God killed the non-believers for a reason.
But sure, I guess I could send a few bucks. |

You beat me to it, I was already wondering why nobody had mentioned it yet. I'm going to donate it when they'll be collecting at my house. Feels more personal that way. |

There was no warnings at all. That sort-a bugs me. I mean that didn't have any, at all, 4 hours after the quake, that something was coming? I donate but I don't have the nessary numbers to donate.

Maybe. But what exact reason? Do they not have a chance to believe? |

I can't believe it's taken two days for one of these threads to pop up. Kind of sad.
If i weren't in such a state right now i'd be one to donate straight away. I'm all for helping out on things like that and love the idea of charity. Hell, i was even trying to plan a charity drive of sorts i could do while i drive across the country to raise money for either 1) NYFD's 2) Armor for soldiers in iraq (from an army family so that's disgusting they send our guys off for no reason without any freakin armor <_< ) 3) Cancer research 4) HIV/AIDS research
Unfortunately, i'm more broke than freakin ever. Bought ten tiny pizzas at the store for ten bucks and some cereal. That's my food for the week God those pizza's taste like cardboard. But not i'm utterly broke. |

Aww you guys are so generous. I donated $20. ^_^ Just think about it, our money = gold over there. :P
Maybe. But what exact reason? Do they not have a chance to believe?
It was a joke, hon. But if you must get into an unneeded argument - they've had thousands of years to believe. The exact reason? For worshiping other Gods, for not believing in the Christianity and its principles. Let's not make this into an unneeded argument about religion etc. and all that crap, if you want to argue, create a thread in the spam section. I'll be sure to let it rot there. |

This doesn't bother me as much as the fact that if tremors are occuring worldwide now, if a tremor hits Yellowstone National Park, it may cause an even bigger cataclysmic reaction.
And if they couldn't predict THAT, they may not predict the Yellowstone Incident. If I'm right, the incident will be the worst this generation will ever experience. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Why would hitting Yellowstone be bad?
And if it was a joke, I forgive you and . . . . . DON'T EVER mess with me on that subject again, please! I tend to get personal on that subject, sorry. *exit stage right* |

*shrugs* I, too, don't have the nessecary funds yet, seeing as my family handles all the money, but we have been donating as much as we can at the church fundraiser. I'm sure they'll have a relief effort up at my school when we get back.
Bah...this whole incident with the killer waves just backs up my theory that the world is frikkin' ending. I mean, George is back in office, Yoko Ono (sp?)scored a hit single on the dance charts a while back, and the Red Sox won the world series.
...That's it, I'm locking myself in my house with a few dozen cans of Raid locust spray...

1. Yellowstone is the location of a supervolcano. If a tremor was to hit it with a very large force, such as the quakes that hit these countries, the volcano would erupt.
There would be more damage and more dead than 70,000. You'd be hitting the billions.
2. It's nice you're a diehard Christain, but you are in no position to be telling anyone to stop joking about Jesus. You're liable to get me to start screwing around about how cheap God is about "pennies from heaven".
I have no money for these foundations, I'm serious.

Flea I agree with you... I have no money for charities but for other reasons.. I just believe charity starts at home. I'd like to help the 120,000 confirmed dead in other ways than having to hand over moneys and not knowing where it's going.. the USA and the UK have handed over millions a piece.. I would like to think 5 would make a difference but it really wouldn't. I'm sure they won't mind if I bought a round for my mates at the Krazyhouse (rock club) instead of buying some random rock-worshipping lion-cloth wearing ..person a makeshift coffin.
Lol seems a little harsh but It's pretty much the way I feel...
I have other things I need to spend my money on rather than charity. Not that I have much money, of course
...Selfish? ...maybe in some ways. I'm looking out for #1! |

Yep, diehard Christain and damn proud of it. And I can't stop people from joking about God, but I sure can try . . . . . and fail and still be proud that I tried.

The end of the world?
They said that the death toll has gotten to 114,000? Is that number accurate? But what's worse is the disease and deaths that will come from that. Compared to the tsunami itself, the aftermath will be a ton worse.

