Right now I have six WIP's in my sketchbook, because five of them I wanted to draw out together (as in, one right after the other). I've scanned two of them already. But if I were to show it off, I'd probably get laughed at...
. . . wait a minute, since when do I even care if I get laughed at? _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I'm currently working on a 10 page manga that I intend to have published locally here in PI. I'm already on page 6, and working on the rest.
This is one of the planned covers that I want to use. So far it's just a sketch, and will have additional backgrounds (either through computer or manual means) later on.
Let me know what you think.

Isn't that whatever-her-name-is? Looks like she's in trouble.
My latest WIP is pretty simple, I guess... first time I've planned out a full scene in at least a few years... but it's hard to draw small objects. I can't detail the sketch very much either, since most of it I'll take care of during the actual coloring/shading. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

@Drake:
Yep, that's Kasumi Iijima, from the manga I'm making, which by the way has found a sponsor! YES! I submitted the first 3 pages I finished, and they liked it! Will be publishing it sometime this year! yay!
Anywhoo, here's an unfinished work of mine. Another re-design of a famous Go Nagai Super Robot, U.F.O. Grendizer.
This one is the Shin Seiki Goukin version, called U.F.O. Grenkaiser. Since it is unfinished, I have two versions.
This is ver. 01

and this is ver. 02

The latest one I am working on. Once I clean it up I'll use a combination of Photoshop and macromedia to color it. _________________

I know pretty much everyone (myself included) likes Link, but personally, I am sick of those tights. I mean, he's been wearing them since the 80's, people. So I decided to update the look a little. Mostely colored, but I havn't added the metalic elements yet, or the tone, and I'm trying to decide upon a background. _________________

I'm sure the background will look great, Will. ^_^ I like the picture above that, too. The coloring is going to look so awesome with all those wires and monitors. It always does.
Ummm... here's something I'm considering spending some time on. Those last two images I never finished, so let's see if I can actually complete something for once. If not, I can always finish it from the books up and crop off the desk and body. It's a girl sleeping in class. Ahh, so close to home. _________________ |

this is something I sat down this morning (4am est) and started. I havent had any time to draw since I started on learning a whole new plant and process in taking a new managerial possition, but I need to get a Christmas pic up at Comics and Art for 2004 pronto. so I decieded a couple days ago to draw CC (forground) and Toni walking, talking and shopping, in a Christmas setting, in Lahaska Pennsylvania. its a very popular destination if you want to blow big bucks on little trinkets, in a town thats older than dirt ( its beautiful though). Ive just about finnished the pencil and hope to get the inking done tonight. Ill then paint it sometime this coming week...

Whoohoo! Finished the pic of Link! I think it turned out really well, but I guess I'll let you people be the judge of that. ^_^

That should look awesome when its finished.
Here is what I am working on. I've colored it and added the shading. I still need to give the metal highlights, and some more lighting effects are needed for the coolio ball of magical enenergy she'll be holding. Also deciding on background. _________________

I know this is a thread is about work-in-progresses, but let me say THANK YOU for showing me this pic! It's beautiful. Equally important, though, you've illustrated to me how ppl "paint" with photoshop. I'm a traditional artist (meaning, I work with non-computer media, lol) and I've always wanted to learn how to use Photoshop effectively. I want to learn how to color my images using the program. I never knew how ppl were able to get that "paint" effect until now. In fact, I used to think ppl COLORED their drawings first, then scanned them in Photoshop so they blur the colors around. I know, I'm so stupid. |

Hmmm... this is a comic strip I did for my ENDS class. I drew this with marker and pen in a limited time frame, but since class time is over and it's been graded I'm gonna seriously revamp this sucker. I'm gonna use Photoshop to fix up some stuff like the borders, lines, and use the text font feature. Because i did those "lines" free-handed" some are pretty off, lol. I also hope to clarify/fix some things. Of course, I can't wait to color it! I'm hoping to get that same color-painting effect you can see from the Devil May Cry comic series. So, obviously, those cross-hatching lines and stuff will be gone. Anyway here's the before look. Hope to post the final version of this one-page strip by next week, before I head home for the holidays. |

Ack! Too... many... attachments..... connection... slowing... down...
Anyway, sure I'll share. I have to break in my new sketchbook, and there are a few things I've been meaning to draw in quite some time. Here's a preliminary sketch of him -- I'm still not totally sure about his legs. If the feet look a little stubby, that's because i haven't put his claws in yet. In one try, can you guess what the dragon's element is going to be (don't just guess, point out details in the drawing that suggest it).... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I'll just link to it, since the file size is a bit large. That's an oekaki pic I've been working on since Feb. 2003 (not steadily...that's just when I started it). I let it sit, then go back in and tear parts out and redraw them. D: I gotta quit doing that if I'm ever going to finish (which is why the perspective errors that are in there now are just going to stay). |
