With all of the great Gods of Metal getting older some are starting to forget their rock roots and sell out. Sad From Ozzy's new show to the more recent Gene Simmons guest judging on American Idol it becomes hard for a true blue metal fan to watch. So which one has betrayed us the most? And have they made up for their shameful mistakes (like Vince Neil) or are they doomed to never rock the same again... Sad

The Osbournes. Oh man, it's just sad. Retarded-ass kids in my class claim to "worship" Ozzy when they've never even heard a Black Sabbath tune.

Voted for the Osbournes as well, even though it's Sharon's fault and not Ozzy's. Just as most all of the ridiculously bad image of Ozzy/Ozzfest these days is because of her. Great businesswoman, lousy for rock n' roll.

Most of the things on the list, while stupid, I find horribly amusing. Alice Cooper's Staples commercial isn't nearly as bad as the Steven Tyler digital camera one, though. How long has that thing been on? At least 6 months, if not a lot more. And Bon Jovi did the battery ad, but what do you expect from them? Rolling eyes

And Vince doing the chicken dance is great. Laughing

Oh man! I completely forgot about that commercial. Surprised I actually think the Steve Tyler one is pretty funny only because I can picture being one of those girls knocking over stuff trying to take a picture (I'm such an ass sometimes... . . . . ) I don't even remember the Bon Jovi one. I guess the only reason I could recall the Alice Cooper commerical was because my mom finds it hysterical but she hates Alice Cooper. . . . . And that battery ad probably gave them the most publicity since Vince Neil went on The Surreal Life (dammit, I missed that season too. Sad )
And Vince doing the chicken dance is great.
I actually laughed my ass off when I saw him doing that. Laughing It was like one of those "what the f*ck" moments that are just so damn...I dunno. It was funny as hell though. I put it on the list 'cuz it made number one on the VH1 version of this poll.

I voted for Axl "Cornrows" because that to me was a very sad day in rock. Axl just destroyed his image in one night (well, actually it was over a few years but that night at the VMAs made it official.)

I should've put a fake one on here just to see who'd believe me. Like "Slash cutting his hair" or something outrageous like that.

The Osbourne show peeves me off. Too many preps now rave about Ozzy and yet they always ask what Black Sabbath was or they can't even name one hit from Ozzy. Grr! Dumbasses...

*shudders as I read every choice*

That's a pretty hard call. Personnaly, I hate the Osbournes but that's more demeaning, and if we ignore it... maybe it will go away.

I'm gonna go with Axl's cornrows also. *sobs* WHY!?!?!?!?!?! ahem... I am calm... I swear. *goes to comfort self with sugar and guns n' roses*

The idea of Nu-Metal ever being conceived is fairly disgusting.

As is anything affiliated with Dannii Filth.

Least metal moment: Tommy Lee producing the solo album of a former Backstreet Boy. And having dinner with him at Koi.

Or maybe that's just the gayest metal moment, but it still counts.

Rock takes itself too seriously. Admitted, some of that stuff is just shameful, but things like Alice Cooper and the Staples commercial are in good humor. He was poking fun at himself, genius. I loose respect for anyone who can't step back and laugh once in a while. <_<

Yeah, I know he was making fun of himself and I actually thought the commercial was hilarious. Laughing I just put it on there 'cuz it was on the VH1 version of this thread. I just put on the ones I could remember and the Alice Cooper commerical was one of the first ones that came to mind. And as you can see, no one on the forum has voted for that choice so at least we here at FAC don't take rock that seriously.

Actually, Axl Rose should seriously be in a commercial. Any commercial. It doesn't matter. Anything for him to get off his ass and do something. Laughing
Haaaahaha...didn't know he did that. Funnay. Hey does anyone like that new Motley Crue song? personally, I can't stand it.
Actually, I love it. Its just great to see the Crue out there again and bringing some good music back on the scene. Cool And its probably best to start your own topic about Motely Crue. Just so we don't get so far off topic, y'know?
Did you get some of those ideas from VH1 least metal moments?
Yeah I actually did. I'm not that original. Uneasy But I just wanted to see if FAC would differ from the official countdown. And I did add some of my own like Good Charlotte. And look who's ahead! Good Charlotte is in the lead for the most shameful thing in rock history. Laughing

I vote that as being the p*ssiest moment rather than gayest. Which one was it? If it was that blonde guy then it was the gayest. Anyone else would just make it the p*ssiest.
Rock takes itself too seriously.
Watch This is Spinal Tap and you'll see that rock doesn't take itself so seriously that it can't poke fun at itself once in a while. Cool

"...this goes up to 11."
"But if we write it here it can go up to 12."
"But it only goes up to eleven."

Meh, it grows on you. Sounds different than any other Crue song, but every album of theirs sounds unique. I wasn't big on the work with Corabi, and I'm not a big fan of Generation Swine. Too Fast For Love to Dr. Feelgood are my favorites, but the new one is tolerable.

Good rock doesn't. That's the problem with people like U2. And it's what makes party rock so cool.

My dad says that if U2 isn't making a new album then they're starting a civil war in another country. Laughing He likes them but he thinks they're too serious now. "They were better in the 80s" he always says to me. ^_^

I actually think its when a band begins to take itself seriously that it begins to suck. Like Guns 'n Roses. In the beginning you were swamped with rock anthems and just awesome headbanging songs but as the years went by Axl went a little crazy and took the band into all these different directions that eventually led to its downfall.

We need a This Is Spinal Tap for this generation. Like something that pokes a stab at GC, Linkin Park, and all those other whiny pop rock bands. Do something where one of the members is surrounded by money, cars and all the groupies a man could ask for and all he does is sigh and says "I hate myself. Life sucks." And then he gets a Grammy for "Best Rock Group." <_< Very sad but very true.