Ok.. I am not (edit: Deliberately ~) attracting attention on the net.. This is a thread about donating to the Earthquake jibberish.. I am merely posting my opinion in the thread. My post was on topic. Do not critisice me for doing so when I have done nothing wrong. you don't like the way I think, you leave my way of thinking alone.
-If you dont want to help it is fine. Do not make it look like these organizations are thieves.
I never once said these organisations were thieves I DID say, however, that my 5 won't go far enough or go into something I'd feel my money would be better off used. I say these organisations like to arrange my money into different sectors of the job. I however would like to either see where it goes or decide where it goes.. Is it so much to ask?
I can't stop people from joking about God, but I sure can try . . . . . and fail and still be proud that I tried.
I'm a Christain, but I'm gonna be honest on my views and no one God is going to stop me because I like the idea of being independant and free. For him to have a complete and total influence on me is like saying I'm his slave, which makes me extremely uncomfortable.
Joking about God is a way to deal with an issue in faith. If I can say this, and he's not stopping me, it's obvious he knows I'm joking and I know he's laughed at me and with me on more than a few occasions.
Kindly put, people are independant, don't order them about what to do and what not to do unless you're the General of the Accumulative Military.
Mandark never was one to use logic, so I'll use my views.
If I were to contribute the 5 dollars in my wallet, my learner's permit, and my gift card, it wouldn't do any good because it may never get there. I mean, use logic, five dollars isn't a whole lot and if it'll be used for the wood for someone's casket, I don't want it to go anywhere.
A person who is dead could care less about what they're buried in.
STOP REFERING TO THE U.S AS IF WE ARE ALL THE PROBLEM. We may have elected the officials, but that's ALL we can DO. If they have personal vendettas against so and so, we're not going to know until after they're in office so blame the people if you want, Manny, but it's not us.
If Mandark is the one concerned about the "end of the world", this is not the end of the world. You want the end of the world, I'll describe it to you:
Tremors and pressure trigger the eruption of a supervolcano under Yellowstone National Park. The force of the explosion creates a crater the size of South Carolina and the explosion the force of 100,000 atomic bombs at once. The shockwaves hit the coasts in all directions, triggering MASSIVE tsunamis(dwarfing these current ones by about 2 miles) and sending ash and noxious fumes into the atmosphere.
The ash and fumes spread, covering half of the earth. Half of the world's population is killed.
Bam, well over your 117,893.
Then, here's the great part.
The explosion triggers the next Ice Age.
Supervolcanoes are not your Mt. St. Helens(ironic, it's named after a saint) or Mt. Vesuvius. They don't consist of a mountain. They are areas of flat land and erupt once every 100,000 years.
The gas in the Yellowstone supervolcano has massed to the point where the ground is rising and falling on a regular basis, so CALM DOWN about puddles of water.
Yes, I feel concern for these people, but I've always seen it as a "can and will be worse" situation. Call me heartless if you must, but Jesus, if you haven't acted like it's a fuckin' apocalypse.
Half of those people would have been dead due to hunger, health, and torture, and war in a few years anyways, drowning is a fairly pleasent death, once you let the water overcome you.
I'm personally thankful they aren't casualties of one of our nukes. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

I doubt it. It's the net and whatever I send won't go far.
It's a matter of attention, sure, but we're sending our stuffs over there for them. That's about all we can do.
We already did, in a sense, the U.S, because of our taxes. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Sure, I've called the hotline to donate the money. Not much, ten bucks. But yeah, every little bit helps. If everyone gives around ten bucks, think of how much money we can collect.
So don't think that just donating a 5 bucks won't help much. It will because all the little amount adds up to a big amount. :)
In fact, I'm proud to say that some of the more famous celebrities out there, such as Linkin Park, Leonardo Dicaprio and Sandra Bullock have stepped up and donated a sum to these organizations. I mean, if they're rich and loaded and they don't even bother to do such things, then the shame is really on them, don't you think?
