this article ownz

EA stands for everything I hate in gaming (too much marketing and commercialism, generic games, cheap rip offs, useless sequels, and yet people buy their crap because of all the commercials and advertisement, and sponsoring of game programs) and the french goverment is going to protect their game industry from EA. France is so kewl. Infogrames, Ubisoft, they own so much more than the mass production game factories that are EA.

This article I got from a PS2 magazine shows how much power EA has now. It's really stupid.

The stream of half-assed sequels will keep flowing.

thats what everyone says about any large company, i've heard people say that about AOL, Wal-Mart, Microsoft, and so on. They won't rule the world, or anything like that. There just a video game company that makes games.

but they make sucky games with much publicity, making less informed people buy them, and others might interpret this as if they were actually making good games. Need for speed underground, the sims, goldeneye, all are much too hyped games that really are overrated and not as good as they are believed to be. The whole attitude of EA just bothers me. They buy licences and people buy their s**t. Ah well, it's in my nature to support the underdog, I suppose.

For once I agree with Lexar. EA is fast becoming my least favorite dev/pub. out there. All they seem to do these days is take formely beloved franchises and run them to the run (medal of honor, anyone?) and take over smaller developers that even smell like success and incorporate them into their gaping maw of suckatude. The only way they'll stop is if we boycott them or something, not a hard thing for me as they hadn't produced anything the least bit interesting to me in quite some time.

I just can't believe the NFL actually agreed to what EA was doing. I'm starting to hate the NFL now.
