Uh... Are you talking about SO2? Because the original SO was for SNES and it was never released outside of Japan.
I've never played SO2, but I have seen the majority of SOEX, which is an anime concerning the first disc of the game, and it looks pretty good. Ashton is the best. X3
I thought that SO was a better game than most of the Final Fantasies. I liked how the battle system worked, and I loved the graphics. They were amazing, for a SNES game. It was, of course, the reason why the game was so short (finished it in around 10h), but I still thought it was fairly good. I'm also pretty sure that this is one of the few RPGs where if you try to rob from NPCs right in front of their faces, you get in trouble. XD
Story of SO2 is about the descent of one of the characters in SO who gets sent to another world (because he's an idiot >_<) and before going home he decides to help save the world he got sent to (some evil source is destroying it, of course). ^^; Ah yes. Stereotypical super hero. Oh. And the people of the world he got sent to thinks that he's a legendary hero-swordsman type dude. X3
Which makes me wonder: if you're their Saviour, why on earth do they still make you pay for items and equipment? I've never understood that. o.o;

Lol. I don't know anything about that game, except for the fact that it takes place centuries later from the events in SO2. ^^; _________________

Lol. Although, honestly, I don't think any game's voice acting could be as bad as the stuff from FFX. XP Blegh. Horrible, horrible stuff.
So, tell me more about SO3. ^^;

Okay.. where should i start .. lessee .. the battle system changed a bit, star ocean 2 i think you could take in the battle more than 3 charecters, but in star ocean 3, only 3.. which sucks a bit but is alright i guess.. and there is some similiar things in star ocean 2 and 3 i dont want to spoil alot on the story , but there's the item creation and the cooking if you remember it, its in star ocean 3 as well... you will first start in a hotel, and play a girly dood*as always* called fayt, and just like star ocean 2 .. its a kinda long game.. or maybe its im kinda busy i see it like that?..., lol ..dunno. |

Oh, I want to play it now, but first I wanna get Xenosaga 2 and Shining Tears (but I'll have to wait for those to come out... ^^; )...
Dude. The cooking and the item creation things were so cool. o_o I loved messing around with that stuff when I played SO. One of my favourite things about that game. ^^;
What's the basic storyline and characters? If you can tell without spoiling. ^^ _________________

FINALLY!!!! Another person who plays Star Ocean. I'm a huge star ocean fan!!! I have all 3 games, the dvd, the music soundtrack, 5 posters, a manga book that was never published (My friend's cousin's friend's next door neighbor's friend's aunt is the publisher and heard how much I loved star ocean and gave it to me) and I have a Cluade plushie . Plus I downloaded a whole bunch of music from star ocean. That was a long time ago. Anyway, the battle system takes time to get use to. Basically, in Star Ocean 1 you play Ratix, a young boy who ends up saving the world. Basically, there's this disease spreading around. It can turn anyone to stone just by a touch. They recieve help from these people from the past (or was it future) that explain what's going on. Some chemical polution or something caused the desease to start. So they go back in time and save the world. That was Star ocean 1. Just background info. Star Ocean 2's main character is Claude, Ronixis's son. Ronixis helped Ratix save the world in Star Ocean 1, back to the point. Cluade is traveling in outer space when he accidentally lands on the planet Expel (sp?). There he saves Rena's life. Rena mistakes him for the legendary hero of Light. So they set off on a journey to find out more about Rena's past and about the Hero of light. Did I mention the battle system is really confusing at first? If you ask me, it relies too much on luck. Plus they still use those cheap chibi figures, and the voices are annoying. But the storyline and the game itself is really fun. I love Star Ocean, just look at my signature. |

I love the battle system, it's a hella lot more interesting than the generic turn-based system. And battles don't take nearly as long to finish (case-in-point: FF8's Ultimecia). ^^;
...
I thought Claude was a retard. :/
Ronixis: Don't touch that!!
Claude: ... *touches it anyway*
>_< That's how the anime went, at any rate. =P
I liked the chibi characters. ^^
Manga that was never published? That doesn't really make sense, you know. =P I know you can get them in Japanese (I've seen them before) but I wouldn't know if it was licensed in english. ^^; You have the first game? I was pretty sure it was released for the Super Famicon, in Japan only... You have a copy of that? o.o; Wow.
... Have I mentioned? Ashton is awesome. ^^; He seemed so very gay in the anime, though. =P Heeh. ^^; _________________

Ok, yea, I have the first Star Ocean game. And the story behind the manga is pretty confusing. The short version was, the manga was supposed to get published, but something happened and it was postponed. The first3 manga books had already been sent to the publisher though. (My friend's cousin's friend's next door neighbor's friend's aunt is the publisher) Anyway, so it got sent to me since I LOVE STAR OCEAN!! lol. anyway, if you heard the whole story, you'd be upside down right about now... it's a great game though huh? |

Ashton's cool, yeah, but you have to give up recruiting him if you want Opera (sp?)though.
Rachel:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! (yeah, she's an Ashton fangirl, like me )
But Opera kicks tail!!! She's really good. |

Lol. When I play games, I always play with the people I like in my party. That's why I'd probably say,"Screw Opera, I'm keeping Ashton." Also, I like challenging myself; a game isn't fun if you use cheap characters (caseinpoint: Cid, FFT). _________________

...Well, yeah, I guess so. I've played through the second game twice and am on the third try. I got Opera once and kept Ashton the rest of the time. Still Opera is SERIOUSLY GOOD. |
