Slipknots actually quite alright. My fav.s are Wait and Bleed and Duality. AFI's a good one, too. _________________ <MARQUEE>

Saw their show here. Left after 15 minutes of onstage stupidity.

 Like who? Last year was the best year for shows in a long time, and that's rather sad. Bowie, Aerosmith, Kiss/Poison, Velvet Revolver, and Def Leppard, but half those weren't even in Portland. Billy Idol and David Lee Roth came through the year before. Usually all Portland gets is big pop acts that can fill the Rose Garden (Britney Spears, Boybands, etc.) _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. I'm fuckin' pissed. Velvet Revolver is coming THIS TUESDAY to the House of Blues. I can't go because it's a school night.
I begged to go, I swore I'd pay them 20 bucks a month from here on foward to go, but it was a final no.
And 98 Rock won't stop ADVERTISING IT.
As well as Chevelle and Hatebreed. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

I don't like Metallica. It's too machine like to me.
Slipknot came here and did this weird piece of crap where Taylor said after the first song "Ok, we're done here....PSYCHE!!!!!!"
It was retarded. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

I saw Seed of Chucky at 12:30, but my folks stopped caring about "school nights" a long time ago.
That whole "psyche" thing is retarded. I mean, how incredibly old is that to play a couple songs and say "thank you very much, you've been a great audience...Nah, just kidding, this song..."
Which is still ok, but "psyche"...is he a 12 year old girl? _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Slipknot can not write lyrics worth crap, but their instrummentals are pretty decent. I like "When Worlds Collide" and "Wait and Bleed". Two of their cleaner, more understandable songs. _________________ |

Yeah, man. Metal has lyrics.
Sexually explicit lyrics, although now they're whining lyrics.
I'm glad I missed the Papa Roach show here. I go to as many acts that come by to tell people how much they sucked(or ruled, by any chance).
But come on...
"I tear my heart open
I sow myself shut
My weakness is
I can't do much
But our scars remind us
That the past is real
I tear my heart open
Just to feel"
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude......... I could have told you this around the time of conception...
"Scars remind us that the past is real".. well no SHIT Sherlock.
Can't anyone be a stoner "I fucked your girlfriend and she loved it" wise ass rocker?
On the other hand, Nirvana's "When the Lights Go Out" is interesting. Appears Kurt could play some Zeppelin. And there's a lot of skill on those discs.
Amazing.....Wish I owned it. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

well, unlike you guys, some of the more hardcore metal fans could give a flying turd about lyrics. they just like deep, yelling heroin-induced banter. ^_^
astoundingly though flea, that's why slipknot yells. just to cover up the fact that their lyrics suck. ;)

Not all metal bands scream to cover up their sh*tty lyrics. Just because slipknot does doesnt mean everyone does. Opeth screams and they have some pretty damn good lyrics.
Edit: Oh and fallen Velvet Revolver sucks live, their singer is horrible. |

I rather like Scott Weiland. I know very well what he sounds like live, your opinion doesn't change mine. ;)
EDIT: And my reason for even wanting to go was Duff, anyway... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Lol Kour...tis be Neko! Blah...so many people favor to hate Slipknot cuz they suck live, well who cares you should love them for their music other than live...and they dont always suck live, sometimes they do good...and the whole thing about being idiots on stage and being sidetracked and everything is sometimes a good thing considering they can sometimes be funny ^_^ |

Er...no you shouldn't. I can understand liking a record and the physical performance being bad (like stage presence and stuff like that) and still liking the group, but if they can't perform the music live, then that's a bit...odd. I mean, whether they use a lot of production to get their recorded sound I don't know, but more often than not it's the fact they can redo something over and over and over and take bits and pieces until it's really good on the recording, but if you can't do the same thing live...what's the point? Obviously a group can't be expected to sound the same live as they do on albums, but if there's often a drastic difference... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. What are you talking about? Weiland is a good singer and I've heard the live performances.
Yeah, and after this, I'm gone. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.
