Yeah I heard that as well.
But the movie wasn't good, yet, I loved it! It was stupid to the point of being hysterical. But people either hated it or loved it.

"my head was all sweaty and I didnt know what to do I tried drinking cold water but that didnt do nothing then I tried taking a bath but that didnt do anything either then I realized it was my hair that was making my head all sweaty so I shaved it all off" Laughing

My favorite part in the whole movie.

"flippin sweet!" lol. yea i also loved that part when pedro shaved his head. X3 its soo fun to quote from that movie. XD wen i first watched it, i DESPISED napoleon's uncle...cuz he was like some old desperate wacky perverted pedophile...but then when i watched it again, i realized that that's what makes his character funny and weird.

I thought it was a good movie because for once the nerds won (any combatting evidence using revenge of the nerds will be shot down in a torrent of fury ^_^ )

On the other hand, I've grown to hate it because people constantly quote it and make fun of Napoleon. In truth, when I first saw it, it made me really sad. I know a lot of people like the three main characters, and it just seems like if this movie did have a purpose, it would be to show that popularity only matters to a select group of people who have no power in the real world. Based on the bad light the movie put popular people in, I'm surprised it's successful.

Sure it was funny, but frankly I don't think people really appreciate what it has to say, hence the reason most people say it's 'about nothing.' It's like an animation of the American Dream, a rise to the top Very Happy. I hate this movie now because it has been made absolutely ridiculous by popular people. It's lost it's meaning, and the stupid quotes have been stamped onto everything--merchandising *shudder.* It's the same reason no one likes Hamlet anymore- the quotes are so overused the play looks like a book of cliches.

Anyways, my spiel. Kind of forgot what I was talking about by the end there.

very. VERY interesting...^_____^ so ur kinda saying its overrated by the preps who dont see the point of it?
hmmm i like looking at it in your perspective...u see wen i first saw it...i was thinking:
1) no plot
2) main character are nerds
3) an anti-conformist movie.
4) slow paced
5) funny
6) ok. i love it. super cool. XD
7) its making fun of the ppl who try SO HARD to fit in...this is perfect. love this movie.

heh...for some reason it reminds me of ....you kno those BLACK HOT TOPIC SHIRTS WITH PHRASES on them??? well...its like first it was REALLY cool cuz few ppl had it.....and now...EVERYBODY has it..and its lost its meaning -.- sigh. so i understand your point too, Jailcrow... but i still love Napoleon Dynamite nevertheless.

I think the movie is so stupid it is funny, the only thing that makes it funny is Napoleon, the characteer himself and how he acts, but heck, i love that movie XD
