Hey you know when you favouritise a website and a little icon is in place of whatever the default site icon is? ...I was thinking FAC needs one :D

I just had this thought so I haven't designed one yet but I'd like to see what people think of it and if you have any ideas, too..

They're called favicons, because IE used them to identify sites that you've marked as favorites.

All we'd need is something that fits in 16x16, to represent FAC with.

Already done! There are three 16x16 icons to choose from, and one 32x32 just incase Denis might need it for whatever. Which one do you guys like better? I like the one in the middle, personally.

either the one on the right (I like the outlininess of it ^_^ ) or the one in the middle

I think I suggested somewhere in the tattoo discussion that we should have a symbol/icon
We have mascots, now we need a little logo thingy ^^

Hmm... the one on the right [i]is[/i] pretty cool, he just needs to be a bit more readable (looks too much like a mouse) -- how 'bout this?

Funny, I don't see it up there (and NS always displays them in the location bar, faved or not)

It is blurry on mine too, I have Firefox. Strange.

For some reason, the favicon isn't working on NS7.2. Hmm... upon further investigation, I notice that W3schools.com's favicon loads properly, just not on FAC (or pretty much any other site with favicons).

Apparently, it seems NS7.2 only loads favicons when they are specifically included via a LINK tag:
[code:1]<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />[/code:1]

And yeah, the favicon [i]does[/i] look a little blurry, doesn't he? I don't know why. Icons are like GIF's, pixel perfect and they support transparency....

But even so, he's still cute to have up there Wink

I guess when it comes to Internet browsers, I sort of "grew up" on Netscape. Right now the only difference between NS and Firefox (far as I'm concerned) is that NS7.2's popup blocker appears on the toolbar so turning it on or off is as easy as [i]click[/i].

Anyway, here's that version of Pheral again, as an ICO file all sharp and pixely like the GIF:

Yeah, I have firefox also, and it works, it may seem a tad bit blurry, but maybe it's me, cause I'm blind.. .lol , anyways That's awsome! : )

Actually, it is kinda , not blurry, but like squished, like you can;t make out the details as well as the original or the one you posted
