guess I should be more specific. oops. Anyway, I'm making a website using Freewebs. It creates the layout fro you and all you have to do is add the pages, links, etc. Well I made a page for Fanart and well...that's where I'm stuck. You see, I can't get a link up that'll let people post fan stuff. Like, you know here, there's a link, add fanwork, that lets you add pic, stories, etc. Well, I can't get anything like that to show up. Talk about a bad first attempt.

(Yep, this is my first time making a webpage...

I dont particularly want to help somebody who is trying to directly compete with me but I will say this.

In order to make a site like this with user submissions, you have to actually know what you are doing.

Infact, to make any good site you have to know what you are doing to at least some extent. There are enough crappy pointless sites out there already.

sorry! i'm not trying to compete with you! my site is dedicated to video games and anime forums! serious. I just it would be neat if people could post their fave pics from video games. But my site mostly revolves around guides, game hints, and rumors of new anime coming out. so sorry if having a fan section competes with ouy. Sad

Im doomed to be a failiure at everything, including explaining things. sry again!

Having a specific fanart section is one thing, but your previous description suggested you were just making another site like this (There is little point in competing directly with an existing successful site, unless you can actually do better).

Anyway, most free hosts dont give you the power you need to do automated user submissions. Your only practical option is to get users to email their submissions to you, and manually add them.

Ah darn it! Goes to show what happens when you try to do something that you've never done before and have no idea what your doing. Oh well, I'll check out your topsite and if all else fails, I guess I can manually add the fan stuff. If that's the case, I have a lot of work ahead. *sigh* oh boy... <_<

um, does anyone know how to make a guestbook? I tried but when I edited it, the thing wasn't there.

Either way, I can't get it to work. I figure, since I can't get my site to actually have members because I was stupid, I might as well have a guestbook. I should probably find out how to do it on my own but I'm too lazy... . . . .

In that case, when you created this site, were you thinking you could do better than elfwood or DA. I'm not saying that it is'nt, I'm just curious.

What's elfwood, I know Devianart, but I've never heard of elfwood. Is it a good site? Cause I don't think anyone can beat FAC.
