Ack, it's that time of year again. I mean, don't get me wrong, i love winter, i like the cold and i'm crazy for snow (god i want a blizzard so bad ) But everyone runs around like damn chickens with their heads cut off i swear, it's pure madness. It gets annoying real fast and just down right sucks life/energy out of you.
I know a lot of people who literally have their schedules from late novermber through new year, some even valentines, packed to the max! It's more than crazy by now. Some of my friends are spending one day with one family, the next up in Connecticut with their aunts and uncles, then in Mass. with their grandparents. Then in New York up in the mountains at their family's cabin then back down for New year and all over the damn eastern coast.
What are your plans? all mine contain are moving, unpacking, painting, adjusting to the new house and all that. Yep, we've skipped the holidays this year. Depressing? Yeah, kind of. |

It's further up north and closer to the border of Penn. More mountainious, which i love. And it snows more up there. So hopefully i'll get some snow sometime soon. Wee! And the house is surprisingly warm so i think it should go well. Thanks
And yeah, we've never really done anything that big in my family. Just get everyone their presents, wrap em, open them up on christmas morning, have a dinner and that's it really. I guess i just don't like running around like a made person, or understaind why others have to really. Oh well. I just kind of feel bad for them. It has to be tiring. |

My Christmas has always been a huge event, all relatives to my house, from both sides of the family. Considering I'm still a kid, I dont have too do much (lucky me) just the usual chores. But my grandfather died not too long ago so I dont expect my moms side to come over this year. I dont exactly have any new or exiting plans this year, but its still Christmas, horah. |

Last Christmas (I gave you my heart...?) I worked a double shift, 15 and a quarter hours, because I was too far from my family to be with them so I figured I may as well work.
This year I'll be at home all day. And I get over a week off, from the 25th to the 4th Jan. Nice. I expect I'll have to do some visiting, but the rest of the time I can just relax.
Mind you, we have 11 for Christmas dinner, which will be an insane amount of work. They may yet find themselves with festive cheese on toast... |

Wow. Silver, that's a lot today. I think ym head would be spinning with all that going on. Although roasting the pig sounds fun I get this funny cartoon vision in my head where all these little little people are roasting the pig, setting the table, kids running around, grown ups arguing and laughing and drinking, and somehow, everyone manages to be bouncing up and down in dance like they do in those old cartoons I know it's weird but bah! whatever. You have fun, and don't forget your head on your way home.
Bahl, wow, enough for you to do. Don't you ever get tired with that much stuff today? Really now. I don't know how people do all that.
Rebus, 15 hours. Jesus, that's alot. But i won't go one much cause i'd die for a damn job and some money right now. I'm seriously hurting But i'm glad you got the holidays off this year and your going to have some time to sit back and relax. At some point i hope
Um, And zin, do you live in PA? I'm so confused. But don't feel bad, cause none of my relatives even call. Not a close family really, don't get along a lot of us. And bunch of crazy nut bags, racist, and all sorts of foul horribly miserable people. Bah! Maybe someday i'll have a family own and i'll make sure to them all in together for the holidays. Hell, even close friends. If i had a bunch of close friends in my area you'd be sure i'd have them all over for parties regulary and going out, gifts and everything. I'm like that though. |

I disagree with that statement. I like seeing the relatives, more so the cousins than the aunts/uncles.
Tomorrow is my older sister's birthday (yup, Christmas Eve) so we're going to do a small cake/gifts for that. Saturday's Christmas and our plans aren't really set in stone, we're hoping to visit the relatives in Salem for food, a gift exchange and a good time.
. . . Although, sometimes I do with that we'd have the family/relatives Christmas party closer to New Year's and not on Christmas Day.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I'm just going to do what my family does every year. Go to my grandma's house on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day, I'll just open presents, grab some sodas, and watch TV. |

