Yesterday i just moved into my new house, official that is (i've been up here before but haven't stayed, and before, there wasn't furniture...) And as i was poking fun at one of the movers and making jokes with them, helping to get things in the house and showing them where this and that went, the mail came. I was surprised we were getting stuff so soon, our old mail man (Greg, who i really, really liked. I miss him already Sad we talked a lot, great guy) said he was having our mail fowarded up to the new place but it probably wouldn't start coming for a few days. And surprise surprise, first day there we get some mail.

Something of which was a package...in a box...and for me? Mom asked who i knew from Nashville and my mouth dropped open "Will!" VR_Jay decided to send me a little christmas gift package Smile (i feel like crying, that was so sweet) I was so happy, i got something in the mail on our first dya there for one, secondly, it was a proper package and not just a letter or card which would have been nice even it had been and thirdly, it was from will and a present!

Now for anyone who doesn't know already. We skipped christmas completely this year. No decorations, shopping, no tree or presents or dinner. Nothing. And what do you know, someone sent me a present. I don't care if it wasn't a 300 dollar bracelet or a new cd player ( seriously need to buy one of those, lol) It was the thought that count, and the idea behind it was great and personal.

I'm a big believer that not enough people give personal presents with a story or meaning behind them. A true meaning or something really from the heart. Everyones gets new clothes, cd's, movies, maybe a new necklace or something. But me, i much prefer something with a story or meaning behind it. No matter how big or small it is. I often get really upset with family members and sometimes even some friends, when they just go out and get me something i rather get myself and save up for. Sure, it's nice, it's the thought that counts. But what i don't understand, is that when i tell someone i really want something different, especially when it's taking less out of their pocket, why they can't follow that. (Although if i had the money for it, i'll admit right now i would have expensive taste, i do really, i just can't afford it right now)

So what would be some gifts you'd like to get that would be nice but unexpected perhaps. Or something you've always wanted. Something that you could keep around for years instead of just throwing away when it goes out of season. Something that makes you laugh or smile everytime you see it? Or maybe, just maybe, what would you give?

On a side note, i'll take a picture of will's little present, it was cute, funny ,and i'll use it and have it up on a shelf...once i get some shelves to put it all on...and find a camera to take a picture of it...everything i need right now is in a box and which one i have no clue!

oo that's one of the sweetest things i've ever heard. i'm glad you had a nice surprise for xmas. and good luck with the move, i hope everthing works out with your new house!

umm as for a nice unexpected gift... well i can't really think of anything in particular, but i think the best thing would be a personal gift. especially something homemade or something different that fits me. i'd be especially happy if it came from a certain someone i'm fond of, but that's pretty unlikely.

Yeah, one of the sweetest things done for me. Really made my day Very Happy

And is that someone online or what? Cause you didn't name them so i just thought maybe you don't want them to know who you are. Or spell it out for them completely (god isn't that annoying, huh?)

On of my favorite places for presents is Red Envelope I've gotten a few things from there for people. Something i could add onto and make more personal or something that just seemed to fit in with a memory or what not. Or something someone loves but never expects for a gift you know?

I like browsing around there all the time.

Yeah, i know. I absoelutely love it. And although i don't like pictures of myself (back off people) i'm a picture person. I got really big into it over the past few years when i stopped kidding myself an realized i was subconsiously erasing memories, names, faces. I've been doing it since i was little to block out things i don't care to remember. But over the years, it's gone into the things i do want to remember without my realizing it. So now, i take a lot of pictures of things around me and people i met and i love being able to see them.

