I don't know about worldwide, but in Britain, hip hop is huge. Artists like:
Ja Rule, 50 cent, Tu Pac, Dr Dre, Nas etc
Does anyone else share my interest in hip hop?....or am i on my own... |

I thought it was clear what I thought of hip-hop in my first post. I think it's a great way for rappers to say what they mean and to get people to listen to them. |

It'll pass quickly. Its popularity has mostly faded in the states (I haven't heard Tupac or 50 Cent or any of those talked about in at least a year or two), although I'm sure MTV is still doing their stupid "gangsta" programs. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Katie, don't be a n00b. Back it up or shut up.
And my post was using a quote from The Ladykillers, so don't go saying I did it too.
Actually, Fallen, 50 cent was in the mountain dew commercial (all his clothes and his fro gets cut up)("didn't even TOUCH me!"). He's still going. Also, Tupac is still releasing more and more albums. Hmmm, I wonder. <_< Tupac, ressurection alright. He's hiding out somewhere just waiting for his chance to come out and say "SURPRISE BITCHES! I'M STILL ALIVE AND YOU ALL BOUGHT IT!!!" |

I know he's still around. I meant the fad is dying, where every white kid and his dead grandmother thought they were a gangsta and was trying to rap during study hall, constantly talking about "that dope new rhyme, yo". That's gone way down. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Meh, it's only gotten bigger around here.
I still can't believe they took Y100 off the air. I didn't listen much, but it's better than "100.1 THE BEAT!"
Lame. <_< |

Hm, well then. Around here it's mostly gone. Kids are much more "indie rock" right now, very into the bands that are just on the edge between "underground" and mainstream. So they can still call them indie without having to actually go find them on their own and can just be told what's cool, as always. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. A lot of music from Garden State is interesting. I like it. ^_^
Hip-hop is quite boring actually. Most is just repeating itself constantly...especially lately. |
