The racism thing really bugs me too. I didn't think it was as...common as I've found it to be.
3 situations happened within this week:

-- Girl at work; her table just left (a black couple, the girl serving them was white). another girl I work with went up to her and asked "Did you get tipped??" The girl said yes, she did. Girl #2's response was "Nuh-Uh!! Black people don't tip white people!!" (this girl was black, btw)

Found out later that Girl #2 has a chronic racial discrimination problem...

-- Situation 2: talking to a guy at work (my shift was over, his hadn't begun yet)
He was having problems with his girlfriend so he was going off about how women suck.
I told him generalization sucks. He responded with "When you work as a server for a while, you'll realize generalization is dead on. Ni**ers are ass holes, Asians are cheap..."
I stopped him there, told him not to say stuff like that around me, and walked away.

-- Situation 3: At Home Depot, there was a (possibly Filipino) girl working the register (she had an american accent.... keep that in mind)

Guy goes up on crutches to the register, sees her, and starts flipping out about how all the jobs are going to "f**king chinks". That all these "hard working [i]Americans[/i] (which was later cleared up that he meant "white people" Grr!

) can't get jobs cuz they're going to lazy ass minorities"

The poor girl was frozen in shock. a lady behind him (in front of me) went off on him and he demanded "who's side [was she] on???"

People REALLY piss me off Grr!

I hate people that are so miserable and have such low and pathetic lives, that they have to be completely pricks and bitches towards you for no reason. Today at work, this woman was so rude, but i ignored it and kept smiling, being nice and friendly. Then after putting her check through, instead of asking to see the check, she waited while i answered a question for someone else, and then placed it in teh drawer. Then when i gave her the extra money she made it out for, she commented about how "weren't you suppose to show me the check" and when i went to open the drawer to show her it she huffed at me "forget it! isn't like it'll make a difference, i just want my $30"

Stupid bitch, you said it right. It wouldn't make a difference. And techinically, you don't [i]have[/i] to show them their check, it's if they ask to see it before it's put in the drawer or your jsut use to doing it everytime. And what's funny, she watched me do it. She wanted something to point out and complain about. But the next customer made comments about how miserable she seemed and rolled her eyes at her. Then jokingly told me "And you don't have to show methe check, if something winds up wrong which is very unlikely, the front end can always fix it" And the fact is, they could.

Stupid bitch. I hate miserable people like that. She really needed to get laid <_<

I hate hearing people say that about their scanner. Maybe it's because I'm a computer geek with a decent scanner that I can make bow to my wishes, but... I really wish people wouldn't just lay the blame on their scanner like that. SilentSoul, at [i]least[/i] say that you know how to tweak its exposure settings....

- People who boast about how violent they are. What the hell is that about?

- When the manufacturers subtly change your chosen brand of tampons (sorry to any guys reading). Or stop making them all together.

- Clothers that look black in the morning, only to transform into brown or navy blue when they hit daylight. Doesn't happen to me anymore, since I know what clothes I own, but it was awful when I was little and found myself accidentally wearing navy blue tights to school or parties at a time when they were particularly uncool. And of course, everyone else always knew first.

- Biscuits that you dunk slightly too long so they fall into your tea and leave a goopy mess at the bottom of the cup.
