I felt this deserved it's own topic, as the movie just blows that much. I know it's an old movie... but I just finished watching it two minutes ago. This had the worst visual effects... but I'm not going to get into that. This is just the same old sh*t that has been done to death. The characters and plot reminded me of Armageddon, but without the notable and attractive actors. The leading man just made me feel awkward the whole damn time. He just seems out of place the entire movie.. because by looking at him .. he should be working in a retail store of some sort. The dude is ugly. The whole time I was watching it I had to block out his face with my hand. Hope that cleft out freak is gonna take the money he made from making this stinker and get himself some plastic surgery.

WTF was up with this Rat character... okay he's a super smart computer hacker nerd freak. They use him to stop this info from getting out to the world. yay rat. So why the hell is he involved in the control room scenes... or on the ships in the end? All of a sudden he seems to have obtained so much knowledge about the earth and it's core... and he's a whale expert too! As for the actor playing rat... i know he has the whole nerdy look going for him right now ... or he did... havn't seen him in many new roles.... but for f*ck sake get a nose job. It's gross to look at. Any close ups of the guy, or side views of him make me want to just barf. And yeah i'm aware of the guys past issues with illness and stuff.. i don't care... get a nose job.

As always... the head man in charge is an idiot. Everything he decides to do is wrong. That just gets old. ... as for Hilary Swank... i guess I don't have anything against her. It's kind of hard not to picture her as Teena Brandon though. I think she made some mistakes when she decided to do this movie and 'Insomniac'.... no good.

Worst movie... waste of time.... and seriously... the lead actor in this... is just.. disguisting to look at. I hope I never have to see this dude in any other movie.. or show... I'll have to find out his name so I can scan credits before watching a movie. If his name appears... I ain't watchn it.

Well, yes you are right when you say everything he does turns out wrong, but I do disagree that the main charector was that ugly, though not the most handsome person in the world, definitley not ugly enough to have to block his face with your hand. I think the computer-geek dude wants to look like that, so people remember him. It was strange how he knew all about the core, and everything to do when there down there, and yeah it was wierd when he immediatly knew about the whale calls.

Overall it was a bad movie, but not [i]that[/i] bad

... yes he was ugly enough to have his face blocked the whole movie. Well.. at least half way through the movie. And I know the geek guy is all about his dork look... I wasn't complaining about him.. too much. Only about his character. i regret the time wasted watching this movie. I could have been sitting on the computer.. ..

I think that the core had a good plot,
But thay chose bad actors!

we went to see the new Star trek movie, In the previews fot the core the geek guy said
"give me hot pockits and a lot of Star trek tapes.

Later when i saw a preview for it on nickalodien, he said "give me hot pockits
and a lot of soungebob tapes."
