As you might be able to guess from my avvie and FAC gallery (if you feel like looking, that is), I do love to draw dragons. But I'm more interested in hearing what your favorites are first. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Ah, I used to be obsessed with dragons. Haven't done much with them in years.... I do love the Pern series by Anne McCaffery, loads of dragons there. Eregon is also very good, I can't wait for the next one, and of course we can't forget Smaug from the Hobbit. I need to get Joust by Mercedes Lackey, that looked really good....
However, I shall always love 'Jeremy Thatcher: Dragon Hatcher' by Bruce Coville. It was one of my favorite books growing up, and I still like it.
It's been years since I've really drawn dragons...I should start again... |

Off topic, but yeah, start drawing dragons again. I like to comment on dragons, ya know? ;)
*clears throat* Anyway, I can't really say I read any dragon-books. I've really only read one -- Dickson's The Dragon And The George. I guess I'm really finicky, the only dragons I truly like are my own, because dragons are too often used in really clich ways... evil trickery, sacrifices and hoards of treasure, etc.... I'm sick of clichs like that. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Yessir! Been ages since I've done a dragon...well, that I spent any time on at least.

Does that have any connection to St. George and the dragon? |

The title's a parody of it, but the story itself is of no relation. It's about some guy who gets somehow transported into 14th-century medieval fantasy, and trapped in the body of some other dragon. It was the start of a series.
There was a cartoon based on it, too... I forget what it was called though.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I read the Dragon and the George! and one of it's sequels. Those are some good books. The dragonlance books are always great fun too! One series I'm paticually fond of is the Dragon's Blood Trilogy by Jane Yolen, I was quite obbsessed with it a few years ago. _________________

I haven't drawn dragons in ages. I'll do one up soon, I guess.
Honestly, I've read a lot of dragon books (in fact, most of the ones thus far mentioned), but I didn't actually grow really attached to many of them.
Although... there was this one dragon book that I absolutely adored... I can't remember what it was called, though. It was about a young dragon that lived through the medieval ages and survived until modern day, and what happened to the dragon as it grew up. ^__^ _________________

I never drew dragons until I got a request for one my sophomore year. i really need to scan it in again and post it- very colorful and many wings... Usually I don't draw them because they turn out looking like random demons, though.
Anyways, I don't really read a lot of fantasy, depsite how much I write it. My brother got this cool Dragonologybook for his birthday, though. It was cute. |

Anyone hear of Tooth and Claw?
I remember seeing it the other day when Mom brought it home to read. Not much of a reader, myself.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA
