Here's a spiffy little place to exchange tour dates with your fellow metalheads. Or whatever kind of music you like-head. Anyways, this is a place to post tour dates or ask about tour dates of your favorite bands. This can also be used as a bragging post. For example if you going to say...a Motley Crue concert then you can brag your ass off and even post the town and date the band is performing.

To start up things, I was wondering if there are any bands playing around November? My dad thinks that this would be a great 17th birthday present for me as long as I can get the tour dates early enough. So I was wondering if anyone like say, the Crue or VR was going to be in the Northeast around then. ^_^

I'm just kidding of course. I'm actually excited for you. But it looks like unless more tour dates pop up, I'm not going to be able to see anything good. I can't see anything in August because August is a bad month for my family (its right after we come back from Florida and we're broke that month.) My best bets are probably going to be Motely Crue though. If I play my cards right, I can convince my parents to take a little road trip to Albany, NY in September and it can just be a very early birthday present.

Of course its just my luck that they're arcross the nation at a time that would've been more convinient. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Aerosmith may appear again and go on tour soon (not very likely, but its good to hope.) If they did then my parents would have no problem sending me to another state to see them (its going to take a lot of convincing for them to let me to a Crue concert or a VR concert.)

Originally it was just the Reno show next week, but Oregon was added later. And I missed the presale for Reno, so I should have kickass seats for the one in July (they haven't released individual seat assignments yet).

Right now I'm trying to find someone who can afford the $47 to see VR with me. General admission and everything.

Oh! I just remembered something! I just may be able to go to the Crue concert in Hartfort (in August) after all. My best friend is celebrating her Sweet 16 this year and I was talking to her about the Crue tour and we both found out her favorite band (Sum 41) might be headlining them. So she's considering taking me and someone else with her to that concert. She's still not sure though. But there's hope yet. :D

By the way, how do you get kickass seats anyway? Do you pay more for them or do you just pay really early?

Depends. There's a billion ways to get good seats (and most are legal! )

I typically just do presale through the band. All the hassle is mostly taken out of it that way, and you can get great seats if you time it right. However, it comes at a (literal) price. My KISS/Poison seats last year were $125 a piece, but fifth row. My Motley seats for July were $80, and would have been $150 for better ones (like third row better). If you can afford the added cost of band presale, that's the best guarantee of great seats.

But you can also get lucky with regular TicketBastard-I mean Master sales. After the presale is over (if there even is one), all the seats go on normal sale. So if the good seats didn't fill up and you buy them right as they go on sale, you can get lucky.

Both of those rely on timing. My dad is usually the one to be on ticketmaster/motley.com/wherever at exactly 1 in the afternoon with his credit card ready.

General admission, pretty obvious, show up early enough.

Other ways that don't involve buying specific tickets are to look for special events/offers. Motley, for example, will upgrade a few people every show to better seats, but only from a certain presale level. Other groups will upgrade from all areas. Obviously radio station promotions are good. Or, depending on the group, you can just establish a casual relationship and get tickets from them. Email back and forth for awhile and eventually mention you want to go to ____ show. Of course, really only works with smaller groups and not the likes of Motley. And in that case, it's usually a general admission club anyway. But it still works.

Money money money... That's why I'm actually [i]happy[/i] about General Admission shows, whereas most other people hate them. I can get good seats without paying $100 for once.

gcbaby, a little word of advice, its never a good idea to talk back to the mods. And it helps to spell correctly.

I have to find Warped Tour dates. My friend (who wanted to see Motely at first) now wants to go to this. *Shrugs* I guess it would be okay. I don't know what bands are playing. I'm not looking foward to it because I remember last year it was all pop rock bands but I heard its a different lineup so there's hope.

In other news, VR is coming around the Northeast in a few weeks. What does this have to do with me going? Not a damn thing.
