the shower.

No more "Who likes Good Charlotte/Sum 41/System/Beastie Boys/any other insult to music" posts.

Hey! Duff's not just a pretty blonde. Sad

I love 14 Years and while I'm not much a fan of the song, his cover of "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory" isn't half bad, either. His voice can be a tiny bit annoying 'cause he's got a bit of that "surfer dude-esque" accent, but other than that he can carry a tune fine. Plus he was drunk off his ass 99.999% of the time back then, anyway.

And for the record, Axl was the sex kitten of Gn'R. Not Duff. Wink

Though Duff and Slash got their fair share as well (and to a point Izzy, n' he's well known to be the best shag out of them all...). Of VR, I'd say it's Scott followed shortly by Duff.

But back to bad singers, let's see... Johnny Rotten? Razz

But he doesn't count, 'cause he never made an effort to sing. On a technical level, Axl is a shit singer. He's very hot or cold live, but it's the engery n' attitude that makes him one of the great frontmen of all time. And numerous outfit changes. Rolling eyes

The Evanescence chick is horrid. They do so much work to her voice to make it sound the way it does on the record, but she sounds horrible live. Nowhere near the studio tracks.

Axl's a good frontman, not a good singer. Just like Taime Downe is a good frontman and not a good singer. Unless we're talking overall "singer" as in frontman, not singer as in their vocal ability. Axl has a lot of trouble staying in tune. He probably [i]could[/i] be a good traditional-style singer, his speaking voice sounds like it, it's just not the way he performs n' that's fine. More interesting that way.

He actually sounded pretty good after Slash and Matt's solo on "Use Your Illusion II". Not bad, really.

But he does have issues to work out. And the screaming gives it the raw-edge power.

As for tuning, yeah, you're right there. On the live version of "Sweet Child O' Mine", he didn't really make it sound much better.

He has his moments. Hot n' cold. In some cases he's amazing in others he's out of tune and all over the place (provided he even shows up). The Illusion DVDs are great. But put him next to Jani Lane, who is a classically good singer, and Jani is better. Nowhere near the frontman and performer Axl is, but Jani has the range and consistency Axl doesn't. A good frontman is not necessarily a good singer, since Steven Tyler, DLR, Mick Jagger, all of them are not classically "good" in the way some others are. But they're unique and hit the notes, so it doesn't matter.

Meh, same argument for Nikki being a shit bassist. His technical skills are poor (and nonexistant in the beginning), but his performance and style make up for it. Good performer, bad bassist.

I can't even count the amount of rubbishy singers we have in England and Europe. I'll just say 'the Cheeky Girls' for an example. For those of you haven't heard them sing, be grateful. They are extremely untalented.
