How Many Pics?

Now i respect the aproval people who approve our work but i wish we could put more pictures on a day. some people dont even put pictures on FAC anymore. If i am the only one who thinks this then tell me but i do respect the aproval people please dont forget that

It's fine that you think that but there are a lot of people here. If we allowed everyone to put unlimited amounts of pictures a day, I'm sure the bandwidth would surely be exceeded very quickly. This is pretty much a way to keep the order around here. (I figure that if there was no rule, you'd be seeing "Bandwidth Exceeded" on this site [b]a lot[/b] more...)

Believe it or not, the "three a day" rule is in place for YOUR benefit. It's to encourage each artist to do their own quality control.

We don't want to see artists flooding the site with dozens of half-assed (pardon my phrasing) linedpaper rapid vis's, only submit what [b]you[/b] can feel comfortable showing to the public across the Internet.

Reasons for the 3 pic a day limit:

~ The site population has grown very quickly. If the site gets 400 pictures a day, increasing the limit would skyrocket that number to an impossible amount.

~ It helps increase the number of views per image. One in 400 gives a picture a much better chance of being seen than if it were one in 800. No one likes seeing a picture they worked really hard on buried under 75 doodles within a half hour.

~ Quality control. We don't want every little sketch someone ever does. Limiting it to three a day makes each person decide what they feel is worth uploading. It's nearly impossible for a user to finish more than three high quality pieces that are equally deserving of uploading.

~ The approvals would be much slower than they are now.

That's not the same thing as already having more than three such pieces . . . there was once an FAC member who uploaded 17 pictures in 30 minutes.

There's really only two scenarios where one should ever have a gripe about the 3-per-day rule:

1 - If their drawings are crappy sketches not worth showing off in the first place.

2 - OR, if they have just signed up on FAC, and have half a gallery of images sitting on their computer's HD just waiting for upload.

When I signed up on FAC, I was in fact one of the latter . . . seriously over 50 drawings on paper and scanned into my PC that I wanted to upload and show off, but I just waited it out, mixing both old & recent drawings into the 3-per-day rule.

And now? Most of my old sketches worth displaying are uploaded, and I only do a new drawing averaging once every 3-4 days.

there were several times I logged on and there were about 20 images submitted by one person all next to each other

o.- gah...some people (read the rules...they're there for a reason...duh..)

And just as you did, a person can decide which three they wish to upload per day. If someone uploaded 50 images in a row, regardless of skill, it would only increase the other problems presented other than quality.

Heh, I usually only finish one picture per month (because it takes me so long to finish something and I'm really busy with homework), so I can't exceed the 3-a-day rule. But even if I did have more pics to upload, I'm perfectly fine with waiting some extra days to get them all up...it doesn't matter to me.

Im fine the way it is, because i only present my best work, and it takes so long to finish one picture, like 1 week maybe, depends.
