Some lined paper drawings are nice, if you can see them clearly enough. Others... argh, we won't go there. I think I have like one or two drawings up on lined paper :/ Besides, Lined paper is allowed, I think. Denis wants it to be, and I kind of agree with him on that aspect. |

Well yes some lined paper drawings are nice but, would it kill someone to redo the pic on white paper? |

Look, as far as i see tha damn lined paper, is it's lazy, looks cheap, uncared for and like the person didn't even try, i don't care if it's a damned good drawing or not. If you can't simply transfer it onto plain paper later than your just plain lazy or inpatient as hell.
And denis said from what you posted about the quality control thread you made, was that i was more or less a base idea and everyone could put their opinions down.
I did and will, i don't like lined paper drawings, i don't like looking at them, even if it's from someone who i normally like, i don't look at it, and i sure as hell don't leave comments for people are are to lazy to put it on plain paper.
In the end, it's Denis decision and i'll just have to do go by what he wants, it's his website, his money and time going into keeping it up. So yeah, i accept it and agree that it's his decision, not mine, not yours, or anyone else's on this damn site really. He's the boss and i'll listen to what he wants and just follow the site rules and regulations, blah blah blah.
But that still won't change my opinion on it, but i'll bite my tongue, i got a lot of practice of doing that. |

Eh... I'd redo it, but it's not that big of a deal for me. I think I only have one on lined paper posted. If we change the quality controls (I don't disagree with getting rid of lined paper, I just want to do what Denis wants) then I'll delete it. I'm not even close to being attached to that drawing. I have tons of drawings that I could post right now, but I'm too lazy to scan |

it's so annoying when people spend all of 5 seconds on ms paint and upload it like it's something worth looking at _________________ |

Um...not all work is lineart. Lineart is easy to transfer, but other things are quite a bit more difficult and would take hours of work. I'm not saying allow lined paper, 99.8% of it is crap, just that I've seen a few artists on DeviantART who even make their in class doodles look amazing (like drawn on the back of notebooks, folders, binder paper, etc.) with so much detail, shading, and stuff it'd be horrible to transfer and for the most part the person makes it work.
Not that many people put that much effort into it. Just kinda irking me with everyone saying it's so easy to transfer pictures. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

It's too bad when really good art ends up on cheap paper, but it's really the art itself that counts. I have all my free time during lunch hour (too lazy to make lunch and too cheap to buy it), so I usually try to remember to bring computer paper just incase anything turns out half-way decent. _________________ |

What annoys me? Oi. This could or could not take awhile.....
First things first, those who spend NO time what-so-ever on thier drawings, then turn around and scan in every little piece of paper with doodles that they can find laying around their room in....
Two, those who sit there and whine when things aren't going there way, and how people don't comment...which leads to...
Three, those who post things like "I'm leaving fanart because you a bunch of meanies so there!!!!11! XP" and then turn around not even a week later and are back posting...
Four, overly large pics. I can honestly say, if I click on a pic, and it's oversized, I'll usually go back before it has a chance to download.
Five, how people are complaining about the approval system, Good gods, it's actually a good thing...
Six, how people draw the same pic of the same people in the same friggun' poses 24/7. If I wanted to see those pics, I would open up my anime insider or newtype and look at them there...
Seven, How the only thing people can say in a comment is I like the hair or I like the eyes...(which I guess I can't really complain about because I do it too... ')
Eight, a no duh, but spammers, flammers, and art stealers...
Nine, people who draw on lined paper... even if the pic is gorgous, it still looks messy and in a way like they took no time to draw it no matter how detailed.
As far as I'm concerned, if you take time and put time and effort into it, it's art...but if you can't at least make it presentable, why show it?
Wow...I've been a bit of a rambling bitch....
*walks off*

people who are too lazy to crop or resize
If you're too lazy to do that, how are we supposed to expect you to spend time on your art? _________________ |

I can't stand it when a person posts a picture and they say their artwork sucks. I mean if you think your stuff sucks why bother posting it? It irritates me to no end... it's just a pitiful cry for sympathy... like they expect everyone to just pat them on the head and say "Oh don't say that you art is beautiful! *hugs*" _________________

my pet peeve is that sometimes, more than once that a person would make a mistake in rating a picture and would never go back to fix it! ggggrrrrr I just hate that! Just fix it and be over it I say! |

You're welcome, lasher. Just speaking my mind.
As for lined paper art, I think it can be quite nice if the theme fits that type of paper. Maybe a kind of poetic, angsty theme. Something that the artist specifically chose lined paper for. [::suddenly has great idea for a project::] But when your everyday, run-of-the-mill sketch is done on lined paper, it shouldn't be posted. There's a term for these kind of drawings: practice. If you must get others' opinions, post the image on the random image board. That's part of why it's there.
Oh, and another pet peeve I have is so many pieces of crap recieve a bunch of comments and the truly good work gets so few. That bugs the living snot out of me. |
I can't stand it when a person posts a picture and they say their artwork sucks.
I'll admit that I'm guitly of doing that once. I spent a few hours on this one painting I was hoping would turn out looking awesome, but was so pissed at myself after it didn't meet my own expectations. I reacenly changed the discription from "I don't like it" to something more like "not my best work, but still worth looking at". _________________ |

At least its more positive sounding. If you tell someone that your art sucks, I believe that theyll be more inclined to think its bad.
A new pet peeve: drawings that take up 1/20th of the paper. _________________ 222.

I can't stand people who give themselves cool screennames, then do a crappy drawing. I'm not mentioning names but I'm sure you get the picture. |

Adding onto that, I really hate BAD names. Especially the "_____'s gurl" ones like that because there's way too many, and I can never keep them straight. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Ever notice how a lot of people are "Dark Something" nowadays? And then you see their pics and there are all these rainbows and lolly pops. I don't get it. _________________ |
