My sister has been obsessed with the whole stage diving video ever since she saw someone do it in a music video. I think it's rad but I would never do it, for obvious reasons and because I have much interest in kicking in someone's face.
Anyway, I was just wondering what people thought of it. |

Meh, can't say I go to many shows where it's really an option. Not enough space/people for it to work, but even in larger venue shows, I don't like it. Keep your ass on the ground, your foot out of my face, and point your frontside towards the stage. <_< Every now and then it can be cool, like if one or two people does it, but not if everyone is trying. It's like the second level down on my list of live show annoyances. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I've never had the chance to try it but if there were enough people, enough space and I was in the heat of the moment...yeah I think I would jump at the chance. Just to say I tried it. But if a bunch of asses tried it over and over I'd just tell the people around me to not bother with them so...surprise. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Yeah, just tell them not to catch them. See what happens.
I wonder if anyone has ever done that.? |

I guess it could be cool, as long as it's a one off thing. If a group of people kept doing though it'd become really irritating.
And just once, I'd like to see the crowd clear as soon as some idiot jumped. _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

I've seen that. In fact, I've seen at least one where the audience cleared when a band member jumped. Just a semi-local group, but the bass player jumped into the audience, and everyone moved away. I wouldn't want to get hit in the face with his guitar, either. He landed more or less on his feet then fell to his knees before climbing back on stage in humiliation.

I've only seen one stage dive live and that was at a celtic festival--as odd as that sounds. Pretty guy from Gaelic Storm jumped into the crowd; it was nice. _________________ "I've got a sticky Darodo!"

Seriously thought about it. Unfortunately, we were too far away and he was back on stage before we had a chance to get to him. _________________ "I've got a sticky Darodo!"

I was going to say slip a suggestive note in his pocket...but then I thought "if he's wearing a kilt, does he have a pocket?"...or if he is wearing a kilt, perhaps in his underwear, but then is he wearing any?
And if you find out, no need for the note anymore. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

If you're wearing a kilt, normally you wear a sporran as well. (Bit like a purse you put round your waist). And underwear isn't worn under the kilt, (I never do) not unless you're a pussy.

Poor guy must have had one hell of a beamer. Still would've laughed at him though. _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

Poor guy. Although I would've laughed my ass off if I were there. Did they suck that badly? I mean you have to really, really suck for that to happen. Which is why I hope Axl doesn't try to stage dive durring his tour. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Oy, all that kilt talk reminded me of one particularly unpleasant story I was told once... Summary: When you're a lead singer wearing a kilt for the hell of it and know you have an energetic performance that could cause said kilt to raise way up... wear clean underwear!
EDIT: And it's not Axl, by the way, just to be clear.

Meh, they were alright. Quite a lot of people there. He just thought he was cooler than he was. It wasn't that kind of atmosphere at all, so people just said "screw you" when he caim flying at them with a large heavy object. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. It wasn't Axl? Wow, I really thought it was him for a second. Who was it then? _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Don't remember. Pretty sure it was a lesser known group, if not local (somewhere else, chicago or something like that). _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
