I noticed (a loooooong while ago) that with Profile comments the paragraph spaces don't work automatically so you have to type in

or
and that worked fine and dandy n.n

but with the last few profile comments I've left o.o they're not working (someone pointed this out to me saying it wasn't working for them either)

has it been disabled or is it some sort of glich?

Ah, I was starting to wonder about that. Okay, now that HTML is disabled, we need something to allow carriage-returns so that multiple paragraphs don't get jumbled up into one big chunk of text....

I was wondering, how do you use BB code? I know a lot of html and I was rather dismayed when I found out it wasn't working...

Basically, you just use square brackets instead of angle brackets. Ever click on the little "BB Code Help" link under the smiley box? Wink

Alright, but does that apply just to the message board...? Becuase, I can't get BB to work on my fanart profile. I thought BB WAS just for message boards. I'm really confused... but I can't even put an image on my profile or paragraph text..

Yeah, it would be nice if denis could just link in the forum's bbCode-handling functions ... but he has to write all the code himself.

Currently, [b] [i] and [u] tags are supported, and he's working on the paragraph (line-break) issue.

I wouldn't expect any support for the [img] tag though -- user profile bio was never intended for images anyway. Part of the reason for implementing bb code in the first place is to have control over what features are available or not....

Myself I'd like to see support for the [url] (or [url=____] ) tag since a few links here and there are useful, but that's a secondary concern.

Alright. I just don't understand why Denis had to change it in the first place....
I don't really need images, I just want to be able to use

As far as we know, his decision was based upon waaay too many people in the past trying to use too much HTML in their user profiles, and if they left one of their tags open, it tended to make break the "Edit Profile" interface... and HE was the one who'd have to fix it....

oh! Surprised That definitely makes sense. I always tried not to have too much on my profile. Just 2 or 3 quiz results. But, as I said, I'd just like to be able to seperate text.. because right now I'm having to seperate lines of text with dashes. Oh well. I'll live Laughing

Yes, too many people used their profiles as personal webspace with 15 quiz results and pictures and tried to add too much html they didn't know how to use, breaking their profile.

I could point out a few names, but in their interests I won't ^_^

I notice one thing though -- the new changes only apply to [i]editing[/i] your user profile? I mean, I haven't updated my profile bio information in ages, and it's not affected. (Not like I'm complaining much though, I have like two paragraphs and maybe two links on it and that's all)

Yes, only new/edited profiles/stories/etc. Existing ones are unaffected.

Yeah, the quiz results started out harmlessly enough but when you're entire bio is made up of every quiz you've ever taken T.T you need to take a step back from the keyboard....

hope they all try to add one soon n.n lol

So what, exactly, is allowed now? Just text specifications or....what?

You mean this?
[quote]It does support links tho. Supported tags are: b, i, u, s, sub, sup, email, color, size, font, align, quote, code, img, url, list, ulist, li[/quote]

I dropped a few test comments on my user profile the other day, but the only ones that worked were b, i, and u ... url, list, color tags didn't work (unless of course that's by design) ....