I never got why people take pictures, spend money to develope them, then put them away in boxes and albums and never really look at them. If there's something i can put a picture in, i'll like it. I'm gathering a colleetion of all sorts of frames. Black, wood, metal. And i love how they have things to put pictures in like coasters now and all these little nice things that are always out, so you always get to see them and share the stories behind them with others. I like being able to share my memories and such so i love that kind of thing. I want these coasters on there, they come in blue, purple or the clear glass that you can put photos in. That would so go with my one room i'm using as an office/studio/art room/spare room for when others come to visit. I don't have the money though. Maybe later though eh? ^_^

yea i regret not taking enough pictures of my friends. at my friend's sweet 16 last year she had a photographer there and you could line up and get as many pictures taken as you wanted with your friends, and then put in cool frames or mousepads or keychains for free. it was such a nice idea and now i have a bunch scattered throughout my room.

but that'll be so awesome when you have all your pictures framed and displayed in your studio/office! like a trip down memory lane... only less cliche.

Awww Lozzle that's so sweet! Will you rule dude.

Well the best present to me was actually a birthday present....
This girl who I've always had a crush on made me a birthday card this year. Haha she made the outside black and red (my favorite colors) and even drew all the candles (w00t it was my 16th b-day). And since things between me and her are almost always really bad for any reason you could think of, she wrote me a page-long note saying how much she's sorry for the way things are and how much she wishes we could both just be happy. Even I don't know what's going on most of the time with us.......

Also, it's not really a present, but my friend who I've only gotten to see twice in the past year since I met her sent me some goldfish(the little baked cheese fishies) and a letter in the mail. I don't know what I couldn't believe more--
that the goldfish actually stayed intact
or that she could actually send the letter successfully!!
Haha she's very silly. Hopefully I'll finally be able to hang out with her on Thursday and go see Meet the Fockers. Fingers are crossed.

Anyway, that's really sweet of you Will. Even I love those kinds of things every now and then. I really just want attention I guess. It doesn't matter if you buy me something for like 30 cents--That'll make my day.

Yeah i know alex. I like being able to just look up at a wall or on my desk and see something that reminds me of a good time or a person i love/care about. So i'm real cheesy and like things like that, i'll admit it *blushes*

But yeah, i have them anywhere i can in my territory (my rooms) I got two now! WEE! My bedroom though is going to be indie sort of in style though. Dark green walls with more colorful accesories. Anything indian looking, a little asian, and i'll put it in there. A little more cozy and all sorts. I'll have pictures in there, just different kinds of frames for them of course. Laughing I already got some colorful beaded ones. I need more frames though Sad I got so many pictures and so few frames. Dammit.

But yeah. The little things count and really do add up. Your right on that pyro Smile A few of us bought my friend ashley a tiny plushie sort of puppy dog for like $5 and a gel pen (she loves the gel pens) when she was having a horrible day ( i seriously thought she was going to snap) her smile was like a mile wide and she wasn't depressed for the rest of the day that i knew of. And she has it on her bed everynight now. It's the little things that count.

I love unexpected presents. Unfortunately most people just get me cash because I can never tell them what I want for two reasons. 1) It's either way out of what I know their price range is, or 2) It would have to be special ordered, and that's a pain in the ass.

People always ask if there's a particular CD I want, but it's not like they can run into Best Buy and pick it up. So for that reason, I just say it's their choice, and I get cash. Oh well. But I still love stupid gifts. Spencer Gifts is the best store ever. I get lots of presents there. Like this year a friend of mine was having a bad couple weeks right up to Christmas, so I got her a big sticker that said "Don't piss me off. I'm running out of places to hide the bodies."

Anyway, stupid gifts score big with me. And every now and then someone who really knows me will put in the effort to order something special online, but that's above and beyond a "good gift".

Hand made gifts are nice, of course, but most of the people who make their own gifts that I know do so in bulk. Ya know, like, make everyone almost identical necklaces or whatever. It's still appreciated, but the only jewelry I ever wear is my Van Halen necklace, so in that case it's like "thanks...but shit, now I have to wear it a few times...dammit!"

Yeah, in all honesty. When i first got the package, i was afraid to open it in front of anyone. I thought maybe will might have a joke in mind..perhaps..perverted  Last thing i want to open in front of my parents. It's ackward explaining those things. lol.

