i want to see it. it looks like a good plot. princess monoke was the first anime i ever seen i and it got me hooked on it. amazing graphics, and the story was spectacular.
spirited away was real big in japan. they had it in theaters becuase of the money it made over there.
serial experiment lain...i want to see it. i have seen a few episodes though.
Kiki's Delivery Service is like...child's anime.
FLCL is just crazy
excel saga another comedy.
Grave of the Fireflies a real deep movie, about a brother and his little sister after ww2.
Blood the last vampire is an awsome movie. go see it now!
Demon City Shinjuku good animation...although i only saw one episode.
has anyone ever heard of 3x3 eyes?

o.o i've seen/read at least a dozen of those on cstdenis' list...

Kiki's Delivery Service
Spirited Away
Blood The Last Vampire
Love Hina
Love Hina Again
Love Hina Spring Special
Azumanga Daoih
Noir
FLCL
Ranma 1/2
.Hack//Sign
.Hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet
.hack//Liminality
Hikaru No Go

i suppose Yami No Matsuei is slightly obscure, since not too many people know of it...

ITs good. Very Very violent.

The origional version does have some adult scenes, but the US release had them edited out. A second "directors cut" US release has most of them put back, but still is not completely uncut.

i saw another anime. i forgot the name of it becuase it was a long time ago. it was about a little kid and his sister. they moved to the country and then they started seeing these...black things. they looked like fuzz balls. really weird and creepie. i didn't get to see the end though. and another movie where a kid loses his soul on halloween and his friends go after it.

The first one is Tonari no Totoro (My neighbor Totoro) by Miyazaki under studio Ghibli. Not sure what the other one is.

Wow, cstdenis has seen a lot of animes! ^_^

Here are obscure animes I have seen and some that I plan to see (soon, hopefully):

Movies
--------
>Princess Mononoke - it was okay.
>Millennium Actress - I don't know if a lot of people know about this movie. Most of the people I've asked have never heard of it. I really liked it though.
>Saiyuki Requiem - I've seen the series; unfortunately, I haven't seen the movie. I'm planning to buy it though, eventually, when I have enough money. I hate being poor. . . . .
>Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - I hope to be able to borrow it from a friend of mine this month. Either that or we're going to watch it together.
>Ninja Scroll - my brother wants to buy it, but he's never got around to it.
>Osamu Tezukas Metropolis

Series
-------
>Serial Experiments Lain
>Geneshaft - I saw a couple of episodes, I didn't quite like it.
>Master of Mosquiton - I remember this. I first saw this when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I vaguely remember what it was all about, but I do know that there was a vampire and a girl with short red hair. And it was a funny series too.
>Final Fantasy Unlimited
>Niea 7 - uhhh. . .this for me, was a weird and rather confusing series. The ending left me with a lot of unanswered questions. It was interesting, though.
>Now and then, Here and there - I saw the first few episodes. I liked it, but my busy schedule kept me from watching the rest of it.
>Dual - Hehe! Kazuki is such a lucky man, having all those girls in love with him.
>Trigun
>Sakura Taisen (Sakura Wars) - I found it quite boring. Iris was the only interesting character.
>FLCL
>Cooking Master Boy - a really good series. Who knew anime that had cooking as a subject would be so great? It's funny and entertaining.
>Ranma 1/2
>Fushigi Yuugi (TV)
>Fushigi Yuugi (OAV)
>.Hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet
>Ah My goddess
>Boys Be
>Galaxy Angel
>Bubblegum crisis 2040
>Gensomaden Saiyuki
>Akazukin Cha-cha
>Slam Dunk - another fine series. Supposedly for boys, but girls love it as much as boys do, maybe even more. Why? Go figure. Smile
>Magic Knight Rayearth
>Voltus V (Voltes V) - a classic series. It's really old. Some of my aunts and uncles used to watch it when they were still kids. They really liked it, especially the opening theme, lol! It's addictive.
>Zoids - I don't know if you're going to like it, I sure didn't.
>Strange Dawn - Even though most of the characters are really cute and look like chibis, the anime is not really for kids. It deals with serious themes and issues.
>Doraemon - a fun series. Now this, is something the kids can enjoy along with the older generation.
>Recca no Honou (Flame of Recca)
>Bakuretsu Hunters (Sorcerer Hunters)
>Gate Keepers
>Gate Keepers 21
>Hunter X Hunter
>Vandread
>You're Under Arrest
>Shadow Skill
>Weis Kruez
>Monster Rancher
>Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko
>El Hazard: The Magnificent World
>Jigoku Sensei Nube (Hell Teacher Nube) an excellent series. Watch it! Very Happy
>Vandread: First Stage
>Vandread: Second Stage

You mean "The Halloween Tree" right? While a very good movie, I am very certait it's not anime, it's American. I've had it on tape since I was like 6. It was actually based on a book by the same name. I can't remember the author of it but if you go to the library I'm sure you'll be able to find it in the Children's section. It's actually very cool and goes into a lot more detail regarding Halloween/Harvest festivals from different time periods all over the world.

Yes YES! Banzai Mahou Tsukai Tai! Banzai!
Sorry that's one of my favorite animes EVER. I have both the OAV and TV series. I love it! XD

Lol, I marathoned it with my friends, it's awesome. Aburatsubo just makes the show. I've got two volumes of the TV series I borrowed from a friend, maybe I'll actually have time to watch them when break starts this weekend! ^_^

Yes Aburatsubo is grand isn't he? ^^ You should definatly find time to watch the TV series, the animation is of a slightly better quality, and they get deeper into character depth then they do in the OAV. Plus you get the meet the gender confusing Jurei! ^^ I still don't know if that kid is a girl or a guy.... >.>

I think it's both. I've seen the series, unless we didn't watch these during the marathon....I dunno. But I did see at least most of it.
