what type of rock genre? there is many types of rock like hair metal or punk rock/pop and do youu even klnow what heavy metal is? than we go to classic rock and a lot more.

It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.

my favorite types of music..

Melodic Death Metal (as in Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Amon Amarth)
Goth Metal (as in Type O Negative, Entwine, Moonspell)
Power metal (Rhapsody, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian)

..basicially metal of different kinds. Those have to be my favorites genre-wise though.

i used to like nu-punk and ska from the ages of like 6-14 but it got annoying and sounded the same after awhile

Evanescence is [b]not[/b] metal! They are far from being metal and much closer to the 'nu-metal' catagory then anything if not gothic rock.

First off, what is it about Evanescence that makes it more 'rock' or 'nu' but not metal? To start off, metal mostly about complicated guitar solos. In REAL metal, complexity is important. Listen to Evancesence, and you'll find out that the guitars are bland, boring, with no ripping guitar solos or complexity. in fact, the guitars, bass, and drumming are all apart of the backround while the vocals are up-front. in a nu-metal band (the more which they are) , the vocals ARE the band, while all the rest of the intruments are swallowed into the backround. This is not metal. Metal is all about equality of the entire band itself. Listen to a metal song and you'll hear that ALL intruments are just as important as the singer. Having a pretty voice up front while every other band member playing a supporting-role is more pop-ish..not certainly not the spirit of metal at all.

nu-metal on the other hand (if evancesence are not gothic-rock, they're nu defiently), could sound pretty powerful as a whole, however, if you were to take all the intruments apart and listen to them, you'll find out that there is nothing special about it. That is what Evanesence are. they are defiently NOT metal, and any person who has much knowlege in this music genre would know that.

Nu-metal also are well-known for copying other band formulas, calling it thier own, and marketing it. Evancesence are just that. listen to them and then to Lacuna Coil...don't you get the impression that they copied them?

HAH, calling Evanescence gothic metal is a disgrace. Have you ever lisened real goth metal bands like Moonspell or Type O Negative? How, just how, can you compare the very pop-ish Evancesence to those truely heavy bands? very insulting.

oh yeah, nu-metal isn't real metal btw. It's a term made up to describe the pop and alternative-rock music that is hailed 'metal' by the media and the mainstream. Luckily, nu-metal in itself is dying and is starting to be replaced with metalcore instead..
