I Need Help With Some Thing.

Me and others were doing an rpg and some one who i consider a friend got upset that we wouldn't wait for him to post...now he hates me and i don't know what to do...i really wish we would tell me what to do to make it up to him.....i just need ideas on what to try.

why does he hate you for posting? Did he ask you to wait? if he didn't then he has no real reason to be mad at you.
Just tell him you're really sorry, then ask him to forgive you. if that doesn't work, then just leave him alone for a while. It's just an RPG he'll get over it. Wink

The problem (as I see it) is that when you get two people with not much else to do at the moment but post and respond [i]to each other[/i], threads get very long before anyone can react to what is said.

This is true both for RP [i]and[/i] normal threads.

From what I saw, drake was complaining about the pace of the thread as a whole, and wasn't directing anything to you in specific. In other words, it's not your fault. Not alone, it isn't.

Drake, care to contribute?

he said when he was there for us to wait...but he left so we just started talking......he came back and he was mad at us...i wish he would just....talk to me....i could tell him how sorry i really was....but he just won't talk to me....man it sucks....i really like him and i just want him to know...i just think he won't understand....*Sigh*

Rather, I believe you are the one who doesn't understand.

You are thinking in chat time, not forum time.

When somebody asks you, in chat, to wait, 5 or 10 minutes will do just fine.

But across e-mail or a forum, if somebody asks you to wait, they mean waiting for a much longer span, like one or two DAYS.

Giving up won't solve anything, it will just leave the situation where it lies.

The answer isn't easy, particuarly because you aren't the only one that drake was complaining about. He was complaining about the thread as a whole, about everyone as a group.

Drake asked if you guys could slow the pace down, he asked if you could use full sentences and not chat lingo. Nobody responded to him -- perhaps they were too busy RP'ing with each other to notice, but nobody responded.

I've been scanning through the RP thread, but I haven't found anything new to comment on. The thread was continuing virtually round the clock, making it difficult for other members to keep up with all the changes.

Aura, I never said I hated you. I'm just angry that, like Strata already told you, I've asked you at the most 4 to 5 times to slow the rp down and then whenever I got back there were at the very least 3 new pages. One time there was 7. The only thing I'm asking is for you guys to have some patience.

Also try rethinking your rp style please.
