I know I must have done this to you on more than one occasion...hehe. but you have to admit I put up a hell of an arguement even when Im wrong...hense 4 failed engagements, 2 failed marriges, and my sub title "I love Beatings." now stop wacking your head against the wall, cause its all in good fun.

and as for the topic here, yeah I love some bands that have no tallent and were extreemly popular in thier day (Ramones) and ones with unreal tallent that had little exposer (Genesis/w Peter Gabriel-mid '70s and back). but I still argue that they rocked, even though I caught hell from different piers for liking both. I said the one was tallented and the other not, I just enjoy both types of music and whoever dosnt could always kiss my white arsh. now theres semi-blind devotion if I ever heard it.

as for the statement here....you should have lived throught the '60s when if you liked the Stones you couldnt like the Beatles, and almost all the music in every genre was a statement. this statement would have been bunk. it didnt matter. war, polution, goverment, it was all attacked in music.....as the Who stated though "The Kids are Allright!"

No shit. I pointed that out earlier in the thread to Lexar.

And like I told him, for the sake of the fact the people I'm speaking to are too stupid to understand that "omg I luuuuuv green day! billie is lyke so totally hawt!!!!" does not constitute an appropriate and useful music thread, dumbing it down to fact and opinion vs "vague opinion" and "specific opinion" works better.

I tried explaining it the other way in individual threads, and it never worked. Still doesn't work that well, but it works better. Being a smart ass and not bothering to read the thread....nice start.
