To upload here, the image must be less than 300kb.

To make this image smaller (Though image dimensions (widthxheight) don't have much to do with standard fanart image sizes) just go into any image editing software (MSPaint will do), click File > Save As... then save it from a .bmp to a .jpg

There should be a drop-down menu with these file extensions in it.. Just save it as a different name within a folder you'll find back and hit Save.

Also, to keep the filesize down, try cropping (getting rid of the unused white space around your image) and then saving. You can do this by moving the image to the top left of the working area, then moving the area handles (usually little grey boxes on the very edges of the active area) so it's as close to the image as possible without cutting any off. In programs like photoshop/paintshop pro there is a crop feature. Just click and drag the box around your image and double click within the box. The image will be smaller without the useless white area.

Then just save as .jpg/.jpeg and upload it.

When you select a different file format using the dropdown list box, the filename's extension will usually (but not always) change to reflect the new file format, so that you don't have to type it in yourself.
