Fallen, I wasn't even getting an attitude with the guy :/ The one time I don't give an attitude, you think that I am.. how nice.

Another fanart pet peeve: People who resubmit the same picture like ten times after you ask them to resize it, and everytime it's the same size.

What's also really anoying is when people have the same pic posted 3-5 times, but at different stages. Who's going to look at a sketched version, shaded version, colored version, and detailed version of the same picture? Just post your final image and be done with it!

I rejected the comic. Sorry. But i was too big. I forget the exact size. I realize you post a lot of stuff and this almost led to me letting it slide, but if I did that it wouldn't be fair to all the others that get rejected for being too large. Your comics will be accepted if they are resized so they are not over 600 pixels wide.

And as for people posting rude comments in their descriptions after being rejected... yes that pisses me off too. I'll usually make a comment on their pic but they just delete it. Damn their attitude Smile

Sorry, just sounded that way to me. Uneasy

EDIT: New pet peeve: People who feel they must compare everything you do. This applies both online and in real life, because I have some former friends who used to do this too (former for a different reason). Example, I posted that old, quick self portrait on a self port thread in another forum...not even something like EK, a really low-end low-quality forum!...and get "hmmmm your Kurt Cobain's better". No kidding. <_< they had to have clicked the link in my sig 'cause I never even posted anything else there, but what the hell kind of compliment (if it was even intended that way) is that?! Does it even need to be pointed out that it's better? Does that person think I meant "hey, check this out, it's my best work EVER dude!". URGH.

Same goes for the comments of "nice, but not your best." Of course it's not! I don't have 20 hours, 30 hours, 40 hours, etc. to constantly top "my best". I just don't. No one does! I don't hold anyone else to that standard. My friends on DA, all have done some incredible work, but I still like their other stuff they post in between without saying "cool, but your AC/DC group shot was better". Because it's rude. It absolutely drives me nuts to have stuff compared instead of judged on its own. The same example I gave in the Singy situation was two songs. Welcome to the Jungle and Back Off Bitch. Is WTTJ a technically better song? Hell yes. But does that mean BoB is a bad one because it isn't as good? Of course not. You judge a song independently.

It just really pisses me off and makes me not even want to bother anymore because it won't be as good as that, so I might as well not even do it. Sad

So far none of my pics have been rejected yet and if they were then I would just work on it to improve it. As for my pet peeve, it's when someone will leave a comment for you telling you how ugly your artwork is and then when he or she posts a pic tells everyone to be nice when they leave a comment. My opinion is if someone is going to dish it out then they need to take it too.

Exactly,

Huge pet peeve of mine, if you can't take it, then don't go pushing it out there.

I hate people like that !

I really wasnt going to even look in here but I see the discution on my pic went on.
I didnt mean to sound sarcastic about my peeve, I was never sent a reject note at my mail (not even in bulk Fallen) so there may be a glich. Ive been an industrial (factory) manager for so long I hate hearing people bitch, so I really wasnt bitching. I was jusy wandering what was up. I do know about web space (I have my own site) and I do take down the comic after a few days when I figure everyone here thats gonna read it, read it. I dont want to waste my space here with a comic (you can go to my site if you missed a day) and Denis' space either. so sorry if I caused a big thing....didnt mean too. I was just curious to know what was up.

kate-sorry if I pissed you off
Fallen-thank you for the clarification
Denis-I appreciate you saying to accept it as is, but I dont want to waste your space
and JHF-I know I post some pics up as scetches, just because some people were curious on how I get to the finnish, but I pull 'em down too. I wont anymore.

thanx Bruce....and this is sincere

Space is really no issue at all. Bandwidth was the problem before, but getting rid of any offsite links, I believe, has helped that. There's plenty of people with over a hundred giant doodles, no need to take down your comic if it's a space issue. Smile

thats cool.and if the kids want to put up doodles thats great. I just take it down cause I want to keep my area here basiclly for my comic art. I told everyone on a pic earlier if they miss a comic go read it on my site. its always up.

I appreciate it though.

thanx Bruce Wink

Space is not an issue. Bandwidth is little problem (I think the site is at about half its capacity.)

The only real problem with the site now is the server is rather underpowered and can't afford a faster one. What it really needs is more RAM...Maybe the merchandise will allow that to happen.

I know this is way off target here, but there was a discusion about art on the site for the merchandize on the front page before the "new" fanart went up. where the heck did it go to?

and is the merchandize already settled on? I know Im broke right now or I would definetly be contributing here (2 exs to support) but I would have definitly put in some artwork of mine if it helped.

Im just wondering where that string ended up or did it just end.

thanx Bruce

Bruce, I didn't mean to seem pissed at you. I get like that sometimes, sorry. I honestly wasn't angry with you, so don't worry about it. Fallen, it's okay if you thought I had an attitude, it did sort of look like it. It's hard to tell over the internet :P

thanks Fallen but I think Im too late. I wrote a reply anywho.

Kate, its cool, I never have hard fellings. like I wrote earlier, Ive been a manager of companies that are no1 in the world for their products and have broken all their records for production and quality. if I havent pissed of anyone in 19 years Id be lying. I just always let cool heads prevail. I step back and see if I wrote or said something wrong and appologize. I may have come accross wrong in my letter. I just am very direct and it comes accross nasty sometimes. so Im sorry if I did the same to you.

thanx Bruce

Haven't checked that forum yet, but the merch thread doesn't have a definite deadline. Just the mascot one.

One thing I just had to mention on this fanart pet peeves thread is that I can't stand people who take art classes in school just because they think it's an easy A, but people who enjoy art are kicked out due to classroom overcrowding. It really irks me. Grr!

Posts with every single smilie at the bottom are annoying. There was also this one person (can't remember who, but Pow nicknamed him "Bob") who put two ninja faces in every post, before the typing and after the typing. That really irritated me for some reason.

 Surprised Wink Razz Very Happy Laughing Cool Rolling eyes <_< Smile Grr! Sad Uneasy WTF?

I fail to see the fun in clicking all those things.......
