I always did think that Snape had a bit of Vampire blood in him! Attitude wise, though, I think he just had a crappy childhood. I mean, James and friends were always picking on him, and I don't see him as having a very happy home life either...
But yeah, definately some vampire somewhere. Maybe only a generation or two back, and that's why the other wizarding families don't have it. I don't see how he could have dementor blood...how would that even work....and who would want to have sex with one of those things in the first place...*shudder* |

Yes, Aurora, come to the dark side!
Seriously, it never crossed your mind whenever you read a description of him? And look how pale they made him in the movie! JK Rowling did have imput with that, and Rickman said he knows things about Snape that haven't been in the books yet. And he lurks in dungeons! I bet he wants the DADA job so he can make sure that nobody finds out, he's probably scared of someone going into too much detail about vampires and someone finding out, the way he did with Lupin and werewolves. |

Theorys? Like, what, he's gay or something? Secretly has a fetish for young boys? Maybe that's why he follows Harry and Ron around everywhere. _________________

Yes, come to the Dark Side! We have cake. ^_^
While we're on theorys about Snape, how bout theorys about why fangirls seem to think he's hot? I mean, have you seen some of these pictures? While they're very well done for the most part (there's this one of Snape in soft bondage and no shirt...) they don't look anything like the Snape in the books who was described as rather less than attractive. I don't know why anyone would have a fixation on him anyway, I hated him in the books at first....
Maybe it's the vampiric charisma. |

I always imagined him looking somewhat like the Penguin from Batman Returns. ^_^ _________________

Will, for saying that, I declare you a legend.
Theories as to why fan-girls think he's hot? I don't know - I've seen the wierdest fixations on people even worse than Snape. Maybe it's the 'mystery' around him - although I've never found him that mysterious. In the films, he just seems slimy. |

Actually I was looking through the book over the weekend, and failed to find any mention of vampires. When Lupin returned after Snape assigned the essay about Werewolves, the first thing he did (after canceling the essay) was teach about hinkypunks. I looked through the rest of the book and at no time did I see a mention of Lupin teaching anything about vampires. |

I agree entirely, you should see Snapesnogger's work...I think you're decribing one of her pictures.... I drew a picture of Snape that was not so flattering....()^_^ ......and she left a review saying "JK Rowling Never said he was ugly." It was in response to my description trying to convince people that he is!!! But who cares ....I like him anyway! It makes him more interesting to me.
I don't know why anyone would have a fixation on him anyway, I hated him in the books at first....

You may ask "Why do you think that the greasy excuse for a potions master is soooooo damn interesting and (ICK!) popular?" The fact is for almost all of the first book we thought he was the typical Jafar molded meanie "most trusted advisor" bad guy trying to kill harry, and we didn't give him much thought otherwise, when...*!BAM!* Surprise! He saved harry's life and was trying to protect the stone! Dont tell me you wearnt expecting to see Snape beside the mirror the first time you read it. That to me is very interesting. Facinating even....and on top of that we learn he's a spy against Voldemort! I've never read a character such as Snape.
I've always liked the Bad Guys....but this time the "Bad Guy" really turned out to be a sort of "good guy." That's the big appeal....there are many sides to him left undiscovered.... _________________ Mohawks are beautiful sculptures |

That could be it, I know for sure that when I looked at it I turned green with envy...wish I could draw like that, and he looked reeeeally good in that picture, and I don't even care for him! Never imagined Snape having that great a body.
You could be right about the bad/good guy thing. I don't know...maybe because the evidence against Snape was so overwhelming I actually wasn't surprised when it wasn't him, it was the fact that it was cowardly little Quirrel by the mirror that was surprising. And even though we know he's on Harry's side now despite his past and the Dark Mark, he still doesn't like Harry, or Lupin or Sirius, which is why he's still unlikeable for many people. Probably mostly Harry/Lupin/Sirius fangirls. I do really want to know more about him. He may not be the most appealing character in my eyes, but he's growing to become one of my favorites because there is so much more than our first impressions of the slimeball teacher out to "get" the main characters. It's hard to find characters with that kind of depth. I can't wait to see what Rowling does with his character in the next book. |

He is one of the most complex characters. If we're going to be honest, Harry isn't, really. OK, I'm sure fan-girls everywhere will hurt me for saying so, but he just doesn't have the depth to him that people like Snape, Sirius and Lupin have. |

IMO he's just a bitter old man whocan't get over the fact that he was bullied in high school. Probably because he was such a suck-up with a nasty disposition. He thinks he can take out his revenge for James on Harry, and that's just so shallow and petty that it makes me sick. I'm not trying to justify James' actions in any way, I'm just saying that holding a grudge against a dead man's son for something that happened during their school days is pretty low. I mean, James was a teenager and I'm sorry, but that's what teenagers do. We're brats sometimes. But he grew up and found love with Lily and Snape is still trying to punish Harry for what James did.
Long story short: I don't like Snivellus. _________________ |
