Let's start a little game shall we. It's called name that tune. The rules are simple. You have to post the first verse and the chorus(if there is a chorus) of a song. It can be any type of song. The other people guessing must name the title of the song and the artist.

Let's start with an easy one.

Do you have the time
to listen to me whine
about nothing and everything
all at once?

I am one of those malodromatic fools
nauotic to the bone
no doubt about it.

Sometimes I give myself the creeps.
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me.
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm cracking up.
Am I just paranoid
or am I stoned?

The person who guesses it right will get to put down their song. and it will keep going and going.

Er, if I remember from the themesong thread, it's Basket Case by Green Day.

You know, this game is great in real life, if you have XM radio, chat rooms, etc., but usually people just type a few lines into a search engine and ruin the game. Sad

So nobody ever told you baby
How it was gonna be
So what'll happen to you baby?
Guess we'll have to wait and see

Old at heart, but I'm only 28
And much too young
to let love break my heart
Young at heart, but it's getting much too late
To find ourselves so far apart

I don't know how you're s'posed to find me lately
And what more could you ask from me?
How could you say that I never needed you
When you took everything,
Said you took everything from me

I made it easy so the game wouldn't stop after only two posts. Also had to pick one where the title wasn't in the "chorus". Rolling eyes Had I wanted to be difficult, I'd have picked something along the lines of

"Everything that I said, always seemed to come out wrong, everything that we had, I took for granted all along, now I can't change it, even though I wish I could, I can't believe it got this far, everyday I wonder how you are, wonder how you've been, wonder if you're doin' fine, all the time, wonder how you are. I know I didn't call you, even though I said I would, I know I didn't tell you quite as often as I should, I know I didn't write you, a lot to say I was good, I can't believe it got this far, everyday I wonder how you are..." - Wonder, Dj Ashba. Who's got a sexy voice to go with the look y'all agreed upon. Cool

Provided everyone played fair, I could have easily stumped you all. But what fun would that be.

My turn:

...
You've shaken your faith in me, no
You've shaken my faith in everything else
A decision no one makes, and now you're going home
Faith is a hard thing to hold on to
Something inside you says I don't have to
You're not like other people, you do what you want to
You're not like other people, you do what you want to

Thrown down... like a barricade
Maybe now he could prove to her
That he could be good for her
And they should be together
...

There ye go, mates! No cheating!!

Is it Thrown Down by Fleetwood Mac?

Here's one for ya:

1st verse---

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

chorus---

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
(song name)
(song name again)
No, no!

to answer JHFs its: Wont get fooled again-the Who

youll have to dig into the past for this one, but not quite as far as JHFs.
okay put on your thinkin' caps:

well who do you think youre foolin'
you say your havin' fun
but youre busy goin' nowhere
just lying in the sun
you tried to be a hero
commit the perfect crime
but the dollar got you dancing
and your running out of time

youre messin' up the water
youre rolling in the wine
youre poisoning your body
youre poisoning youre mind
you gave me coca-cola
you said it tasted good
you watch the television
it tells you that you should

how can you live in this way?
-(why do you think its so strange)
you must have something to say
-(tell me why I should change)
there must be more to this life
its time we did something right
[name of song] wont you listen
find yourself a new ambition

Ive heard it all before
youre saying nothing new
I thought I saw a rainbow
but I guess it wasnt true
you cannot make me listen
I cannot make you hear
you find your way to heaven
Ill meet you when youre there

how can you live in this way
-(why do you think its so strange?)
you must have something to say
-(tell me why should I change)
we have no reason to fight
'cos we both know that were right
[name of song], wont you listen
find yourself a new ambition

little hint the two arguing are suppose to be countries and it is political!
alot of songs were back then.

Yes, bad example, but it was an excuse for me to plug Dj. Saw him on MAD TV the other day with Beautiful Creatures. Old rerun. Bret n' Rikki too. Could'a plugged Peppermint Creeps or somethin'. Meh.

need help?

the band was big in the '70s (and everyone is led to believe it was all disco then)
they were of the "classical rock type" yes, genesis, renissance (but on the pop end)
this was the last song on thier biggest album (1979 biggest)
they were from England
and the song is about how the Brits felt about America, the US is arguing back in the parethisis and the nome of the song is a refrence to America

God I give you anymore I might as well tell you the song!

Bruce... if you dont guess it in a day go to the next song!

"Child Of Vision" - Supertramp. Razz Yay!

This should be easy...should be easy...

Out on the streets, that's where we'll meet
You make the night, I always cross the line
Tightened our belts, abuse ourselves
Get in our way, we'll put you on your shelf
Another day, some other way
We're gonna go, but then we'll see you again
I've had enough, we've had enough
Cold in vain, she said

I knew right from the beginning
That you would end up winnin'
I knew right from the start
You'd put an arrow through my heart

With love we'll find a way just give it time

What comes around goes around
I'll tell you why

Dig

Lookin' at you, lookin' at me
The way you move, you know it's easy to see
The neon light's on me tonight
I've got a way, we're gonna prove it tonight
Like Romeo to Juliet
Time and time, I'm gonna make you mine
I've had enough, we've had enough
It's all the same, she said

That's Round and Round, by Ratt. :)

Let's see how fast this is taken.

I got my first real six string
Bought it at the five and dime
Played it til my fingers bled
Was the

Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shoulda known we'd never get far

oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin's down at the drive-in
And that's when I met you - yeah

Standin' on your mama's porch
You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Back in the

Man we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin' can last forever - forever, no...

And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six string
I think about ya'n wonder what went wrong

Standin' on your mama's porch
You told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life

Bon Jovi, Summer of '69..
-------
Well, baby, there you stand
with your little head down in your hand.
Oh my God, you can't believe it's happening again.
Your baby's gone and you're all alone and it looks like the end.

And you're back out on the street
and you're tryin' to remember.
How do you start it over? You don't know if you can.
You don't care much for a stranger's touch but you can't hold your man.

You never thought you'd be alone
this far down the line
and I know what's been on your mind,
you're afraid it's all been --

The autumn leaves have got you thinking
about the first time that you fell.
You didn't love the boy too much,
no no, you just loved the boy too well.
Farewell.

So you live from day to day
and you dream about tomorrow, oh.
And the hours go by like minutes and the shadows come to stay.
So ya take a little something to make them go away.

And I could have done so many things, baby,
if I could only stop my mind
from wond'rin' what I left behind
and from worryin' 'bout this --

Ooh, another love had come and gone.
Ooh, and the years keep rushing on.
I remember what you told me before you went out on your own:
sometimes to keep it together we got to leave it alone.

So you can get on with your search, baby,
and I can get on with mine.
And maybe someday we will find
that it wasn't really --
