So? I've heard their songs and I've heard about being alone in darkness....wasting time.....you know, crap like that.
And a name doesn't mean much. If you took Velvet Revolver's name seriously, you might think they love cock, when they really just like using it.

What's the big deal about Velvet Revolver anyways? It's basically GnR without Axl... even though Axl is crazy he's still a big part of GnR.

Uh, they don't whine about crap in their lives.... Better guitar than any other major act in the industry.... Slash... Duff... Sorum... Scott Weiland is a better vocalist than Axl... that Dave Kushner kid from Wasted Youth....
Besides, the nu-Guns N' Roses is like industrial metal. And VR didn't have someone named Buckethead try to take Slash's place.
In a sense, VR is a reincarnation of a good deal of what Guns N' Roses was, with 3 members(one being a later addition), one vocalist that was recently charged with possession(IT'S ROCK, BABY!!!), and one dude no one's heard of.
Excellent stage show. It's one of the best bands around today.
Scott Weiland is a better vocalist than Axl
Grr! I'd like to debate that, but ok. He can put the bullhorn down anytime, though. It's no longer that interesting, Scott.

The big deal is in a day of nu-metal and power chords, the band is made up of 3 legends (sorry, Matt, but I wouldn't really call you a legend...) and two other damn good musicians. Slash, Duff, and Scott are all huge. It's like putting two Beatles with Mick Jagger, only in hard rock. New Gn'R/Rose N' Roses/Axl N' Friends is more or less industrial. At least, his last track listing was. Rolling eyes With the exception of a couple tracks like Madagascar.

It's not "bad", it's just that VR goes back to how Gn'R sounded in the beginning, and that's what most fans want, even if Axl isn't fronting. Besides the fact VR actually released something instead of delaying it every 6 months.

Actually, the "big deal" has little to do with their music and everything to do with name recognition and combined fanbases. Both Gn'R an STP fans checked them out, and they got a ton of hype. They'd have had a great debut even if the record was shit. It's just the fact it kicks ass that keeps them popular.

DEBATE!!
I say it mainly because Scott has a wider vocal range(seemingly). Axl MIGHT have been able to, but his best work(vocals) I ever heard was when he wasn't screaming.
"Patience", "Civil War", when he sang "Sail Away Sweet Sister"....
But awesome stage prescence. Then again, remember Weiland's imitation of him? I'd say VR's stage shows are entertaining.
Axl is the better frontman, though.

I haven't heard a whole lot of STP 'cause I was never a fan, but I've heard some. Axl, in my opinion, has/had the greater range in style. He rarely went between low-mid-high range in one song, but the difference between Patience, Used To Love Her, Welcome To The Jungle, and Bad Obsession is huge. He could do the soft n' low (Don't Cry), or more mid range (One In a Million), or the high pitched everyone knows. Plus I think his phrasing and style is more natural than Scott.

Neither is Jani Lane when it comes to strength or range, but I still think Axl is overall a better singer. No question of frontman (Axl's crab dance may have been gay, but compared to Scott's prancing...).

Completely random, but there was a bootleg video of VR doing...I think it was It's So Easy (something off Appetite), and they used the same background vocals Gn'R did. On the chorus, you couldn't even hear Scott, just Axl's background. . . . . Rolling eyes

STP has some good stuff. I'd recommend "Core". Sometimes you can't tell it's Scott, he can make his voice different for each recording.
"Dead and Bloated" is a favorite of mine.
Scott did quite a bit of alternating between tracks, for VR and STP.
Plus, the old STP stage image was...interesting.

This isn't about favorites. Misfits, fine, but:
Danzig can't hold a candle to Plant.
Only is an amateur compared to Page and Jones
Drummer(forgot his name) can't do a thing compared to Boneham.

Scott's best look was last year before he buzzed it all off and had the little monkey butt thing going on top of his head. And I know he can change styles, obviously, but I don't think he does it as naturally as Axl did. Just an opinion, since there's no guidelines for "best".

Is there anything they won't put the Misfits on? Seriously, what's next? Condoms? Sodas? Birth control? Enough with the marketing.

EDIT: How dare you steal Taime's name. Grr! Rolling eyes

So true....
Hey, I'm horny and I want to see your panties. Grr!
Misfits are marketed like meat. You look at a shirt and it's the freaking skull...
You drew a pic where the guy was wearing one. Which one was that, Adler? Some other dude.?

Actually it was a very stoned and bleached Taime. Laughing I think originally he was holding a joint. And my package isn't even here yet, but you're not getting a photo anyway. Only in person, my friend, only in person. And even then, only if you buy me booze...

I'm so tired of the popular logos. I can't even wear, for example, generic Gn'R shirts with like the round logo (with the guns and roses on it) or the banner (like on Axl's tat) without someone going "cool, did you get that at Hot Topic?!" No, now go away. Grr! According to friends who love that store, they even have RATT and Poison shirts. Come on, 99.99% of those people if they knew what it was, would be saying "dude, those guys are fags". Merch is cool and all, but not when the logo is slapped on anything and everything and sold in a store owned by GAP.

But that's a rant for another day... What happened to the days of kids drawing DIO on their binders in marker? Now they can go buy a $25 binder with some stupid logo on it, and no member of the band even knows the product exists except for the fact they get a tiny check for it.

It can and will be DONE!
I do the thing with my binders. Not often, as my last ones were mutilated beyond repair....
Hot Topic sucks. Whiny angsty teens apply here.

I saw Grateful Dead hemp bracelets the other day. Some girl just thought it was a cool skull. Ugh.

My friend got a cool Grateful Dead necklace for her birthday last year, except it was old and from one of those little "neat shit from 20 years ago" stores.

I chose AC/DC, they are really good in my opinion!

Black Sabbath probably isn't the best band ever, but I really like Black Sabbath.
