This movie- aside from The Ring is the scariest damn movie I've ever watched. The version sold in America is a remake from the one in Japan. They changed alot of things in the story around so that Americans would understand the plot. This movie gave me MANY new fears including the fear of SITTING in a bathtub...or in a closet...or one of those long staircases you find in big, tall builings... or under the covers... or around my cat... or in small places such as atticks or crawl spaces. My crawl space has mice in it anyways, but ya know... The part that scared me the most was the enire last 20 minutes (approximately) of the movie. When she was crawling down the stairs, it was a longer seen and all that stuff where you had to see her scary wide eyes. But I did think the part where Yoko was walking down the stairs and blood was squirting everywhere was cool, because when she turns around she like has NO jaw....but that was also kinda creepie, too. ^_^

Any thoughts? Comments?

The movie was remade give or take five times. It was ok, really not creepy like lets say the Ring or any psuedo-thrillers of the kind. The plot was... meh. Though the scares were appropriately suprising, but only because the fact they don't use suspenseful/foreshadowing music or themes. I'd reccomend this movie if you're really easy-going about movies, but if you're a big movie buff (or just plain stingy) like Carter or someone, I'd say at least wait for the rental.

Speaking of rentals, is it out now?

the grudge was awesome. not as scary as anticipated, but it was okay. loved the bit where the girl turned around and had no jaw. my friend literally fell outta her seat. ^_^

the ring wasn't that scary either, but it was still good. notice how scary movies aren't actually that scary anymore?

I know movies are just to boring now... the grudge wasn't scary though it was kind of predictable, though it was funny when i went to see it and my friend was hidding under her coat because she was scared to have nightmares XD Man she is a whimp, other then that i can just picture then get up after they die and ask for a donut or something.

yep, they aren't that good anymore.

mostly because they're predictable. why, do a guy and girl loathe each other and then fall in love by the end?

blech. be realistic puhlease.

my friend started hyperventilating when she watched it. XD we watched it late at night too.

What are you talking about? They didn't change a thing except some of the characters were randomly American T.T

The Japanese version sucked too, though. It....just confused me.

If you're GOING to remake a movie instead of just bringing over and putting subtitles on it, then at least change it so it FITS the culture you're bringing it to (like what they did with "Ring/The Ring" or "The Seven Samurai/The Magnificant Seven" T.T )

The Grudge was pretty much the same as Juon only several of the actors were American (without any explanation as to why.... And last I checked, civil servants weren't a common "gaijin" job)

I kept jumping at random parts during the movie; during the bathtub scene...the part where you see the head creep out from a hole in the cieling...I'm freaked out, cause I'm in an apartment where the downstairs elevator, there's no cover on one square of the ceiling, and I was looking over to see if something would come out(which is pretty ridiculous now that you think about it, and I jumped when the elevator door opened Laughing )

I didn't watch all of the movie, I shut it off during the part where the girl is creeping down the stairs, and you hear the groaning, cracking of the neck sound...*shudders* T_T Never again!!!! lmao

*goes back to watching Ghost Ship for the 30th time*

Yes. I own the movie. I recommended it to someone. Instead of watching it for themselves, they bought it for me.

I'll poke Kayako's eyes out then bonk my slipper on her skull if she ever dares to show up in my house. Then i would let my 5 dogs chase that cat boy. Spoot. The movie doesn't scare me anymore.

Okay, if one came out of my closet here's what I'm really gonna do. I'll pray with my whole heart. Not the repetetive Hail Mary 'cause the situation's gonna worsen. Believe me, I've seen plenty in our house.

Here were some creepy times in our house:
--Me and my dad were in my room talking about something. He was holding a book. We were both looking on a particular page. Then a boy with a white dress passed by, floating.

--Another was when everybody else was sleeping. I had to go out to get some air. I was playing my computer that time. A cold wind swept at my back. I looked back and saw the boy again passing the front door. I ran inside and I forced myself to sleep.

--I went outside to get some air again. There was no wind. It was pretty hot. There were two plants on both sides of the front door. Then the plant on the left side started swaying wildly. I ran again inside.

Hmmm....I could tell y'all some more. Nah, it would be a waste of time.

My house is haunted, you know. I am used to seeing spooty ghosts. That's why I laugh at horror movies.
