I hope nobody misinterprets this as self promotion, it's just that looking at the western stylers topic I realised I had trouble classifying my own style, so I thought I'd get it cleared up. and what better way to do that, than to ask the FAC people? this is my gallery. Better look at my more recent pictures.

Comic, Lexar. Your style is definitely comic.

I don't really agree. There is a lot of manga influence in your work. Right there in your icon, for example: Large eyes, sharp, expressive eyebrows, undefined nose, facial angles that aren't true to life - to me, "Lexar" looks more like a manga character than a western style comic hero. Actually, he looks like a character out of some fantasy video game; which is not surprising, since so many of those are developed by the Japanese.

Valid points, but I'll still say comic. The overall look of the work, I feel, is comic, even if the parts are slightly manga-ish. I here what you're saying, though.

Maybe this is why Lexar himself is so confused over his style.

I'd agree with L. Aurora and say it's comic/western style art, but there is definitely some influence of anime/manga style there.

Very nice!

Ah, Lexar. Your stuff really is a challenge to say one way or another.

It's neither and both at the same time. I'd say, like someone left Anime and Comic styles alone for an afternoon together to breed. I think that's why I like it, really. I'm no real fan of anime, but you take the best out of it.

Mreh. I cannot vote! I don't know the answer! XD

I would say it's more on the western side, though if you don't get any definite answer out of this poll call your style "Wenga" (west + manga, this term was used by the writer of this happy Christian comic http://myangelsnow.tripod.com/shelterofwings_016.htm) or coin some crazy word to make yourself feel better....why pick when you can say both? Har har...

at this point in the game, I don't think there is a way to or reason to tell the difference n.n lol

"anime" style is supposed to be Japanese Animation style right?
but there are so many different variations of this (from video girl Ai to Dragonball) and everyone and their mother is drawing this way now, not just the Japanese

so, whatever n.n lol you wanna call it Anime, do so as you wish. You like using the word comic better, more power to ya.

It's up to you. You're in control of your work (it's like a poem, no one can tell you what the F**k it is if you say otherwise!! lol)

It is time to sing a song by the great Hikaru Utada that fits this situation perfectly.

I don't want to crossover
Between this genre that genre
Between you and I
Is where I want to crossover
Cross the line
I just want to go further
Between here and there
Grow wiser
Together you and I
We can cross all borders you and I

 So it might not be the best song to descirbe this topic but to answer your question you don't have to be defined by a genre, your work is unique. And it doesn't mattter what genre it is as long as it gets better (which it is) So it isn''t western comic/anime styled. it is Lexar style ^__~
