Well, yes we have heard this quesion asked about a hundred times before. That's why it's item #2 in our FAQ thread, in the Help subforum.

Anyway, go to the FAC homepage and log in. (It's a separate login session than the forums). After that, find the tab that says "Add Fanwork", and away you go Wink

It's called an avatar.

Go to my controls. On the menu bar on the left side you'll find 'edit avatar options'
Get an image or use on from the base gallery, select it, then press the 'update avatar' button.

It's as simple as that.

[quote](yours is a dragon)[/quote]

Heh, not just any dragon I found somewhere, but one I drew myself. Which brings up another tip: Links in signatures. Right next to the avatar options you'll also find signature options. Many of us put a link to our FAC gallery in our sigs for easy reference.

You see the links in my post? Starting with the little fine-print paragraph I call "A Lament of Newbies"? You see how it appears on all of my posts?

[b]THAT[/b]'s a "signature". It's something that the forum adds to your posts automatically and every time, so that you don't have to do stuff like that in every post yourself.

Now, about that attached image. Do NOT under any circumstances attach an image to every post you make, especially the same image. If you want it to appear under all of your posts, create a signature and use the [img] tag to link the image to your sig. You can copy the URL by right-clicking on the attachment or by linking a picture from an image-hosting site elsewhere on the 'Net.

[quote]i love your drawing you draw really good[/quote]

*yyaaaaawwwwwnnn* I've heard that line enough times, it doesn't mean anything anymore.

when you WANT to save a pic as your favorites, you have to be logged in.
There should be an option right below any comments left.

When you have already saved a picture as your faves, it'll be on your profile.

[img]http://img93.exs.cx/img93/6881/untitled568.jpg[/img]

Here's the picture you want in your sig:

[img]http://img93.exs.cx/img93/4486/post-9-1101688619.jpg[/img]

Just copy and paste this URL into your signature and it should work fine:

[code:1][IMG]http://img93.exs.cx/img93/4486/post-9-1101688619.jpg[/IMG][/code:1]

Hope that takes care of everything ^^

My sense of patience is [i]very[/i] durable when it comes to answering questions....

Anyway, where do you find your favorites? Memorize these two URL's:

http://www.fanart-central.net/user.php?aid=
http://www.fanart-central.net/profile.php?aid=

Just add a member's username to the end of the URL and you can look up their gallery in a heartbeat. For example, this is the link to your FAC gallery listing:
http://www.fanart-central.net/user.php?aid...neverseemsright

And this is the link to your FAC profile page, which [i]includes[/i] the stuff you've faved:
http://www.fanart-central.net/profile.php?...neverseemsright

Bookmark them if you want, or just remember that "user.php" is for viewing artist galleries and "profile.php" is for viewing their profile info & faves Wink

Cropping and resizing/shrinking: Two of the most basic ways to reduce the size (dimensions) of an image.

Cropping reduces the size of the image by eliminating unimportant details around the edges. You highlight what you want to keep, and crop it to eliminate everything else.

Resizing on the other hand reduces the size of an image as a whole.