In other words be lazy? Ruppy, how old are you again? 11, 12?
Coffee, i agree really. I don't know to many people that have that great of a time having to deal with relatives and all that running around and cooking and such all day. lol. Even if you do, you have to be tired and most will have a headache, wether they get along or not.
Stratadrake, consider yourself very lucky. A lot of people don't enjoy it as much. I mean they can, but after awhile it just gets to you with all the mayhem. You'd have to be a saint i think. But good for you |

wooo! ok, here's what i'm really (more accurately "have been") doing this week and next. i've been practicing the hell out of myself with my band, trying to get a hang of this guitar thing. christ, playing "the pillows" and "audioslave" songs on lead guitar is f**king hard. look at my fingers! my fingers! they're all blistered and bloody. anyway, tomorrow we'll be playing a christmas eve special at crossroads mall, then on christmas day we'll be playing a gig at some school (some winter festival thing they do durring break.) done with washington, we're going down to either oregon or over to idaho (whoever pays us the most ) to play a mini concert gig with a bunch of unsigned bands. playing there for the next two days performing for thousands of high and drunken teens, we then head back to washington where we'll play another mini concert gig on the 29th. why not take a break for a day! let my fingers rest... then we'll go back to our normal rotation (i'm not lead guitar anymore!) and play in some big new years eve festival/bash thing on the 31st. celebrate by boozing ourselves til we puke, then the next morning we head over to olympia to play another gig with a bunch of unsigned and non-mainstream (woo...) rock bands for new years day. hey whaddaya know, i played a gig on my birthday!? (25th = win!) then after the concert we go home, pray and sleep til the 3rd when we go back to schoolies. yay! then we practice some more. too bad for mike, he's getting his house fixed (rats? wasps? i dunno... something) and we have to practice outside our school for the rest of our returning week (3rd - 7th). then our fellow classmates can throw s**t at us. =3
no christmas break for me, just more work. :(
me = lead guitarist (temporarially) and front man
list of various artists we perform: the pillows (jimi = god, without him we would have me on vocals! lol...), marilyn manson, system of a down, perfect circle, linkin park, audioslave, mindless self indulgence (we suck ass at their stuff), slayer, korn, afi, riddlin kids and other various non-mainstream artists.
we did do one ac/dc and guns and roses song before... it sucked... we never did them again. :D
edit: shame on me! i forgot to mention we also do songs by nine inch nails and the deftones. ahh... we love songs like "around the fur" and "f**k you like an animal." |

$(^# you like an animal, sweetheart, is called "Closer" by title Sorry, but it's quite possibly my favorite song out there. And i adore that man to death. If i could lick him, i so would. Trent is just awesomely beautiful to me. Oh, how i want him
But yeah, you sound like you have a busyyyyyyy holiday. But hey, at least your doing somethng fun and very cool. And it just goes to show your dedicated to your music? I'm just waiting for flea to show up and tell you to shove it or something. Everytime i've talked to him about his band, he's had nothing but trouble and wanted more gigs. Poor guy, i really wish him the best of luck. the guy deserves more for as much as he loves that stuff. And you can't help but love flea. Even when his grumpy
But the best of luck on all your gigs and i'm sure you'll do good. Rock on man! |

thanks. ^_^ we're pretty dedicated, i guess you could say, but we really just have connections, that's all. besides, playing at one gig means someone will be there watching to sign a good act to their function, if you rock - you're in. we've done pretty well as to not f**k up on stage so far, but it came pretty close once when one of my strings broke! damn cheap-ass strings. <_<
i'm actually pretty happy playing on christmas and new years, it gives me a chance to spend it AWAY from my chaotic family for once. |

surprisingly, that's pretty much how it gets. ltitle kids runing around like mad chickens while the older ones (aka me and my 13-yr-old cousin, seeing as the bastard 19-yr-old won't do s**t and the 16-yr-old is more immature than the little ones) try to keep them from falling in the lake as they bounce from my uncle's floating dock to the yard and back, while the adults are either boozing or trying to maintain things.
and i've just been informed that my (insane, 16-yr-old) cousin is staying over from like noon tomorrow until reaaally late on Xmas day....@________@ |
