i have only posted 9 pictures at this site. i think they are all high quality. i dont mean to sound big headed but i hardly get any comments. maybe i should be more paitiente but i thought i was a good drawer! when i check up on what comments im getting i see that 50 ppl have viewed and i get one lousy comment. so any1 who reads this topic plz view my pictures and give me an opinion. it is what makes my art work thrive. i think i deserve a little more recognition.

It's all about participation. Talent doesn't get you very far online, except in very rare (and very lucky) situations. You have to get your name out there by commenting a lot on other people and participating in the forums. Add a link to your gallery in your sig, too. More often than not, people will eventually stumble upon your stuff or go check you out after seeing you in the forums. (and after a hideously long comment dryspell, a couple people from the forums have done that for me recently...you know who you are )

It takes time to be noticed.

most people on fanart central are good drawers, so we tend to get less impressed than people who are not. Besides 50 to 1 ratio seems pretty regular to me.

both Lexar and Fallen are absolutely correct. put your name out and hope for the best. I didnt get comments for the longest time here, if and those two didnt (and thier two of the best on this site) you wont without letting people know who you are. Ill go over to your area now and check out your work.

Haha, I still get a whoppin' 4 comments from submittin' something new. If you want comments on FAC, since there's no watch or favoriting system like on DA, you really just have to either make a group of friends and/or a good fanbase that will click on your name.

And since it's fanart, the subject has a lot to do with comments. If you happen to draw something that's hot at the time (like the flood of Pirate Johnny Depp, Good Charlotte, or the latest Cartoon Network hit) you'll get a lot more comments than if, for example, you draw like I do. Not exactly a huge Rikki Rockett fanbase hangin' around. In which case it takes more work to get people to look. As annoying as it is, it also helps to put what the subject is in the title. I usually hate that (how hard is it to give it a real title? <_<), but people are more likely to click on something they recognize than just a random title. Unfortunately. It's the reason most of the first half of my gallery is titled by who it's a picture of. I stopped doing that when I realized no one had heard of the people, anyway, so it didn't matter.

Don't worry, I'm sure DreamOfFire will discover you eventually. <_< She's commented on a good deal of the picture's I've done. And a good deal of the pictures other people have done. In fact, I think she's currently the user who has given the most comments.

Hehe, indeed she is. Seems every time I look at that it's multiplied an insane amount. I don't remember getting any comments from her, but my thinking isn't fabulous right now anyway. Any particular reason for the " <_< "?

A lot of people feel the same way. Usually a bunch of whiners come to the forums and type in all caps to get people to view their gallery. You, however, were able to post a well-written and very polite concern about commenting. I respect that. I'm gonna go check out your stuff now. ^_^

I dont see where theres a complaint on comments at your area snape. I have pics with 300 views and like 4 comments (under the Lexar ratio) and you have a pic with 14 looks and 2 comments already (over the ratio). I like to get comments but I aint gonna beg and I aint gonna cry about it either.

wait till you get the flaming "you suck" comments...then you can complain.

I commented on your work already Fallen...but thats cause Im old and I know who your drawing! I think on Alice and Garcia. they were great.

Lol, seems every picture I go to has a comment by her. She's probably commented on your pics. Most of them are the usual "SO CUTE *saves to favs*" kind, though. But it doesn't really bother me, so....

Ah. Yeah, probably, I can't remember anymore 'cause it's usually something I posted months ago and people found for whatever reason. Go figure.

And yep, dabear, you did. I more meant the Poison ones and such, but I haven't done any in quite awhile. Pretty obvious the "Poison" subcat's never clicked on. It's my own little world in there. Ty Longley's another one. People comment on that one just for the hair, which was the friggin' easiest part of the whole thing. They have no idea who he is, unfortunately (Great White guitarist who died in the Station Club fire...). But I'd be happier drawin' my boys and gettin' one "cool, no idea who it is tho" comment than a bunch of comments on something else. I work for those of us who never get to see [i]our[/i] favorites in art.

I think I'll stop rambling now.

Yeah every single one of my pictures has at least one comment from Dreamoffire.
I think she actually goes through all the new pictures and adds a comment. That must be a lot of work.

Dont be discouraged by not getting comments,... if u post more pictures and become noticed that you have alot of pictures then you might get more comments............O.o i dont know my advice is for s**t O.o well i guess i could give one more word of it,... just be patient if you draw them they will come................................O.o yea ok Im done now
