The Newbie Thread

Hey there...well, judging from the lack of tiny little squares I have beneath my name, I suppose I'm a newbie. I guess that's my fault...should've come here a little more than never. Anyway...

I've posted a couple of comments and what not in other threads and I suppose I didn't quite introduce myself properly here, as I was meant to. Some may know me from the chat room a while ago and some may have no idea who I am. That's fine. If I spend enough time here I'm sure I can get back into the game Smile

Hope to make plenty of comments and get to know you guys.

I have no intention of getting on anyone's nerves and I come in goodwill. So if I make any mistakes (like that one time I double posted) then I'd like to apologize ahead of time. It may take a while before I fully understand the ropes. Feel free to correct me Very Happy

Hope all goes well with this. Jeez...I feel like I'm outside the loop all over again... ^_^

Now, how about we all start making this place sound more...likeable...other than talking about how scary Silver is. Because although sometimes she loses her temper and goes a bit far, she has never scared a moderator and she's told when to calm down when she gets a bit to excited. Just like with everyone else.

Silver isn't, by far, the only one who can be big and bad. We got a bunch of them. Just like we got a bunch of know-it-alls, jerks, loners, perverts, fan girls, rockers, college kids and many more. You name em' we got em.

So in all, welcome, look around, get use to it and make your own judgments instead of letting us give you them.

I don't understand why anyone would have any issues with Miss Silver...I think she's nice Smile

She's been kinda nice to me, anyway (might've been because of following her format in the FanFiction thread? What a difference something as simple as listening and paying attention can do!) :P

Ruppy, i thought you were go to the OS forum, where your loving friends are. Oh wait, they aren't your friends. Don't they make fun of you? Or was the just gray? Hmm, oh well. Either way i don't care.

FAC get's new members everyday. There isn't any shortage of them and i'm sure to find plenty i like. And more or less, you annoy me but i ignore you. But now your just getting on my last nerve. If you don't get the rules, that's your poblem. My advice is go read up on the rules. How long have you been here? <_<

Newbies not understanding the rules or what not, i understand. Someone who's been around, that's just sad and explains a lot of the problems around here.

This is interesting. There are plenty of users coming to fac every day, few of them go to the forums but as you said there isnt a shortage. But people keep coming in, and they don't post. Why is this?

Another thing, I think it is more appropriate for a moderator or more how should I say... experienced peer to be greeting the newbies instead of just Ruppy and Amy. It would be easier for the newbies because the mods can explain the rules alot better.

mods, or anyone else for that matter, shouldn't have to explain the rules. they're pretty clear-cut, so long as you've actually [b]read[/b] them...

In short, anyone can greet the newbies. This thread was made for two reasons. For Newbies to come and see each other so they find people around they can relate to, being new and all. And for the newbies and the more known forum users, especially elder members, to meet and get to know each other.

Amy and Ruppy, just as anyone else, can feel more than happy to greet any of the newbies and answer questions if they know them. Get to know them, etc etc. It's basically here for newbies to meet each other, not feel so left out and alone, and a chance for the rest of us to step up and extend a welcoming hand or what not *shrugs*

I try and come in when i can, and encourage them to look around as much as they can before going right into posting heavy. As well as reading the rules of course. And answer any questions or what not. Simple enough, right?

The others help though and i appreciate it. I don't mind it at all, just as long as more is said other than "welcome" You know, like a sentence. Especially when it's someone who's been around.

Note to Newbies: If your going to post, it's a good idea to really try and post a full sentence. Otherwise it tends to cause problems, and sometimes people will bite your heads off for it Laughing

But i hope you get someone who just informs you not to do so again and help you out instead. But hey, sometimes you just get noticed by someone who woke up on the wrong side of the bed before the other huh? Smile

That's why I put beware as a warning. If you were mean all the time, then they would be used to it, therefore wouldn't have to be warned ahead of time. It only refers to the few times you do get mad, and when youg et mad, you get a little...scary...
