This should have gone under the HELP subforum. Do not post here (General Art Foum) asking for help in the future - it goes under HELP.

Anywho. Direct copying from somebody else's work IS stealing, but only in the basest sense. Make sure you 1) say that its copied, 2) add a link to where you copied it from, and if possible 3) ask the original artist's permission.

Chris, don't confuse the word "charicature" with "character", they are two TOTALLY different things.

Anyway, making pictures based or inspired off of official drawings is basically allowed around here as long as it isn't stealing or direct copying/tracing of the image.

They are caricatures, Strata. If you look at the site, it's caricatures of rock stars by a selection of "staff" artists. Not really "official" art, as much as it is a very selective gallery type deal.

Technically it is allowed with credit, but the Rock Toons artists are not big on people taking their work. Best to email the artist and ask because if they complain, it'll be taken down anyway.

My bad then. It just seems like newbies have been spelling 'characters' very poorly of late, and . . . well, you get the idea Wink
