How Do You Browse FAC?

As simple as a general, site-related question can get. Aside from the question of how [i]often[/i] do you go browsing through FAC looking for art, my question here is, when you do go looking for art, how do you search?

Shown are all the browse methods I can think of right now which covers most (although not all) of the ways to take a walk through FAC and look for art or stories. Which one describes you, and take a guess as to why it's your method of searching.

I do a bit of everything, I personally don't have any fave type of art, so I look for good art in every catagory. I think I've been in every catagory atleast once i the last few mounths, need to ckeck again though.

And now to give my answer: I'm the type who regularly browses through the Recent Pictures/Thumbnails listing.

The way I see it is this: how many times can you browse through a category (particularly the smaller ones) and find stuff that you haven't run across before?

I like to check up on a few 'favorite' categories (and a few artists I like, as well), but since I've already browsed through and seen said artists and categories, checking the Recent Pictures/Thumbnails listing on a daily basis allows me to keep tabs on them merely by seeing what comes into FAC. It also allows me to see any new artists/pictures I might like, that may not necessarily belong in said categories.

I still do occasionally stroll through a particular category or artist gallery, but the Recent Pictures/Thumbnails has been my method of choice for . . . since about last October or so. Once a day, with very few exceptions -- whoa, I've seen virtually all of FAC's new pictures for the entire past three months! From a thumbnails' distance, that is

I click at random. If it's a new artist who's unrecognized, I give them comments cause I know how it feels to be new. We were all once new. (though that's hard to imagine for the mods and site helpers) and if it's not, I click on something else.

I usually browse through the categories that appeal to me (like.. Final Fantasy, various animes)

Or I go to one of my fave artists and check out [i]their[/i] fave artists.

But also, approving pics lets me see a range of pictures, so I usually pick up an occassional good artist from doing that.

I was going to offer that as a poll option (e.g., "Are you kidding? It's my job!"), but then I thought to myself, nahhhh, better not, don't want members to joke around with such an option on the poll, so I left it out.

I do the Keyword search thingy. If not that I look at my favorite artists art.

I was wondering why I wasn't on your faves!

I voted for the 'Fave Artists" option, too. Sometimes I go to the bottom and click on people's names, but usually their work is really scary (as in bad) or they don't post art, they just comment on it. also, I look at the "Artists or the Month" and if someone has very high standards, I check out their faves list also.

usually i just go to the search place and type in whatever im looking cuz usually i just go to my friends pic to see if they actually added somethin

I just use whatever method comes to mind. sometimes there will be a particular artist that I'm interested in, & other times I'll just scroll to the bottom of the page & click on the names of people who are online.