But those kinds of gifts are awesome. I love being able to give people gifts. It drives me nutz not having a job. I don't know how people do it. I've been drinking more i have noticed since i have been jobless. Probably not a good sign Uneasy Good thing the booze is in a box eh or i'd be in it now. I feel like s**t, i'm cold, and it helps me sleep. Pills don't work no more *coughs* any how, lets not go there tonight.

But yeah, funny gifts, stupid gifts, they're always good for a laugh and that sticker. Oh god, i need me one of those! lol. I love things like that. One thing that going in my little hangout room, is a huge board to put up little things like that of the sorts.

I can't wait to see my friend's face(well...since I've only seen it twice yea I REALLY can't wait) when I give her her belated Christmas present. She saw this skateboard she just fell in love with. She told me about it and said she really wanted it. Since it's totally sold out everywhere I finally found it online and I just paid for it today so once I finally get it I'll ride my bike (damn you jersey...) if I have to over to her house so I can give it to her and see the look on her face. Laughing

Dude, i can't wait until my birthday. I'm hoping some of my friends or family will get me some things for my new rooms. I've been looking at some posters of my fav bands for my purple room. It's going to be like my shrine to rock. But i don't want those freakin big ass ones. I want the small 8x10 ones which are harder to find of the ones i want god dammit. *mutters* My parents will never get that s**t though. They don't think those are presents.

That seriously pisses me off how much you can want something, especially when they're cheap (they're like $4.99 a piece!) Yet people won't get them because to them they're not presents. <_< What freakin jack@$$es huh.

I need frames like crazy too. It's things like that i wish i'd get more help on. I could make a huge freakin @$$ lists of things i want and could use but i doubt anyone would freakin use it for crying out loud Sad It depresses me seriously. Sad

Eh, my birthday is 3 months away so i can hope in the meantime. i don't know.

Ebay is awesome for old pinups. Every now and then you'll find someone cleaning out their old junk, and they'll sell their entire collection of pinups from Rolling Stone, Metal Edge, Kerrang, etc. Like...tons n' tons of them for really cheap just to get rid of them. Surprised

Personally I like big posters. Soon as I make it back to the mall, I'll get the huge Velvet Revolver poster. Giant Duff. Cool

Oh no! I like em too don't get me wrong. when i get my own place, the whole place with be decorated with all sorts of fun s**t. But i just have to small rooms. And i'm only having the rock posters in the purple room. My bedroom where i'll sleep, will be the red room and i want ti more neutral if possible. And well, i don't think my parents will like those posters elsewhere in teh house Uneasy So yeah.

And i want a wide variety. So with the 8x10, i can fit more into the purple room Smile See what i'm saying yeah? And i'm such a bitch, i hate buying used s**t. Unless it's brand new and all that, i won't buy it. Ebay pisses me off lately. I don't want used posters, i want them nice in crisp with no rips or what not. Or i'll be one angry mother......so yeah. I'll dothe damage, fine, my fault, but you know...i'll shut up now

Ha, wow. I take it you aren't the obsessive 80s tour t-shirt collector that I am? Razz Especially my favorite Faster Pussycat one from '89. It's been worn before, but it's still in perfect condition. But it's been worn enough that it's soft and just...nice.

You'd be surprised how good some of those obsessed teens treated their stuff. Especially the ones who have the huge extensive collections. One of these days I'll get one just for the hell of it.

Lucky for me, if I live with who I think I'm going to next year (or year after, depending), we have extremely similar taste and can both decorate from top to bottom in rock memorabilia. Cool

Nah, not a t-shirt person unless is says something like "Rock is god, so suck it" sort of s**t. I don't like the actual band shirts but shirts with messages pertaining to rock music if you will.

I'm more of a decorator. i've never been much for wearing that s**t i like on me. Don't know why. I just like to be surrounded by it. I love it when people meet me, then like the first time they see my room they're like "you listen to them? wow, i didn't know. hey, this is cool..what's this, oh my god..lol. that's funny has hell" lol. I express myself with my surroundings, not my clothes all to well. I'm weird likethat Uneasy
