Yes I did once; Robert Batman the Famous Painter signed my Bateman Naturalist Calendar. I asked him a few questions, One was when did he start painting, and Robert said he didn't get serious until he was 12 years old. And didn't sell his first painting until he was about 36 years old. I also asked him what medium did he use, and I thought it was oil but it was actually acrylic. I asked how long did it take to do just do one of his paintings. Robert said that he could not tell me, as he would work on more then one at a time. He would get discouraged with one and would start another painting and then another... and sometimes come full circle back to the first painting and then would choose the best one out of the group. He asked if I painted and at the time I didn't so I told him I just sketched. Well thats really the first time I got to meet anybody famous.

Ps: I met him at a mall in one of the Art Gallery stores that sold his artwork (waited in a BIG LINE UP!).

Well here is a web link to his gallery and a bit of a background on him:

I have. She was a student teacher for my art class last year. She's more famous in England, though, I think. She said that she sells all her sculptures and stuff there, not here in Canada. XD

Oooh, how neat! I've never met a famous artist, myself ^_^. There were some at Anime Expo when I went...but I'm content to just view their artworks, rather than waiting in long lines to meet them XD XD.

The one artist I can think of that I'd wait in very VERY long lines to meet would be Hyung Tae-Kim *___*. And of course those long-dead famous artists like Da Vinci or such...since their signature would be worth so much money XD XD.

Only online, I'm afraid.

Famous people don't frequent my town all that much, and contrary to what people say, Los Angeles is not filled to the brim with cool artists, actors, and musicians. The closest you ever get to "stars" here are the pushy cameramen at Union Station who yell at you for getting too close to the equipment.

Online however, I was very privilaged to have a few short conversations with Dave Cockrum when I was over at the Nightscrawlers board. Dave hangs around there, and he's a very sweet guy. If you don't know, Dave pretty much created the "new" X-Men, and lended a new life to the older characters with his writing and designing skills. He can also tell a mean joke. XD

I can't name them off the top of my head but when I have went to a couple comic conventions down in columbus while cosplaying, I took my art with me to show all the comic book artists that had stands with their art to sell. You get pointers and advice and anything you ever wanted to know its pretty cool Smile

Hm, I guess the only 'famous' artist I've met is Fred Gallagher, the guy who draws Megatokyo. Where by 'met', I mean 'got an autograph from'. XD Yeah.

hm, anyone notice that magetokyo started out as a webcomic? Anyway, I think I met a few other people. The only one I can think of right now is the person who translated some of the manga books. Sarah something.
