Weren't rock stars doing those two things way before Manson's time? Those two aren't even shocking anymore since its almost a must-do at concerts for a good number of bands.
Sometimes rock stars can be pretty cool to their fans. But those are usually the sober stars who stopped drinking and drugging it up. I hear that VR band members are pretty cool to their fans. Don't know if that has any connection with most of them being clean for the past year but its a possibility. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

its the whole shock thing. cradle of filth does that same thing. The scary ones are the germanic hardcore kids who burn everything and are serious about it. |

I wouldn't say they should expect it. What they shouldn't expect is for the person to be as great as they imagined. No one is nice all the time, including them. It drives me crazy when someone meets a person on a bad day n' gets the asshole treatment, then proceeds to rant about how that person's a huge prick.
Weren't rock stars doing those two things way before Manson's time?
Yeah (like Tommy Lee's $5,000 leather assless pants). But Manson doesn't do it in a fun, kinda sexy way. He goes on national tv and tries to do it in a scary way.
I hear that VR band members are pretty cool to their fans.
Indeed they are. But even then, fans get pissed about such stupid issues, like "omg Scott didn't even come out! He changed and got on the bus right away. What a dick! Like it would kill him to spend five minutes for a fuckin' picture." <_< Leave 'em alone, asshole.
I dunno, people just think way too much of themselves. Like meeting you is supposed to be so different and special than the 2 million other people. Thus I really don't care for meet n' greets much at all. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

That reminds me of this episode on The Osbournes. This chick won chance to spend the weekend at Ozzy's house and she was a complete fanatic. The first thing she asked Ozzy was "Do you remember me? You pointed me out at Ozzfest last year." Yeah, he points out about 100,000 people in a year hun, I'm sure he's going to remember your face out of those thousands of fans. It was actually a very amusing episode because Ozzy had no idea about the concert and spent the whole weekend wondering "Who the f*ck is she and why are we signing all of her belongings?"
I would be unsure about asking for pictures or autographs. I just think it would be annoying to the band members since they do that all the time. But thats just me and honestly, if I can see the band members on stage I'm a happy person. ^_^
The only thing that would get me mad would be like if someone pulled an Axl and stopped a concert in the middle of performing over something as lame as getting a Bick lighter thrown at his balls. <_< Thats just being an ass and he should probably suck it up. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Meh, it all depends on the situation. Like...a meet n' greet situation sucks for everyone involved. Ushered in, "Hey, nice to meet you, *click click, sign the cd cover*, bye, next..." I don't understand why people pay $400-$1000 to meet the band for 30 seconds. But that's just me...
But if it's more of a laid back setting, pictures can be fun. "Here's me trading shoes with a very drunk _____!" But forced smiles n' autographs you can't read...don't see the point.
To each their own, but I have no sympathy for people who are upset over someone being an ass to them 99.9% of the time. 'Cause they usually deserved it. Thus I wouldn't make much of any stories about Manson being a jagoff, because most come from self-important fans or people who expected too much.
And if he is an asshole....some people are just assholes. Big deal, listen to the music, watch the show, n' be grateful for that.

I don't get the sense he thinks he's better than everyone else. A lot of his opinions n' shit are pretty cool, and he's a smart guy. Some of what he says may come off a bit high n' mighty, but if you'd been faced with the stupidity of being accused of causing suicides n' school shootings, you'd think you were smarter than a lot of people too. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. I think Manson is incredibly talented, and I love his music. People seem to think more about the make up, but thats how it is, I guess. _________________ My candle burns at both ends;
