hey, just a quick question, how many people have played every Zelda game ever made. Or, in other sense, if not every one, how many have you played?

Both are equal, in my eyes.

They're completely different games with different gameplay with different purposes with different styles.. How can you put them against each other. If you mean which game character is the coolest, I'd say Link, obviously.. but you just can't put 2 different games against each other. They're both in a league of thier own.

They're different genres and so it's hard to judge...but:

Mario - Classic platformer.
Zelda - RPG-Lite, a disgusting oxymoron.

:. I'd have to conclude that Mario is the winner, by a long way.

I still like Zelda. A dishusting oxymoron is a bit harsh. It still has one of the highest ratings around, even though it's been out for what, 5 years?

Zelda has been going for 18 years...was created in 1987...

I hate RPG Lites...Zelda is maybe alright when labelled as an Action game but it's not an RPG.

Mario is still better.

Why do you hate RPGs so much. As I recall, the FF series are RPG games too.

huh? What's the difference. From what I figure, the only thing is RPGs concentrate more on storyline and character development while RPG lite is more of a bash and hack away gameplay.

You've just answered your own question.

Role Playing - taking on the role of a character, getting to know them, living their lives.

How can you do that with a couple of hours of hack 'n' slash? You can't, therefore it's not a RPG, therefore I don't like them being called such.

You can, although Zelda has a large amount of fighting, it still has a very good storyline as the character develops along the way. You can't have that and not be an RPG

Link? Develop? Ha! Hardly!

He may do a lot of things, but can you begin to get to terms with the character, theorise as to why he might be making such decisions etc? No...it's just a "he does it because he does it" type game...

Actually, you can. The fact that he has to save the world take large toll in his decisions. Also, the encounters and events along the way help you figure out what will happen next, or what decision you'll have to make. If you play the game, you'll see that it does indeed develop into both main and subcharacters.
