Do you people ever bitch about anything else? This thing has been drinven so far into the ground its ass is poking up in China. Yes, they're posers! No, they're not! I love Billy! (or whatever the f**k his name was) Jesus the Jew, just shut up!!!! _________________

Personally I'm not a big fan of their music - partially 'cause I don't listen to them too much. I really could care less about what they wear, it's not like it matters when listening to a CD. (However watching them preform live or on a DVD or music video, that's debatable.) Aparently there's way too much band-bashing on this site, and that's really kind of lame. I mean, why not talk about bands you LIKE instead of the ones you hate?
Fallen I can somewhat tollerate. She actually says, "GC sucks because of blah blah blah their rifts suck, their bass suck, billys kinda hot omg wait... wait.. wait... yeah they still suck." Only a lot more convincing and inteligently. Most others just agree on what Fallen says without their own opinions. :/ Glam doesn't matter... unless it's glam rock...
I can see where you're coming from Will, even if you're a fan or not, it's still frustrating. It's human mentality to make fun of people and assert yourselves above them ("Omg, their posers... lol... what fags, I'm so much better than them."). |

I don't care either way about Good Charlotte, but from now on I am going to love and adamently defend them just to spite you all! _________________

That's because they make for much better conversations. The Gn'R thread is quite long, but it'd be cut in half if you took out all the off topic discussion of Motley and Hanoi and god knows what else crept in there every couple pages. The problem is that when there's a negative discussion, there's more to talk about. "_____ is not very good, it's too similar to _____'s melody in ____" "No, _____ is different, there's only a slight resemblance in such n' such line, and that's not enough to call it a rip off" "But the key is the same, and the lyrics are about the same thing"
There's an exchange.
Nutswinging threads don't go much further than "Roxx Gang are really cool" "Yeah, I love them" "What's your favorite song?" "Dunno. Yours?" "I Walk Alone." "Cool."
It gets boring really fast. And it's definitely possible to make an intelligent pro-thread (Guns for example), but let's be realistic. There aren't that many people on this particular forum who do more than "I luv ___!". If you want to take the initiative and post something worthwhile, do it!
The only reason GC is such a popular topic of discussion is the nutswingers. I'd rather they not be talked about at all, but if people are going to bring it up, I'll play. Beats watching fangirls finger themselves while talking about how cute they all are. Start something new if you're tired of 'em.

I'm not into discussing games or music or movies or whatever with anyone much anyway. I mean, everyone has their own opinions on whatever and they always end up as you said, "Hey did you watch _____" "Yeah" "I thought it was cool" "I thought it sucked; you're gay." "Blah blah blah." or "Hey do you play ____" "Yeah that game rocks" "I love the part when you shoot stuff :3" "Blah blah blah."
Politics and current events make for SOOOO much better conversations. |

To you. I hate discussing those things. The Sludge forums are my favorite, and there's a whole lot more to be talked about than "Tuff is cool!", "Slaughter sucks!", and "Mick Mars vs Richie Sambora!".
The problem here is that there's too few of each type of person. A few technique heavy people (guitar, whatever), some history focused, some skill focused, and some who really don't give a fuck and just want to verbally masturbate over their favorite bands (jesus christ, get a livejournal for that!).
But with enough knowledgable people, show/album reviews, press releases, career evaluations, show advice, song discussions, personal stories, and sharing interesting things founds elsewhere make for great threads. But you have to like talking about those things.
Someone posting how well Faster Pussycat performed on Friday is great fun to me. Whereas here those kinds of things typically go ignored or get a "cool." response, more people who know what the hell you're talking about can make for a really interesting thread with questions about setlists, comparisons between now and ten years ago, plans for future dates, etc. etc.
Will that ever happen at this forum? Probably not, at least not about the bands I would prefer, but dammit I'll still try. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

This is a good point to bring up Will. I don't know if I'm guilty of doing this (I don't think I am. I don't think I've ever said "OMG! GnR f*ckin' rocks.")
I will admit that unless you go off topic on a music thread (just like the GnR and what hopefully will be the Billy Idol thread soon) then there's not much to talk about except, "Whats your favorite song?" "I don't like it." "F*ck you." It gets old and boring.
Maybe we could get some ideas for funner topics here? Fallen, are there any thread from Metal Sludge that might be succesful here? The Mick Mars v.s Richie Sambora caught my eye. Maybe we could do something like that. I just think the Music forum has been slow lately. There's really nothing worthwhile to talk about except for the Billy Idol thread and Motley thread and a few others that I can't think of at the moment. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I have nowhere to go but. I have never heard any of their songs and no nothing about the band (other than the lead singer is supposedly "attractive"). Hell, I was not even aware of their existance until I heard fangirls creaming all over them in this forum. So the best I can do is idle threats and won-ton profanity in the name of the Charlotte.
Bring it on! _________________

Ha, ha! Screw Mick v.s Richie! We've got the best forum cage match right here.
Fallen v.s Will

Meh, I try to bring Sludge threads over whenever I see one that would do well here, but most would just be either you and me talking or...just me. Anyone else feel they could carry on a thread about Dangerous Toys or Kix?
The "____ vs _____" threads are ok. But they get out of control so quickly. Start one, ten show up in the next week. So I hesitate to ever start them. But if there's a comparison you wanna start, I'll play.
It's no fun arguing with Will if I know he's faking it. Especially when there's plenty of real fangirls around. All my facts and examples fall on deaf ears if he's never heard any of it. But I will say I don't think it's the singer who is always labeled the "good looking" one. Isn't he one of the twins, anyway? It's the skinny guitarist, Billy. And I think he's only good looking 'cause he's surrounded by the ugly ones. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Entertain that attitude and naught but idiots will you aquire. Hold a board to a higher standard, and you might actually get a worth while topic out of it.
As for Fallen: FSUCK YOU!!!! Billy is teh sex and I want to eat his babies!!! You suck jizz in retrospect, you ass rimming, pube spewing, clit crunching, sack munching bitch!!! Go chew on a cat's genital warts and die because Good Charlotte is better than your life mixed with crack rocks and then crushed into a fine powder which I then use to snort two, count 'em, TWO lines off your dead tits!!!! _________________

I think I will. I don't mind if there's noone there but there's something thats been bugging me since I bought Red White and Crue.
And did the GC thread really get that bad? You all talk like it got out of control. I mean, maybe it did. I stayed out of there because I just don't like GC so why would I talk about them? But thats sad if one thread is ruining the music forum for everyone else. <_< _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Haha!!! Very good. :D
Maybe I should point out that I enjoy both sarcasm and ironic humor. I found it funny to post a reply to you that could have come straight out of Aesops Fables and then immediately flame Fallen like a 12-year-old fangirl. :P
Fallen: The flesh of newborns is savory to my pallet. I will not rest till I dine on their succulent meats.

Personally I find the debates quite entertaining. That "Beatles influence" thread wouldn't have been half as much fun if everyone had just said.
"The Beatles were very influential."
"Yup, they were."
"One could even say that the were the most influential band ever."
"One could." _________________ |
