Fanart Central Awards

ok, after searching the forum's deep inner forgotton catacombs, i found this neat little discussion called "the fanart central awards." our good friend layzcarter (whom i've yet to meet) is the ringleader of this project, yet we have yet to see a conclusion from it. atleast, none that i can find.

i've noticed it's been in a few user's signatures, most notably two of the forum moderators/site helpers. it's suprising how this could have been forgotten, especially since the deadline was over two months ago...

so what's up with the fanart central awards? has it been abandoned? or am i just simply not looking hard enough?

The FAC awards feel a little too much like a popularity contest to me, to be honest.

mid december? ok, i thought the forum thread said september 25th. since i joined recently i never recieved the newsletter i guess. Sad

I decided to prolong the nominating period due to lack of nominations and time to work on the project. Seeing as how this is the first time this has been done, it's going to take a little longer than expected.

As for it being a popularity thing, in order to win some of these awards... there actually has to be some skill present. If 50 people nominate puchiko-chan because they are her friends... Her submissions will be looked into to see if she really quailifies for the award.

Sorry for the delay but the last couple of months have been busy ones. Time will be taken aside for the awards soon enough though.

In the meantime.. it would be nice if anyone who reads this tries their best to get the word out, so more people can nominate.

Lazycarter's right -- these are [i]nominations[/i], not [i]votes[/i]. The final decisions will no doubt be made by fair and balanced persons of FAC site staff Wink

since i have nothing else better to do, i'll just comment on everyone's profiles telling them to come down and nominate their favorite artists/whatevers. is that cool with you guys? i know it's your project and i'm new, but i don't want to intrude... just tell me if i can or can't, and that'll be cool. Razz

ok y'all, here's what i'm going to begin infesting FAC with for the next two weeks:

Fanart Central Awards! Nominate your favorite members in the FAC forums to win awards. From your favorite artists, writers and site helpers, there's a fantasmal number of awards you can nominate your favorite artists for. So come down to the FAC forums and log in with your account, the nominating will be open until mid December (15th), so there's only a limited ammount of time before the nominations close. You never know, you might win something too!

For those members willing to partake in the FAC community, come to the forums and interact with all the charming personalities there. Almost anyone you can imagine meeting in this world is clumped in the forums. Get art tips, suggestions, commissions, or just have a good time chatting with chums like Powtaz and Lexar. You're bound to extend your while if you come down, so come and have fun. There are also communic reasons to visit the forums every once in a while. From talking about new rules and policies to be implemented and features that should be added to the site. Don't forget to visit the help forum for any questions you may have (tech support etc.).

For those of you who are new and haven't recieved the November newsletter, you can be directed to the forums where you can read the November newsletter in its entirety. News regarding the site and future (possible) additions are all listed in this newsletter, so go check it out!

Also remember to add your favorite artists to the "Artist of the Month" quarry (that means me!).

So remember, go vote for your favorite artists and writers for the FAC Awards, don't be left out!

well taking a look at the average age group on FAC o.o and considering that's what High School elections are....

....yeah, it probably is. Not supposed to be, but that's how the nominators think.
