I throw my mistakes away. If I don't, then they'll end up getting eaten by roaches or lizards in our basement.

most of my stuff is in a sketchbook so nothing ever comes out of there unless I'm really pissed off at the whole picture. if there's one part I like though, I keep it. and if there's too many erase marks, if you use a mechanical pencil with no lead and trace the basic outlines of the parts you want to keep really hard on another piece of paper, you get grooves in the other paper that you can trace so you don't have to completely redraw the picture or buy a light table. (my sketching can be very messy and I do that when I want a more finished looking, colored pic. one of these days I'll get photoshop and maybe learn to use it )

When I don't do great draws but that there are some things I like in them I keep them. I do some sketches or when i start with my lines and think it,s looking wrong I start again.

There's very few drawings/paintings that I actually get rid of, even if they're bad. Usually, I can look at them a couple of years later and get some new idea from them. There was one, though, a painting I did and had to show in front of my entire class. And the art teacher, a man I really admired, told me, and the entire class, that my painting was s**t. He even used that word, except in swedish. I cut that painting into tiny little pieces and burned it.

I keep my mistakes. pretty much all my pics that aren't digital are in a sketchbook somewhere in my room. & because I draw a lot I have about 9 or 10 of them just lying on the floor. I like to go through them just to see how I've improved over time.

Well, sometimes I get rid of mistakes sometimes I keep them.

It's kind of interesting to compare your old work with your new work.

I keep mine, as I can't possibly redraw something without coming out as something totally different. Very Happy

Yeah I do. It helps me see how I improve little by little, and I can feel better about my art. I always like looking back and wondering if I actually drew some of the stuff I did.
If I start something, the minute I think it's going wrong I throw it out. No idea why, I guess I just hate to look at past mistakes.
