Newbies+random Picture Posting

I noticed, lately, that the biggest mistake that newbies make are attaching pictures to their posts that have nothing to do with the discussion, but more for just for the hell of it. it's starting to get annoying, so why not have some sort of thing where you can't post pictures until you reach x number of posts?

like, say, a member can't post pictures with their posts until after reaching 10 posts. by then they would have been aruond for a bit, become more familiar with the rules, etc.

/me agrees with Silver, because it's similar to my idea of not allowing newbies to create new [i]threads[/i] until # of posts (also because of many newbies making threads that have been done before, particularly recent ones)

Say, for example, 5 posts before you're allowed to create a new thread, and 10 (or maybe 20?) before you're allowed to attach images ?

That mean's other newbies will spam more so that they can get the amount of posts they need to get to make new topics and post pictures.

if they spam, they get reprimanded, and then suspended if it continues, s'all.

by post 3, they'll have gotten chewed out plenty.

that's a little mean. There's a reaons they're called newbie...it's cause they're new. I liked Genkai's idea of a newbie SECTION. They could probably get all the info they need there and we can help out.

well if they do make a newbie section,the newbies would hardly post in there. they would figure they are not a newbie and go post with the other people. its just a waste of board space. i agree with what strata and silver says. its a great idea because a lot of the newbies has been getting me really mad... so silentsoul that is basicly a bad idea and a waste of space.

Oh, that? The forums tell me how many topics/posts there are in the S.H. section and what the latest topic is, but as I'm not on the approval/category/abuse or other staff groups (all I've really done is answered questions and given help) I don't consider it my business, and so I don't pay it any mind. (denis/fallen/whomever: Should I?)

well, I'll take that as a yes. And coogirl, it's not really a waste of space. Not all newbies place themselves high up. Most of them in the newbie thread are confused and lost. Having a newbie section might help them get used to the rules and such.

Maybe if the noobs are only allowed to post in a certain forums till they have enough posts... and they can look at other ones but not post in them... so when they try to post on a forum they are not allowed a pop-up should appear with the message "You are not allowed to post in this forum until you have a certain amount of posts. However you can post in the following forums --------, ---------, -------- and -------"
