Perhaps most of the userbase of FAC is a bit young, but it's still an interesting question.
What are your favorite clubs, and why do you like them? What makes them good? Is it the music they play? The layout? Price? People?
EDIT: To make this an easier topic, I'll also include what you think makes a good club, not limited to ones you go to. Just in general.
It's no secret I quite enjoy gay clubs. In fact, almost all the ones I go to are. They just have a more fun atmosphere. I mean, who doesn't love a good drag show? Anyway, a few of my favorites:
Klub Z - the infamous all ages gay club that was described in the local school paper as being "youth friendly" by someone who had obviously never been there. If the youth enjoy naked cowboys and decorations of gay porn, then yes. The only reason it's all ages is it's not a bar, and there's no designated "adult entertainment", but that hasn't stopped all the walls from being covered in nekkid men when you pay your cover, and random club-goers stripping down...entertaining others. Good fun! Such a cool atmosphere. They mostly play techno and 80s pop and of course the gay club staples (Aretha, Madonna, etc.).
Darcelle's - Unfortunately I really can't go there. I've been once. Illegally. *cough* shhhh But it's an amazing place. Dancing in one half and killer drag shows in the other. And male strippers at midnight! Again, mostly pop/rock and techno. Typical dance club.
Embers - I've only been here because my friend's brother used to work there, and he got us in a few times. Once you're in, no one bothers to ask or notice how old you are. And besides, what's a few years if no one's drinking? Anyway, this place is beyond cool. My friend's brother (Rob) was a favorite of the regulars, since he was absolutely adorable. Another notable person is Buttercup, a rather large man who performs a fire-breathing act. Good music, happy people, cheap/free food...niiiiice.
So, although I'm well aware this topic probably won't get many responses beyond "I don't go to clubs", it's worth a shot. And for those who don't like going because of the meat market vibe, go support your local gay clubs. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Aww Fallen, I'll respond for you.
"I don't go to clubs" simply because I could never even sneak in. I look too young, especially with my new haircut. I can't wait until I'm old enough, though. Once I can actually dance I'll be a beast on that dance floor. I'm not particularly fond of those in my school, so some clubs will be a nice refreshment of new people to meet. I really can't wait to go to an awesome club, meet some people, and just have fun really! Actually, my cousin might be able to get me into a club over in PA.....hmmm.......... |

We have a few clubs I wouldn't mind playing at. The Plex and the Music Farm seem to be cool. The Warehouse is a place where our local bands usually play for their CD Debut parties. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

I very rarely go to clubs, but if I do go, the cheesier the better They're for university students and underage girls, as far as I can tell... common proles like me can only cope with pubs. |

Then you're not going to the right ones.
There's a lot of lame "dance clubs" that will bore your ass off, or drive you crazy with what seems like the same song played continuously. But ones with more...character, I guess you could say, are a blast.
All the ones I mentioned up above aren't strictly dance clubs. Sure, they've got a dance floor, and they're usually playing music, but you can go in and have super cheap lunch during the day or hang out. Mondays are gay-related television/movie evenings at Embers. Free popcorn and other food. Fun shows. Karaoke. And people that are, for the most part, there to have a good time, as opposed to dance to annoying techno while on E and score with some drunk chick.
Or maybe that's just around here, but I'd imagine there's similar things everywhere. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Probably, but I'm not cool enough to go :D
Like I said, pubs are about all I can cope with, and Chicago Rock if I need to dance. |

The Warehouse is a club of sorts run by the frats at our college. The place is always jumping, more so now since its really cold outside. _________________

And what makes it good? Since we've never been there. (at least, I assume no one else here has...) _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Ok!!!!
Stairways. A real f**king dive, that place but a few friends work there so discount beer and poles for doin' mad crazy stunts on... It's got a stage where kids can play if they want but they gotta be good or they get thrown s**t at
2 floors. 1st floor up the flight of stairs is the chillout room. Bar and many seats. Extra room attached to that with game room. Free pool and free xbox. Pretty fun but very illuminated so it hurts your eyes when you can see about 4 instead of one.. Cool people go there but because Birkenhead is the bumhole of England, I'd suggest to not go there as there are very many plastic scousers after a fight or two afterwards from nearby Scally clubs. Plays rock and Metal and pretty much whatever the lousy DJs feel like playing...
...Hex. The new club in town. Just off the bypass in Birkenhead. You know, by the big roundabout.. by Central station? Well yeah it's the new club that bought out 'Kiss' the old trance club. It has cages and junk apparently where anyone can dance in. I haven't been there yet but I'll be damned if someone keeps me out of those cages. Plays rock, metal, heavy fucken crazy metal pretty much anything of these sexy genres.
KRAZYHOUSE! OMgz0rz It's THE place to be on a Saturday night. 3 floors of KRAZY!! haha.. really it's great. Bar closes at about 2 or so but I think the law is changing soon  Bottom floor plays all; GnR, Metallica, black Sabbath and all those sortsa bands.. 2nd floor is all mainstream; Slipknot, and such.. Can't think right now but it's all metal and such. Top floor plays emo, new-punk. Good Charlotte and such, you know. It's ok to go to that floor for 2 things. Chillout and the birds. I swear the girls there are Oh so sweet.. ;)
Anyyyway.. I think I might be going out tonight actually.. We'll have to see |

You can come to Klub Z with me and dance with the naked cowboy. I have no idea what his name is, but he has a whole lot of free time to almost always be there. And enjoys being naked. Not that I'm complaining... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
