They were the worst band I've ever seen live (opening for Bowie).

Actually, quoted from a thread about them awhile ago 'cause I can't be bothered to rewrite it. Uneasy
About the band, I can't stand them. They opened for Bowie, and I was so tempted to just go back to the lobby or merch stand or anything to get away. A whole bunch of jumping up and down in robes and stupid hand movements and songs that went on forever.

How many people are in that band? Surprised So many...

Can't comment on their entire body of work, since I just saw their one set, but I hated every moment of it. Just go away and bring out David. Sad

The songs may not have been so bad, I was just overly distracted by the blinding light show and choreographed movements. I'm convinced they need all those people just to make thrusting your arm up and down not look so lame if 12 people are all doing it. Plus they've got, what, 6 or 9 people just as a "choir"? At least they did in that show.

The singer was mildly entertaining with his flamboyant jumping. But that was about it. And the songs were too long. Oh, they had a harp, too.

I suppose, in part, they wear the robes because 15 people in their own outfits would be chaotic looking. Four or five people in "loud" showing outfits is cool. A whole stage full is overwhelming. Plus it gives the singer something to swoosh around in while jumping on monitors.

Really, if they shortened the songs, fixed the light show (it was like staring at the sun, flashing in your eyes), and cut out some of the people (or at least stopped the stupid movements), they'd be better. The singer wasn't half bad, as well as some of the musicians, but the excessive number of people killed it.
I've heard more of them since then, and I hate them even more. . . . .
